- You can live 2 days without proper shelter
Where? Antartica? You can live much longer without shelter as long as the temperatures cooperate.
as your family considers its disaster preparedness plan, please ensure that the secretary has up-to-date contact information for you and your emergency contact.
also, we have re- peatedly seen good results when brothers and sisters are prepared with go bags and are ready to obey direction when they face various kinds of disasters.
please be sure you have a go bag, and review its contents at least once a year.

lett has announced in the latest video update that jehovah has dignified the brothers by now letting them to choose for themselves whether they want to have a beard or not -.
https://www.jw.org/en/news/region/global/2023-governing-body-update-8/.
this applies worldwide and to all brothers in any position..
A curious detail.... beards were already allowed in some countries. The Org has alway made some allowances when it comes to appearance in some countries where there are some cultural nuances.
on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.
I'm pretty sure that when the liquor store scandal broke out, the Org saw him more as a liability from an optics perspective and "asked" him to bow out gracefully. They gave him a house and a stipend in exchange of making sure he keeps quiet about the inner workings of the Org.
i heard of a jw wedding that:.
(a)wasn’t done in a kh, and was performed by an elder.
(b)the ceremony was done on a sunday.. i find this surprising for 2 reasons.
I can tell you that when I got married, an elder officiated the ceremony and it was not held at a KH. And it was a Sunday I believe. So it can be done.
i didint search to see if its been talked about.
big news for jws sheeple , no more reporting.
.
To do this, and to keep counting hours with pioneers makes no sense. This is almost like saying, we trust the regular publishers, but we need to keep an eye on pioneers.
The only thing that makes sense is to also go on an honor system with pioneers. If they do this, then those numbers will be nicely padded as well. More people will become pioneers knowing that nobody is looking anyway.
I suspect it won't be long before they do this.
this is going to break the hearts of a lot of uber-jw's!
reddit has now removed the video link of samuel herd telling jw's they will no longer have to report time or placements - just tick a box which says "active.".

Being a JW is so much easier now. No reports, no minimum hours. Litteratrash carts where you can just stand there and do nothing. Zoom meetings, zoom memorials.
The org is making it easier than every to be a cult member, hoping it will cause people to stick around and not leave. They have to do that. The writing is on the wall.

Predictable. If the numbers were great they wouldn't do this. The trend is to stop counting everything (except money) to hide the decline.
The Org is always right. Before Jws would defend this saying that Jellohoba wants his people to stay organized, reports are needed, bla bla bla.. Now i'm sure they will defend this too saying that only Jellohoba needs to keep track, we need to simplify things bla bla bla.
I always thought that eventually they would scrap preaching entirely, but with this move, they actually don't need to do that. They are basically saying..."preach if you want to preach, we don't care".
even though i'm disfellowshiped ( & i belive wrongfully so).
i still belive this is the truth.
i have been d'f for about 8 months now and working on reinstatement.
Most of us have gone through that journey. When I first stopped attending, I still thought the Org was the truth, though I saw holes in the doctrine, and I asked the same question of who else is better.
Then eventually I came to the conclusion JWs were not the truth, and there was probably no true religion, but I believed in God, so I decided I would go to a non-denomination church that only taught the bible.
Then I realized it didn't make sense to just assume the Bible was truth, because the only reason I believed in it was because I had been born in the West. If I had been born in the middle east I probably woudn't, so I decided I had to take a step back and stop assuming and actual question the teachings of the bible.
Finally after some years of this journey, I had no resort but to finally admit there was no real holy book, and no evidence that God even exists.
in the sermon on the mount, jesus foretold that earthquakes “in one place after another” would be part of the sign of the last days clímaxing in the great tribulation.. what could jesus possibly have meant?
using a phone app nowadays, there are earthquakes detected in one place after another but is this what jesus meant and did they have so many earthquakes throughout the centuries affter his prophecy or are these modern day detected earthquakes unique to this epoch?
how can we be sure unequivocally that modern day earthquakes are part of the sign fulfilling bible prophecy?.
In that passage Jesus is basically talking about people if you read it. In that specific piece, the word he used I believe is translated as "agitations". Now, at some point some translators started using "earthquakes"
It doesnt' really fit with the passage. It makes a lot more sense to think that he meant there would be agitations of people, or people being agitated. That would fit a lot better with the things he was describing.
what's the current jw stance on retirement savings?
i know it changed.
pre1975 it was an attitude of "don't worry about retirement, this system is ending soon".
I've mentioned this before to people I know. If JWs really really believed in what they teach, they would sell their homes and plan to leave the last few years on savings in preparation for the big A.
Instead they instinctively know it's all BS, or at very best they are not really convinced it's true.
