WT has your info on Disk
by Patriot indogpatchs' post on the u.k.s df'd or da form reminded me of a conversation i had with a sister about 6 months ago who still works in bethel.. she work in the section where the wt makes copies of videos and tapes.. she was called to see the supervisor in of of the computer data entry sections (im sorry but i don't know the exact title of these jobs or "wings"), she had tried to get into that field due to her vast experience in computer networking before marrying a bethelite.. well she said that she walked into the offices only to be told that the sup.
was out for a minute.

Well she said that she walked into the offices only to be told that the sup. was out for a minute. While she was hanging out for the sup. she walked over to a desk where one of the sisters who was working got up and left the room.
She decided to take a peek at her work and was shocked to see that the material that she was inputing into the computer was a Judicial com. case where some brother apparently received oral gratification from some sister.
She pretended not to have seen anything and immediatley stopped reading. She was later interviewed and would be notified if they would use her or not.
I have not seen her since but often wonder if she is still there and more, if she is now entering other people info. into the WT hard drive.
Could the WT be compelled to provide this info. in the event of any type of lawsuit?

Why in the world would there be a check box for "deceased" on the bottom?
Do the elders dig the old files out and open up sealed envelopes in order to update the fact that a disfellowshipped person has past away?
If they're dead, what the hells the use of even keeping the file?
Or do they Df people after they're dead?
This org. never ceases to amaze me.

The brothers hacked my email!
by Erin injust learned that a group of jws hacked my email over a considerable period of time, hoping to intercept "incriminating" information in an attempt to disfellowship me!.
they printed up the emails and passed them out to other elders to "examine".
they were certainly very, very disappointed to not find anything they could "use".. the only outgoing emails from me they obtained were those attached to incoming mail as a result of some friends hitting "respond" when they wrote back to me.. the person who got into my email account is a ministerial servant who had previously worked on my business web site and therefore had my password.. he would download my email onto his computer, miles away, and then put everything back as "unread" so nothing would be "missing", when i accessed email from my computer.

Awake! 1/8/02 issue
by JAVA ini picked up the 1/8/02 issue of the awake!
in the waiting area while my car was being serviced yesterday.
when i see harmful literature in places like that, i follow the society's instructions and i hurl them in the trash.

I am in complete shock...I guess it just happens to be the elders in my old circuit that had that frame of mind.
It just goes on to show you how "United" Jws are really not at all united in beliefs. What is acceptable in some parts of the country are not in others. Thats rediculous.
It reminds me of a afro american brother who transferred to our hall. He preferred to sport a "baldy" (no hair). When One of the younger hispanic brothers thought that, that was "cool" and got one too, he was removed from the mics and attendants list because of his "outragoues" hair cut.
Again at that time it was common for many english speaking brothers to have baldies but not the hispanics. And when we tried to do the same..we got the ax.
Like I said, Im surprised.

Thank Jav for the post.
Is it just me or is it hard to believe that one can actually be a firefighter with responsabilities and be in good standing in the cong.?
I dont know if views have laxed since I was in but I know that even today in my old Cong. that would not be looked upon as a career that a "mature Jw" would accept.
The reason being that the WT stresses that jobs or even "adventures" such as bungee jumping, hard roller coaster riding, or parachuting that puts your life in constant danger are not for "Christians".
They claim that if you do participate in these things or jobs, you don't value your life thus demonstrating your lack of good judgement. In other words you wont be used to fill needs in the Cong. because you're not a "good example". And if your some type of peace officer with a weapon and you just happen to need it one day and kill someone, then you'll be Df'd.
It just seems odd that NYtele yesterday said that there is a firefighter who serves as an elder in his Cong. who had a few experiences from GZ. If thats true, then way to go!
Again, I don't know if that view has changed (like most everything the WT does) but it certainly was that way a few years ago.

Passes for Ground Zero
by Patriot instarting tomorrow the only way to have access to the viewing platforms that were built in order to let visitors have a "closer" look at the ruins at gz is by obtaining a "pass" being handed out every day early in the morning.. this to accomadate the large crowds and demands to view the ruins.. if you dont get a pass to be able to go up the 13ft.platform which can accomadate about 400 people at a time, then you have to view the ruins from the perimeter established.. i wanted to post this info.
in order to keep showing everyone that the wt boasts of having jws walking "around the debris" talking to others about the "truth" is a lie.. as you can see the closest that you can get is only through one of the viewing platforms-and now only with a pass.. and no freddy, i'm not talking about standing next to the bank and streching out your neck as far up as you can.. mav.-

Hey Detective,
Thats what Ive been trying to tell others on this board. I have no doubt that many Jws were preaching around the perimeter. I also believe that there were many nice "experiences" (since many people believed that the end of the world was around the corner and seeking some type of spiritual refuge).I also beleive just as NYt pointed out that there could be Firefighters or even police officers who might be studying (they would of course be required to quit their jobs if they want to be in "good" standing with the cong.) that have helped in other ways by speaking about hope found in the Bible.
But to get up in front of a Cong. and say that a group of Jws went into the Debris wading around placing books and magazines while the "bucket brigade" was going on is just completely rediculous.

What do I do?.......
by flower ini'm so upset the more i read and find out about the society.
its all hard to take for me but i'm accepting it more and more.
the problem i have is that i want so bad to tell my mom what i have found out.

HI Flower,
I know its tuff we've all been in that type of situation. But I think that it will be incredibly hard to convince your parents of any wrong doing on the WTs part.
I'd hate to say it but its been my experience that the older a person is the less they are likely to WANT to reason about anything.
Remember that you'll basically be telling her that she has been living a lie for the past 57 years and that her life was wasted on the WT. Many have gone into deep depression or even attempted suicide after learning the "truth" after so many years.
You also risk getting shunned by the Cong. and your parents. You'll be an apostate in their eyes.
Exodus who post here from time to time was a P.O. for many years because he did not want to hurt his mother by leaving after learning these things. But eventually he decided to tell her little by little and sooner or later people started getting the "feeling" that something was not right with him and eventually he was DFd for apostacy.
Its crazy, I know but if I were you I would have a place of my own before talking to your mom, because it could get ugly. Their first reaction might be to get the elders then it will be downhill from there on.
In any case I wish you good luck and hope the best for you and remember that you have many freinds here.

Bible characters and the makings of a pop band
by Celtic inhow many thousands of bible characters did we have to learn about?
now out of all of them, if you could pick and mix, which ones would you like to see together forming a pop band of their day, what tracks would they be performing, what genre of music and dare i ask for some lyrics, though i'm not sure if thats a permissable question, (oops, sorry god).
