New here...need some support
by Freeof1914 infirst of all i am happy to be here..this site has been an invaluable tool which helped me get to the point where i am today.
i was born and raised as a jehovah's witness and i am now 30 yrs old.
my entire family are die hard witnesses; pioneers, elders, bethel etc.

The family story I've never told
by Celestial inthis took place in the 1970s (i'm 38).. .
all members of the story are or were jehovahs witnesses.
i've known this all my life but i've never told anyone.

Wacky Witness Parent Rules

my mother used to make me turn sesame street off when "the count" came on because count dracula was a real person who was under satan's influence and drank blood.. what completely whacked out rules did your parents make for you growing up?.

JWs Aren't Supposed To Give Blood Or Blood By Products To Their Pets
by minimus inin case of emergency or in their feeding.
yet if animals being given blood of any sort is so wrong, why do animals naturally eat other animals and consume their blood?.
jw's are so silly..

Oh gosh, this reminds me of when my mother went nutzoid over cat food -- writing letters to the cat food companies to make sure that the "by-products" did not contain blood. Sheer nuttiness.
Is it any wonder people think JWs are all psycho?

Exciting experience about Amish couple joining JWs - and the shunning begins!

i believe my daughter has informed her that i dont go to meetings any more, and i think my friend is trying to encourage me.
however, my daughter has shunned me, my husband and her two brothers for almost five years even though none of us are dfd.

some of you were really mean to me, and at this point in my life i can't handle such meanness.
i thought this would be my one place to truly express my feelings without too much mocking or insults from people who i thought were nicer, but i was wrong.

Also, you will NEVER get the understanding you need here because it's impossible for ANYONE to understand what it's like to be you ----- esp. electronically! So people give cookie cutter advice not knowing that the cookies don't really fit your situation and the next thing you know, you're feeling all kinds of misunderstood, unappreciated, etc.
Been there.
Take everything anyone says or writes WHO DOES NOT PERSONALLY KNOW YOU WELL with a grain of salt.
Finally, be a bit more understanding. Is it really fair to expect strangers to give you the love and attention you need so badly? No, it's not. And of course these strangers are going to fall short.
Learn to love and nourish yourself. Do what it takes to develop the skill of self-nurturing and self-love.
And I know you're going to get pissed off at this advice, too - but it's actually really good advice, considering I"m a stranger. :)

I don't really know who you are or anything of the story, but I will chime in anyway:
This can be a rough place.
But....
The world is a rough place.
It can also be a great place.
Do you want to miss out on the good things just because some people hurt your feelings?
Consider sticking around and just ignoring the people with whom you don't agree.
