there was a time we could laugh about mindless silly things.

someone using an ethnic accent, making fun of their own race, making fun of someone’s intelligent, etc.

Justin Trudeau has apparently been caught in 'brown face'.A picture has emerged of him 'browning up' at an Arabian themed party from 2001.

And he should be allowed to dress as anybody he wants to, as long as it's not in the intent of disparaging. If someone decides they will dress up as a character who happens to be of another skin color at halloween, and it's done in good spirit, then this is totally fine.

The issue are the droves of idiots, that spend their days trying to come with things to complain about. Just part of the outrage society we live it.

As I told my mother recently, when we start hearing about western countries changing their constitutions to abolish freedom of religion, then I will start attending meetings again. Until then there is simply no evidence that any of this stuff will happen.

No politician is looking to have mass rioting on the streets to deal with because religion is suddenly outlawed.

Well said. in fact i've never hard a JW using the complexity of DNA to support creationism. Dare I say that most JWs don't even know how complex DNA is.

The main reason are always the fact that Bible says God created everything, and the disbelief that human could actually have come from "monkeys" ( as they put it).

The Republican establishment, in all of its disgustingness (other side of Dem establishment coin) handed Trump John Bolton. Even with his mental limitations, Trump was able to figure out that Bolton is a corrupt war hawking POS.

Well said. Probably the most enlightened comment of the entire thread. Bolton was put in place because the Republican establishment wants a war. Being engaged in a war around election time would pretty much seal the election as it did for Bush.

However the Buffoon King is not cooperating. Inviting the Taliban to the US for talks around the 9/11 anniversary . Even Bolton must have had a facepalm moment at that move. No wonder he had to jump ship.

Trump is the new Teflon Don. No matter what he does, whether it is talking about sexually assaulting women, defending dictators, inviting active terrorists for meetings, etc, nothing sticks to him. All of the brainless drones still praise him. Even the Governing Body wishes they had such a good spell on their masses.

Ohh, and by the way, i'm watching the Democratic debate and it's becoming clear the Orange Drumpt will win again in 2020. The core of the Left is completely lost in a sea of extreme left platforms, which will cause the moderate electorate to at best stay home on election day.

All I've heard is: Free 13,000 drug offenders from prison, abolish deportations, protect illegals, ban AR-15 (yes they actually specify the brand)

Even Biden got attacked for deporting illegals with Obama. Evidently even he is too much to the right at this point.

Perhaps one day people will start voting with their heads instead of with their team Jerseys. What i see on both the Left and Right (thought perhaps more salient on the Right), is the blind adherence to whatever the team puts forward.

To me it seems if the Republican party puts forth a scare crow as their next candidate, all the conservatives drones will go dancing on the streets praising it. We know this is true, because if Drumpft had run as a Democrat and won, the same people that are here defending Trump would be now having a field day feasting on the copious amounts of stupidity emanating from him.

Now, to my mind, a scare crow would actually be a better President, because Mitch McConnel and special interests groups would continue running the country as they are now, but at the very minimum the scare crown would not embarrass us at every turn.

i was on facebook and a person i have known for a long time posted how trump is mentally ill and is truly a psychopath.

a couple of her friends chimed in when i suggested that perhaps the fb friend was really the psychopath.

a couple of her friends began to defend her but i was surprised by how many people defended the president!

None have been great men or even good men. But in just a few short years it is very apparent that the current POTUS is mentally unbalanced and is a dangerous human to occupy such an important position on the world stage!

Agreed! And that's basically the issue. We don't even expect a US president to be perfect anymore. We know whatever US president is office there will be some stumbles and valid criticisms.

But the avalanche of inadequacies coming from this president is just embarrassing. And this has nothing to do with right vs left -- many of us don't give a shit about aligning with any political cults.

Even the people around him can't stand the situation. It's no wonder that Bolton jumped ship and we are on to the 4th national security advisor in 3 years.

What was that? What's that sound of laughter we hear? Oh it's just the rest of the world chuckling about this banana republic.

Anyone Tried "Sous Vide" Cooking?

i like a nice steak but cooking one can be a little intimidating and the results hit and miss especially when it comes to getting the right temperature so getting it wrong can be an expensive mistake.

can anyone do that "finger and thumb together to check the doneness" thing?

i can't .... so i came across this cooking technique called "sous vide" which cooks food (in a sealed vacuum bag) in a warm water bath, even steak.

Hmm, never tried it, but makes sense. An added benefit also is that when you grill things, you end up burning little bits of the meat, which is not great for your health. This method seems to cook similar to boiling.

My only doubt is about heating food while it's in contact with plastic (bags) or vice versa. I understand there is bleed from plastic onto food, this is why it's not recommended to heat things for too long in plastic inside a microwave or let you plastic water bottle in a locked car under the sun.

Aside from this, sounds like I would try it.

why is it that (almost) every pro Trump advocate sounds angry, and frankly unhinged even on message boards, truly sad.

But wait, didn't other horrible US presidents like Nixon, John Tyler, Andrew Johnson, also have advocates in their time?

Well yes, they sure did, and that's also nothing to be proud of.
