Once you get an audience, you feel the pressure of having a steady stream of content, and the reality is that there is only so much you can saw about the Watchtower. -

After the Covid-19 crisis: what will happen?
by Gorbatchov inwhat will happen after the covid-19 crisis?.
- economy with all the stand still corporations, people without work and mass injections of support money?.
- politics with the end of globalisation, closed borders and new geopolitic friends (italy / china russia), lack of support and working together in eu and local politics, did the current politician the right thing?.

I am actually looking forward to all the Jdubs having to tuck their tail between their legs and have no other choice than to abandon the parallel hysteria of the end of world coming.
I have been seeing on Facebook the frenzy of jdubs posting nonsense about the big A being here...final of the final days...yadda yadda... this is it. What horseshit.
One actually posted something about the UN calling for a truce on all conflicts until the end of this crisis, as being evidence that this is the proclamation of peace right before the end.
The reality is that once this is done they will go back to crossing their arms and just wait for the next world crisis to get their panties in a bunch again.

"We're In The Last Days Of The Last Days!"... So Say's Old Rubberface
by pale.emperor inhave you seen this on jworg?.

JWs are in a mix of panic and excitement. Doomsday cults feed on cyclical crisis. I'm sure all JWs are tuning in to the cult news outlet thinking they will have some special information from Jellohoba.
But the reality is that the cult leaders know jack-shit about any of this, and grasping at straws. Once this crisis is over, it's back to crossing your arms and wait for the next crisis.

What Makes. Person A Pedophile?
by minimus init seems the news always has another report of a pedo stalking children or hurting them.
i know this has gone on forever but i read another report of an illegal alien with a history of abuse taking advantage of another poor child.. i just don’t understand why some people do this.
is there an actual brain abnormality?
-
redvip2000
It would improve the safety of children if somebody who has sexual attraction of minors could go to their doctor and admit to that and volunteer for chemical castration and ongoing counseling and monitoring.
Some people's brains are wired that way. It doesn't excuse them acting on that impulse but they need help to control it.Yeah, agreed and this is unfortunate, because genetics gives a really tough hand of cards to some folks. We really need to stop pretending that we are all the same, and that beyond that it's all about choosing to do the right vs wrong things.
Just be thankful that you were not born with an addictive personality.

Joe Biden or Donald Trump?
by Iamallcool init looks like joe biden might be the next president of united states!
your thoughts?
.

I thought Biden would be left in the dust, but such is life. I don't think he is a good candidate. He looks confused some times and he is not sharp anymore -- definitely showing his age.
But I still rather have him than crazy Warren, or any other extreme left candidates. I think Biden will win the nomination, and I think he will the election also due to his helpful association with Obama, which continue to be popular. Looking at the numbers, it's pretty clear that there are a lot more votes overall, so many of the folks who stayed home on election day will turn out this time, and they are turning out for Biden.
I will vote for Biden i guess, given the other option is an egomaniac unhinged troll, who captured the White House on the backs of idiot Americans.
Trump will get the votes of the people who are expected to vote for him regardless of how he acts or does, but there will be more votes on the other side this time I think.

Greta Thunberg, Worse than Plague
by Simon inso greta thunberg thinks the world pollutes too much.
specifically, the parts of the world that pollute the least and have the cleanest industries.
she doesn't seem to care about india or china who are the biggest polluters by far.. "how dare they".

I don't think her age is an issue. If she was some prodigy that has studied the science and was knowledgable about it I'd be more than happy to listen to her.
And yet, you and others don't listen to the entire science community that DID study science and IS knowledgeable.
I guess the key is to get the conservative propaganda apparatus to finally agree with science so that ideology-driven skeptics can also get on board.

Well if you agree with Greta, that the situation is so dire, the Coronavirus has done far more than she ever has to reduce pollution.
Well sure.. The reality is that the Coronovirus is a lot more scary than Greta.
For all intents and purposes, humans are great at reacting to immediate threats that are tangible, and where you can see the impact, but we are terrible at reacting to things which are slow in being manifested.
You can see this in every aspect of our lives. Smokers are ok with each puff of cigarettes they take, even as it helps them inch closer to cancer. After all, they get up everyday and feel ok, they can eat, go to work, enjoy their lives, all is seemingly well. But as soon as pain hits, and they feel the impact, now it's "all hands on deck", immediately stop smoking, change their diet, and do everything they can do reverse it. Why didn't they do it when they had the chance?
It will be the same with climate change. You get up, it's cold outside, how could there be climate change? You can still eat well, watch tv, go out, take vacations, buy a new car... so you kick the can down the street.
But once the oceans rise enough that some cities become unlivable and causes massive displacement of population, or when weather patterns change, and once fruitful growing areas slowly become deserts, then you can bet that even the most delusional skeptic will have to bow down to science, and beg government to implement policies that will reverse the course the history at a time when it'll be too late to do it.

Coronavirus / Covid-19 - The canary in the coal mine
by JimmyYoung inis anyone prepping by buying food that has a long shelf life?
i have been messing with it for years.
buying fat free powder milk, bullion cubes, rice, beans dried, and other things that has a shelf life of 25 years.

Like others, I have been thinking about it. I do have a short supply of canned food always stored, but nowhere near what you would consider being prepared.
I will probably buy a bucket of emergency food online to last a few months, in case the zombie apocalypse hits. I do have a small propane stove, a good supply of lighting options, including batteries, flashlights, oil lamp.
I don't have a backup for water, I guess i'm hoping it wouldn't get turned off.
Sometimes I wonder the amount of chaos churned from a serious disruption of services. I'm pretty sure society would turn into a jungle. It is well knows that nearly half Americans don't even have a few bucks saved for emergencies, so you can be sure they are zero prepared in any other way.
Looting and rioting would soon follow especially in cities where people are piled up and heavily depend on supply chains.

May 2020 Watchtower They Admit, they don't know
by Listener inthey'll write pages and pages of stuff and yet they don't have any idea.. here's a paragraph from their latest speculations on future events, bolding is mine.. a prophecy recorded by ezekiel gives some insight into what may happen during the last days of the king of the north and the king of the south.
if we view the prophecies of ezekiel 38:10-23; daniel 2:43-45; 11:44–12:1; and revelation 16:13-16, 21 as speaking about the same time period and events, it appears that we can expect the following developments.. that's an awful lot of assumptions to make.
what they've done is picked out various scriptures from different parts of the bible and now state that they may or may not be talking about the same events.

@OP,
You didn't list specifically what they are implicitly predicting. It would be nice to see that as well if you can.

Michael Bloomberg—what’s your opinion of him?
by minimus inand do you think he has a chance to win it all?
?.

It seemed to be so necessary simply because Trump didn’t offer his.
Again, no. Nobody created a rule for Trump. It is standard practice that every POTUS discloses tax returns in an effort to be transparent. Logically they have all disclosed it, because they have nothing to hide.
This is how you know the type of Trump supporter that has been brainwashed. It's the same type of stupidity as when JWs say that they are ok with the Watchtowell not opening their financial books, because they trust their leader.
Idiots and gullible morons who rather stay in step with their cult affiliation than knowing the naked truth about things.
