I'm hoping to find people I grew up with that also came to the same realizations I did. Maybe they did it quicker than I did.
I'd love to hear all about it.
Thanks,

OK What am I missing here? I see no way to delete errant posts. I don't know How that second one got posted and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I'm really not an idiot. I swear! But for some reason this place has me failing miserably.
I don't mean to be such a newbie here.
If anyone can enlighten me, I won't make the same mistakes twice. Or point me to the page that explains it all.
sorry guys! :(

Thank you all for the wonderful ideas here. I have really enjoyed seeing where your brains take you. :)
Just to let you all know, I'm not a newbie to being away from the JWs. I'm 43 and have been out since I was 16. But it took till I was 30 to realize that it wasn't "the Truth". It was a tough year or two, learning that everything you had been told was a lie, and even tougher that your loved ones still believe. I have 3 sisters, all of which fell away and 1 of which went back. SAD! And I'm pretty sure that the only reason another of my sisters doesn't go back is because she is gay and they won't except her. I fear she still believes. Our Mother, of course, has never faultered in her belief. She is lost to most of us.
So I spent the first couple years of learning about the deception obsessively. I have Files of printed information should I even need to show it to someone else wondering about the validity of the cult. But those files have been tucked away for years now.
This tattoo is part of my process of solidifying my stand against them. It will be a final stand that I will always have. I have no reason or desire to Fight or obsess over it any longer. But there will be one final statement. And I will go to the grave with it. (And I will show my mother :)
I'm thinking seriously about the crumbling rubble of the watch tower. That one really speaks to me. My next step is to find the artist that will do the work. And of course, to decide the least painful place to put it. haha.
That is what I need next. Least painful place to put it. Tell me what you think. Arm? Shoulder? Thigh? What has been your experience?
Does that make me sound chicken? OK, Maybe a little. But I will overcome! I am woman! Someone WILL hear me ROAR!
Thanks everyone!

And don't worry rip van winkle, I'll be hating the JW's for a VERY long time. And if I change my mind, I hope someone will slap me and show me my tattoo!!!!

Leaving_Quietly - I like the old logo! that kills two birds with one stone. NICE!
Besty - I have thought about the Freedom aspect. I'm not ruling that out. Just haven't seen anything that has spoken to me yet. Any pictures would be appreciated.

Sorry for the previous post..... I fat fingered and can't figure out how to delete it...
I want a Tattoo, but I want it to make a statement. And that statement is that I think the JW's are a cult and bad in all ways.
I'm an atheist now, but I don't want to get an Atheist tattoo. It's just too cliche for me. Have you ever seen the Toxic symbols for religion? That is really cool, but they don't include the JWs and I'm not sure how I could. I thought about adding the Watchtower symbol as the T, but you Just GOTTA have the Cross!
So I'm coming to you, for some ideas. I'm hoping someone here has thought of this before and came up with something unique and awesome.
Thanks for any help you can give

Just a thought here, but if MIL is a true believer, then she thinks she is saving that child's life and hopefully yours in the process. We all know they will stoop to very low means to get what they feel is a good outcome.
They have no 'actual' moral high ground. They will do whatever it takes. So be careful. She is waging a war and you are on the wrong side, as far as she is concerned.
Personally, I never allowed my mother to take my daughter to the Kingdom hall after she was a year old. But I did allow her to go with her Cousins. The Cousins were not about converting her. It was just a place they went three times a week. But when she was about 7, she got the story of how her Mommy ended up on her own at 17 because her grandmother left her behind when she moved out of town. How her Grandmother chose a religion over her own child. And her Mommy would never do that to her, because she loved her above all else.
In the end, my daughter grew up to be an intelligent young woman who puts family first, and doesn't believe in mythical drival. I'm very proud of her. Can you tell?
It can turn out ok. But I must say, It would be a hell of a lot easier if your wife was on your side. Communication will be the key.

As An EXJW Does Christmas Mean Anything To You?
by minimus ini've been thinking how correct the witnesses are regarding an aspect of xmas.
it is totally commercialized and it's big business and materialism.
having said that, i enjoy giving presents and recieving them.

I am an Athiest now, so Christmas has absolutely no religious value to me at all.
But I value it because it gives me time to spend with Family that I don't always get to see.
I still have family inside the Borg, so it makes the family outside that much more special to me. And I take the time to go see them and spend precious moments with them that I don't get with the family that is still inside.
Christmas is in our hearts if that is where you want it.
And just so everyone knows, I have no problem with the 'Christ' in Christmas. He means nothing to me, but that is the name of the holiday I celebrate and I have no problem with that.
Those that keep saying they need to 'Keep the Christ in Christmas', need to realize, they are the only ones who think it is going away.
Merry Christmas everyone!!!
