Global Entry / PreCheck at US Airports
by RubaDub infor those who travel, such as attend international conventions (lol, i had to add a jw thing into this thread), do you have the precheck thing for the airports?
this is the thing where you go in a separate line and don't have to take your shoes off and do all the things that most people do.. it does cost money, about $85 for 5 years.. but for those who travel internationally, the global entry thing is well worth the money.
for only $15 more ($100 total for 5 years) it includes precheck within the us and then entry back into the us without the typical long lines at customs.

Just another way for the government to make money, under the guise making you safe.
I have travelled with pre-check privileges because I was traveling with someone that has it, but I have never signed up. Don't have to take jacket off, no shoes off, no laptop off, in exchange of a subscription service for all intents and purposes. And BTW, how did they clear me? I was only traveling with someone that has it.
The whole thing is just a scheme to collect more money from the sheep. No, you are not safe because of it, just like you are not safer because of the "TSA theater" that they put together at the airport. The whole apparatus is set up to catch the average joe who forgot the pocket knife in their carry on, not actual terrorists.
Any terrorist organization with mediocre planning will be able to place a bomb on a plane.

Outcast Doctrines
by Socrateswannabe inin a recent post about the watchtower’s claim that all animals were created as vegetarians, one commenter said that watchtower could no longer sustain this belief so they simply stopped talking about it.
i began thinking about other wacky doctrines and statements by the borg that have faded away.
i’ll offer two of them below, but the complete list must be longer than your arm.. 7000 year-long creative days: watchtower once taught that each of the creative days was 7,000 years in duration, hence the hype leading up to 1975. they believed that year marked 6,000 years since adam’s creation, and oh how nicely the 1,000-year reign would fit as the last piece of the puzzle, thus completing the final “day”.

Just something that comes to mind about the "Cross" business. Jehovah allowed the Romans to kill Jesus, no interference, so why should he interfere with the common Roman way of Public execution ?
Arguing that the Cross was a Pagan Symbol is simply nonsense, that would mean that every piece of wood, whatever its use, if it had a crosspiece, was a pagan symbol. What nonsense.Yup good points. We know from a historical perspective that romans really did crucified criminals in an actual cross. This actually made complete sense because it was less work for them. The stake would be a permanent structure, and then each time someone was crucified, they nailed to the patibulum (crossbar) and then hung on the stake. Imagine having to dig a hole to put a stake every time. They weren't complete idiots.
Also, yes who cares if the cross was a pagan symbol, which it was. This would not prevent the Romans from thinking that was the perfect shape to use for executions.

The article in part says:
"At the time, Mr Azaria - who also provides the voice of popular characters Moe Szyslak and Chief Wiggum, among others - said he found it "very upsetting to me personally and professionally" that anyone was marginalised because of Apu."
What an incredibly patterning thing to say. How little credit does this guy give to society that he thinks that this character is going to make society hate Indian people (assuming the character is indian).
How long before mafia movies are banned so that italians are not stereotyped we don't just assume all Italians are mobsters?
Every instance of this stupidity, gets Trump closer to another 4 years. Reasonable people are tired of this nonsense.

Do you have dark tinted windows on your vehicle?

I guess police in your area have a lot of free time
Well, i would argue that police should enforce all laws on the books. In a way that's what separates us from third world countries.
I have been to third world countries, where most laws on the books are mostly suggestions and the police only come when someone is actually killed.

Drug-Sniffing Dogs Getting Retired at Airports
by RubaDub ini found this interesting in the news that dogs used to sniff for drugs at airports are being significantly cut back here in the us due to the increased legality of marijuana at the state level (though technically still illegal at the federal level) and passengers arriving from canada.
a large number of the dogs are being put into early retirement.. i learned that dogs can be trained to sniff for drugs but once they "learn" a smell, they cannot unlearn it.
basically, there is no difference to them between marijuana or cocaine or meth.

A nation of doped up, pacifist, lazy, gender-confused morons who can't decide which bathroom to use, so they piss and shit out in the street
Hyperbolic nonsense as usual. I wonder if they said exactly the same when the country came out of prohibition -- i'm sure they did.

In my area, police do stop and ticket drivers with dark tint on front windows. They want to be able to see how is driving, which makes sense. Likewise nobody should be allowed on the street wearing a burka

When "all" is not "everyone" or "everything."
by Wonderment inwe keep seeing posters bringing col. 1.16 and john 1.3 up as proof that christ is excluded from the creative acts.
the proof they submit is that the words "all things [gk., pánta]" appear in these texts.
however, they are missing this important element from the discussion: the word "all" is rarely used in greek, and even in our everyday language to mean literally "everyone" or "everything" under the sky.

One must wonder if an all-powerful, all-knowing god, would not be able to foresee that humans in the future would be bickering on this one point, to the extend that they must engage is grammatical debate If this god was actually all-knowing and smart, he would make sure to be pretty clear with his words, and there would be no room for discussion.

Just a correction that I was speaking in general terms, and not about any one person. I have no reason to insult you.
And also it's really sad that folks who thrive to have a cleaner planet, are now assigned a term (environmentalism), which has the stink of a religious cult.
I reject that term and others like it -- they are best suited for types who refuse science in exchange of ideology.
Again in general terms.

Who make up the new memorial partakers?
by jwfacts inwhen the doctrine regarding 1935 being the close of the calling was done away with in 2007, it was not unexpected to see the number rise.
over the next few years it went from around 8,500 to 10,500. this seemed to indicate that there were a couple of thousand people that may have felt they had the calling all along, but too shy to profess it.
for the 30 year period between the mid 1978 and 2007, parktakers had barely dropped.

What is Narcissistic Personality Disorder?
It’s a nice feeling to be admired. It naturally makes us feel good and feel important.Bingo. And by the way, if the number had continued to go down, the GB would not have shifted their position on who is the FDS.
A few thousand egos, ruined it for the entire bunch.
