  i’m sick and tired of listening to white people begging for forgiveness simply because they are white.

  I don’t believe anyone is privileged. The reason can be seen in siblings coming from the same family. Some have economic success. Others don’t fare so well. Why is that?

  So just because there are cases where some people are not able to make use of what they have going for them, that means they never had an advantage?

  If you and I are running the 100 meter dash, and I start 10 meters ahead of you, but you have worked out and watched you diet, and ended up passing me and won, this mean I didn't have an advantage to begin with?

  I don't think it is. Anyone can make it and be successful, the formula is a very simple one:

  Sure, but I don't think that conflicts with what I said. I'm simply saying that the majority of middle class and especially upper middle class is white, this does not mean that anybody else can't join it if they pull the right levers in life.

  Privilege is a multi dimensional phenomenon. Every person has some sort of privilege compared to other folks. It's not white vs black.

  Blacks have an advantage for playing in the NBA, or Football. They are most likely to succeed as a rapper and many other things.
  Likewise a white upper middle class kid with a stable family probably has an advantage in some sense of having parents that prioritize education and career mindset. Are there more white folks in middle class? Yes, but so what? that has hundreds of years in the making.

  Bill Gates' kids have an advantage over countless people, but so do Denzel Washington's kids. If you are poor black person with nearly nothing living in Detroid, you have an advantage over a black kid growing up in a village in Somalia.

  You can't regulate advantage. The only thing you can regulate is to have a framework of laws that gives the same opportunity to people.

  In 1492, the first blacks slave arrived on American shores
  in 1865, slavery was officially ended.
  It took about 372 years for that change to take effect and another 99 years for the Civil Rights act to be signed.
  Change takes time

  ...that's exactly my point. Whatever change happened was done by addressing the problem as a whole. BLM is for all intents and purposes an anti-police movement, in the same vein as Occupy Wallstreet and similar anti establishment groups.

  But you deflected the question (don't think I didn't notice). I'm not asking if BLM has saved the world. I'm asking what is BLM doing in that space to effect change, aside from waiting for the next black person to die in police custody?

  the statement seems to suggest that they want to deal with the issues/practice of absent "men/fathers" that pushes black women to work "double shifts" in order to care of their children.
  What is wrong with that?

  Nothing, but those are just words that sound nice. Now, BLM has been around for 7 years, so what exactly has been done in this space?

  I can also create an organization called "Save all cute kittens" and do nothing except wait for a police car to run over one, so I can have my moment in the sun and advance my anti-establishment propaganda.

  That said, you know there is something called "rock music" and "heavy metal"? Have you paid any attention to the lyrics and message or do prefer the beats of gangster rap?

  Neither. I listen to podcasts mainly. I try to expose myself to content that educates me and challenges my mind.

  The datas show that white poors commit crimes in the same rates than black poors.
  As a french I really don't care at all about dems or reps, liberal or conservatives propaganda, that's really an only US-centered concern.

  Maybe in your country. Why do you assert to know exactly the root cause for this phenomenon in the US? Have you ever lived here? I grew up in Newark, NJ about 15 minutes outside of New York City. Have you ever been here? Or Camden NJ, or Paterson NJ? You probably would not live there for more than 5 minutes.

  Anybody that has lived in or around the inner city in a major US city understands the connection between race and crime and how it breaks along community lines. I don't care how it is in France, because you don't have the same population as we do.

  Given that, what does it imply about the official stand of BLM, taken directly from their official website?
  We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

  It's pretty easy to understand what they are saying, which is basically:

  -We've all been told that you need a family (a caring mom and dad that nurture you) to have a decent upbringing. We are now saying that the solution for that is for the community to step in and compensate for that. -

  Now, despite the nice words. How exactly is that being done? Where are the fruits of that supposed effort? What programs and workshops in the community is BLM currently running to effect this plan?

  Here's an idea... how about BLM take a position against music that glorifies the thug life, and that calls women bitches and hoes and looks down at men that love their women? Perhaps that would be a good start, but here is the thing... It simply does not fit the oppression narrative.

  I've heard that nonsense as well. Seems that it's the latest insanity from the extreme left. They have basically become a cult. Now I've said as well that this happen on the right, but the extreme left has now lost it completely.

  What's interesting about this is basically what Jordan Peterson says -- basically that we can quickly identify what is means to be on the extreme right. But somehow nobody can really tell what is the extreme left because they keep getting validated, under penalty of being called nazi.

  Trump must be licking his chops right now. He knows moderates who were bound to snub him in the election are seeking refuge from the insanity in his base. Trump was almost ready to throw in the towel with the virus devastation, but now all of a sudden he is back in the game.
