  what saying made it all around the country?.

  the ones that were passed around, word of mouth.. for example.

  "donations basis proves jehovah is behind the work!".

  Ding dong with 4 JWs this morning

  the jws were out in our area this morning and i bolted downstairs before my wife could waive them away as she normally does.. two ladies (mum and 24 year old daughter i later found out) initially stopped as i opened with a comment about how i couldn't trust a thing they say because they are taught to practice theocratic warfare.. the mother blinked and asked me what that was ( so it began ) i informed them both that they are allowed to lie or at least be evasive with the truth with worldy people.

  she countered that they are taught not to lie so i again asked her if she knew what theocratic warfare meant and she again said no (first of my many - 'please go look that up' statements .).

  i then moved onto the idea that they couldn't think independently outside the organisation due to fear of being disfellowshipped and shunned.

  Tornapart, welcome. You make some excellent points, of course. Yet so did those responding to your post.

  There are no easy answers. We must all do what feels right to us. While it's true that doorstep conversions are non-existant, seeds can be planted. As Witnesses, that's what we were doing. And that's what the Qcember was doing.

  There is still a bit of anger in me over how I was treated by what were supposed to be my loving sisters and brothers. The hypocricy was astounding. They could take my gifts and my money and then turn their backs on me after a few words by a man on a platform.

  There was a lot of pain and anguish on my part. I survived it, but it wasn't easy. No Witnesses ever come to my door but if they did - if I took a few cheap shots after what I've been through - would it really be so bad? And please don't tell me I knew the rules before I got myself disfellowshipped. There was a lot I didn't know until I got disfellowshipped, such as the complete and utter conditionality of the "love".

  Uh - I guess they never heard about the Goddess Fortuna.

  Well, I'm somewhat improved.

  Thanks for the warm welcome. I am a bit surprised at the new posting limits but I can understand why they're necessary. Years ago, we joked that we were going to sell our unused posts for JWD on eBay. I can't recall if anyone actually ever listed them.

  I don't know who is in charge now, but I liked Simon and think he did a great job.

  I'm having a hard time figuring out this new board, sorry. Clarity - I love Christmas. I'm trying to lose weight but that turkey sounds wonderful!

  When I last posted, I was skinny. Now I could lose 10 pounds. Sad what age does to us.

  alot of members don't have a flag or country name beside their user name, and well frequently one doesn't know where that particular person is from, tell us your country, state, county or what ever you feel like giving out.

  if you are going to post please at least devulge your country.. me, i'm originally from taranaki, new zealand via auckland.

  for the most of this decade i have been living & working in brisbane, queensland, australia.. .

  I live in SE Pennsylvania now, but I'm a Jersey girl. Right now, I'm claiming Lanoka Harbor as my home, since I have a boat docked there.

  We got the boat free on Craig's List. Really. How LUCKY was that?

  Thanks so much for the warm welcome. If I tell you my former name, you'd all know how f-ed up I was back then!!!

  I've calmed down a LOT since then. Well, maybe not calm because I'm extremely anxious by nature, but I've learned a lot. I'm not as needy.

  I really am glad to be back and I look forward to getting to know the new members. I remember Mouthy, of course, a beautiful lady.

  Witnesses never come around here. This is not the area in which I became a Witness; it's in another state and maybe the congregation isn't as active here but still. Twice in 9 years isn't much. Maybe they figure we're all goats here or something. It's not as though JWs don't prejudge everyone anyway.

  But I digress.

  4 Witnesses is 4 too many. You did a great job, btw. I could never do anything like that.
