Did he ever post on here?
just wondering who here still attends meetings, and lives the jw life?
i guess its interesting for the context of peoples comments.
also does anyone have a position such as pioneer, ms, elder etc ?.
Hey cedars, don't let EE catch you saying that! Goodness knows what will befall you.
The Majority of JW's on here are either faders or stuck in the religion for other personal issues. Most of them know it's BS. Though you do get the occassional one that makes Hit & Run threads, or makes comments like "Is this site for apostates?" But they are gone as quickly as they arrive, most of the time.
step right up!
take your pick of any of the 100 billion or so people that ever lived.
who did you want to meet?
Nice stats, Lost. I was really surprised by the numbers I pulled up too. 100 Billion people, even using biblical time. Just shows how unrealistic it was all along.

Not pathetic irondork. I thought that was the only way I was gonna get married, too! Guess it's time for us to be proactive eh? Go find your man *squeeze* :)

I feel your pain Nambo. I wanted my old cat back too. Or in the likelihood animals dont get resurrected, we were thinking Jehoopla might extend their lives by 50 years or so, then it doesnt seem like such a blip compared to 200 trillion.
MrFreeze, Freddie should have been on my list. I grew up listening to Queen. Thinkers like Carl Sagan I only heard about after I left. But I guess if paradise was still a reality, I'd like to talk with him.
Nellie, I like your sentiment.
And dont worry BoC, i think everyone had a 'holding hands at sunset singing Kumbaya' fantasy.
A few more Biblical people, nice. Just say 'no' if Abraham asks to show you his knife collection. ;D

Step right up! Take your pick of any of the 100 billion or so people that ever lived. Who did you want to meet? Why? What did you want to ask them?
My list was pretty short. Incidentally there were very few Biblical characters.
• Thomas Andrews (Designer of the Titanic) - so me and him could build ships together, with plenty of deckspace; cause who needs a lifeboat in paradise?
• Henry VIII - Me being bezzies with Big H!! You can go places with friends like that. Also he was a total player, and I dig that.
• Alec Guinness - No explanation required.
• Noah - He lived on a boat and cleaned out animal poop for a year, quite an inspirational story.
Now you try!

My Grandad says Unicorns is talked about on this old scrap of paper he found outside a Nudey bar. He tells of it being a 3 thousand plus year cycle. The last time we had Unicorns we had the Flood, hence why there are no Unicorns right now.
The US Government have rainbow coloured saddles under Washington and Mt. Rushmore. If that doesn't convince you, I don't know what will.
snippet:.
1. current events and the ego.
people use drama to report events of their own times, always making it appear more important than past events of similar or greater importance.
Of course. Perspective is everything. But I don't think you'll find it in the JW Dictionary.
Good post.
i just do not care about her at all, but i was wondering what do you think about her?.
I like Joyce Meyer with my tea and crumpets.
richard dawkins at a recent conference for atheist, told his followers to mock muslims and christians for their stupid beliefs!
we have been down the path of this kind of thinking dawkins, harris and peter singer promote, it lead to the near irradication of the jews, gypsies, disabled, mentally ill and any other undesirables who were not contributing to the greater good of hitler's, stalin's, pol pot and mao's ideals.. .
can we address the issue at hand, how would you debate peter singer's statement that a "pig is more valuable than a disabled child, human"?
You misconstrued Singer's comment.
The full quote for those who don't click the link is;
"The life of a fetus is of no greater value than the life of a nonhuman animal at a similar level of rationality, self-consciousness, awareness, capacity to feel, etc.”Singer says, “If we compare a severely defective human infant with a nonhuman animal, a dog or a pig, for example, we will often find the nonhuman to have superior capacities, both actual and potential, for rationality, self-consciousness, communication and anything else that can plausibly be considered morally significant.”
It's not a moral position, he's just stating a fact. Are you saying a fetus has more rationality than say, a fly? Can a healthy animal communicate and reason better than a severely mentally handicapped child? What exactly is your problem with this?
I also think it's funny that you're aggrieved at Dawkins comments about 'mocking' religion, but you wouldn't mind seeing him hung drawn and quartered. In actuality you wish him to be murdered. I wonder which would be the greater misdeed?
