On The Art Of Fading
by expatbrit inin october of 2000, i faded away from the watchtower.
like most people, i have family and friends who are jw's (including my wife and parents).
fading is generally the best method for people in that situation.

We would always go out drinking as a crew afterwards. One elder brother on our crew really likes to drink. So during the course of the evening we, including the elder, all had a little too much. He ends up tripping in the parking lot and sprains his wrist. The next day we are all completely worthless because of being hung over and terrified he or someone would confess what had happened. None of us ever ratted the others out and it remained our tradition to drink Friday night. never to the degree we did that time but still a fond memory of mine.

....and a new wrinkle
by outsmartthesystem inso i was giving my daughter a hug at bed time last night.
she stands up at the foot of her bed and wraps her arms around my neck.
she then asks why i don't serve jehovah anymore.

Try not to think to much of it. Kids can come up with this stuff "on their own". If they go to meetings they are coached at meeting. Not necessarily by family or friends but from the stage. My kids say the same kinda crap and I am possitive with my kids no one is coaching them. It's just cuz they are "trained" so well. From infancy. I personally think it will fade with time. Just keep being a good dad like I'm sure you are(tucking your daughter in at night is evidence of this) and it will be ok.

Code Words for Fade Mode?
by SophieG inthere has got to be some kind of code word system to find out if someone you know is in "fade mode"!
lol!!!
what do you do when you suspect a jw is on the way out?...you may notice that they don't talk about meetings or service on social media...they don't even list jw as their religion.

Almost anything we try to do to identify ourselves to other faders or those that are mentally runs the risk of being used for nefarious purposes by those wishing to 'keep the congregation clean'. So with that in mind any signal has to be something that can easily be dismissed as a misunderstanding or mistake if picked up on by the wrong person. Maybe something like this:

"Do J W's HAve Women Ministers? Sept 1st Watchtower 2012
by BluesBrother inthe sept 1st 2012 watchtower carries the article "our readers ask - do jehovah's witnesses have women ministers?".
the first words of the article provide a straight answer "yes, worldwide jehovah's witnesses have several million women ministers"however, the aricle goes on to explain their limitations in that they are not permitted to teach the congregation, "the audience of their ministry is different" .
they also do not preside or have oversight.. that opening sentence is a masterpiece of fallacious reasoning, using the well established method of equivocation ie.

@Kurtbethel: One who uses language so deceptively CANNOT be trusted. Watchtower does that stuff all the time. Look at how they lied to Bulgeria with their clever verbal acrobatics...liars.

Circuit Accounts Servants Confesses how the SCAM WORKS!!
by JT inyes, i too have wondered how an assembly that is held in a fully paid for assembly hall, with no food service, could possibly have $10,000 in expenses.
i suppose the bethel speakers have transportation expenses - maybe $1000 or so.
as for rent on the assembly hall, well you have already paid for it once, why pay again?
-
Sheep2slaughter
I haven't donated in probably 4 years. Not for publications, meetings, assembly hall(currently under construction locally), conventions....none of that. Only donations I have made are to help pay for insurance and maintenance on a handicapped brothers van. Watchtower doesnt get any of our money.

Yeah me personally...lots of meetings. I am in the process of getting my "privileges" back. They are wise to me not drinking the Kool-Aid anymore so I have been having more meetings than most would like. Going on 4 in the last 7 weeks since I have one coming up! Lol!!!

Like so many said; law I forcemeat needs to be kept I in check. Speed traps are often a cash grab. She's a hero in my book.
Personal experience: I had a buddy that had a speeding problem. Finally lost his license. Straw that broke the camels back was him speeding and not recognizing he was in a school zone. I had no compassion for him. He was a danger. So it's not that I'm anti law enforcement, just the bullshit stuff like this sounds like.
