The Ex-Mormons Did It! Why Can't We???

this happened in june of 2012 and i just recently discovered this inspiring video.

of course, the majority of mormons are more centrally located in and around utah, but imagine if the doubting jws who are still inside (myself included) had the chitzpah to pull off something like this!.

i just saw this movie last night and just loved it.

it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Loved 90% of the movie. Thought the ending was a little anticlimactic. Like....that's it....oookkaaayyy.....but good flick.

i came across a series of youtube videos presented by an ex jw and thought the story he has to tell and the videos he presents are amazing.. the young man is only 19 years old, he was baptized at the age of 14. he has made over 150 videos.

many of his initial videos takes the viewer step by step through his judicial committees.

there is over 4 hours of taped video of the proceedings and he provides his own commentary after each 15 minute taping.. ethan was eventually disfellowhipped for three reasons.

The JC recordings are great. Incredibly well prepared and thought out responses. He is two steps ahead if the elders the whole time. At the end he invites them to dinner after they decide to DF him. Classic. His other videos are kinda him just ranting and talking trash but the JC ones are pretty great. (just audio no video)

26% drop in auxiliary pioneers in "special month" between 2011 and 2012

i don't recall seeing this posted on this board before, my apologies if the topic is duplicated..... in april 2011 and march 2012, the gb made a "loving provision" to allow jws to sign up for the auxiliary pioneer work with only a 30 hour requirement instead of the usual 50 hours.. in 2011, in the usa, about 500,000 signed up to be auxiliary pioneers.. in 2012, per the august 2012 km, only about 370,000 signed up.. that's a 26% drop in just 1 year!.

granted, in many parts of the us, the march weather is far worse than april's.

but on the other hand, there were 5 saturdays in march 2012 - you could get your "time in" with 5 long saturdays and nothing else.. .

Updating the NWT again

i could not believe my ears when my father told me recently that his circuit overseer (2 weeks ago) said that there are 5 scriptures that the society is going to revise.

has anyone else heard of this?

if any of them have to with jesus i am going to tell my parents to run not walk out the kingdom hall, yikes!

Yeah man that Job 14:14 one came up while I was conducting a study. He read it from his paperback newer nwt and I followed along in my "Deluxe" nwt. I was like what the hell man! Went home and researched and couldn't find any explanation. Even local newspapers send out notice of they have to make a retraction. Why can't the gb let us....cuz they are sneaky lying bastards...that's why. (I'm not so much bother by the change in phrasing cited in Job...just that they feel at liberty to change the bible and rules and conscience matters without offering explanation or reason. And I'm supposed to just blindly obey!!?? Puhhhhleeeezzzz!)

ok, so this week the bh was from ezekiel.

the brother starts by talking about a prophecy of egypt being laid desolate for 40 years.

he then says there is no evidence in secular history that this happened.

Every BH for the last few weeks this one brother manages to work in a comment about how "if we don't see things how the slave see things OUR way is not adjusted right. If the slave says it, it is the same a Jehovah saying it. Trust and obey!" Makes me sick too!
