Here's what has me pissed this morning:

There's this elder who I've know since I was about 8. He was one of these super spiritual M.S. and then elder who used to say things like: " What?, you got a flat tire?, well pray to Jehovah and you will see how he will take care of it...just pray.."

Well anyway, he moved away many several years ago to another Cong. in Manhattan. When I moved to my present address 5 years ago, guess who I bumped into that lived down the block? Now I got a daily dose of: "Do you see how jehovah is blessing you brother? Now that you have more time for field service? I have 10 bible studies that I would like to give you..lets meet". (gag!!!!)

But since my whole ousting incident in my local hall 3 years ago (thanks to the C.O.....no really thanks!) he and his family have'nt talked to me. They walk right by me, even crossing the street! Of course I say hi really loud so that they have no choice but to acknowledge.

Anyway this guy comes to my door Sunday wanting to speak to me. I was like " shit..I hope the local elders aren't trying to come after me". But to my surprise do you know what this freak wanted??

He told me that he had to move out of his home because of some "problem" and that he was looking for a room to rent for himself!!

I was in shock! "Huh?" He apparently had to move right then and there. I took him to several building where I knew several people who were looking for roomates and got him squared away. All this time I'm in my K9 BDU's and with my sidearm. He did not say a word about it.

So that same day he's going back and forth with his things moving them to his new room. All he does now is wander around the block at night, I would love to know what happened, knowing Jws though, it will only be a matter of time before I find out.

And now everytime I see him , he gives me a hug and a strong handshake, talking about "lets get together".
What, so now that he's obviously not an elder anymore (he's married with kids) he can talk to me and even solicite my help?

I know many of you would'nt have helped him, but it's in may nature to help anybody in need.

It still amazes me though how the JW mentality works.....What friggin' Hypocrites!!!........geez.

the society will not and can not allow current levels of defection without sanction.

shunning is their hallmark and what allows members to live in their hypnotic dream-like state, away from the evil informative apostates.. soon they will have to either change their baptism questions again, with the phrasing something like &"only by doing all the things jw in good standing do can we be considered as jw" blah blah blah.

they will then use that as a springboard to da or df members who don't attend meetings.. either that, or they will adopt another one of their stunning resolutions [8>]like they've resolved in the past.

As you know, every major change is made with the "new light" thoery.

So as long as the Wt keeps with their same old song, they can get the majority of the 6 million to do and think just about anything!

BTW, how are you?? Hope you're doing good. I've been away on training for the past 4 weeks.

i have a theory and i'd like to put it to the test here.. i would be willing to bet that the posters who post a great deal probably commented more than the average publisher at the meetings.. i know it's true in my case.. on simon's forum we have the whole range of 'publishers-' from those that comment a lot ---down to those that are just there.

the lurkers.. what about you?.

i just stumbled onto this website whilst messing about on the internet and i've taken exception to quite a lot of what i've seen here.

incase you think i'm some irate jehovah's witness idiot who's been offended by the terrible blasphemy that he's read on here, i'm not.

i was raised a jw, but now i'm not one.. first of all, given the url, i thought this website was in some way affiliated with the jehovah's witness organization, whereas in reality it seems from the posts i've read that most people here are either former jehovah's witnesses or soon-to-be former jehovah's witnesses.

ok ok ok so i stole englishman's phrasing.. one thing i'd been noticing about a certain troll's posts, they seem to center around personal accomplishments.. perhaps, that's not such a bad thing.

this person obviously isn't getting any encouragement to pursue "selfish desires" by the congregation, therefore he and others feel the need to go bragging.. growing up jw doesn't exactly encourage your creativity; on the contrary it stifles artistic expression and personal growth.. so perhaps there is something that *you* can do very well (or not so well but it's still your thang as jt would say) that is very special.. we all know that dave (seven) is great at art, and tr can pick any damn lock he chooses, but what about the rest of us?.

I play a mean Sax.

I have not picked it up in a while but I'm sure I still "got it".

I used to play night and day until the elders "showed" me how to use my time more productively.

Ironically, they wanted me to play at every friggin' wedding and "gathering"!

listening to all of new boy's stories of the bethelites has reminded me of one of my own..... when i was about 17 (reg.

Exodus told me about an occasion where he went to bethel just recently (about 9 month ago) and was invited to spend the afternoon with 2 bethelites that were in his hall (he was the P.O.at that time).

After spending about an hour in their room, it finally dawned on Exodus that there were no beds, let alone space to be able to put beds in. So he asked them: "By the way where do you guys sleep?"

To that they replied while pointing at the floor: "right there".

Exodus said he flipped. "You don't even have a bed?" "well, said the bethelite, we havent been here long enough to have a big room and we're in line to get one of those fold down closet beds".

I tell, you it's incedible. The funny thing about it is that they believe that, thats the way Jesus would have done it. Doing with the "bare neccesaties". (and sharing a bathroom in the hallway!!).

Meanwhile the bigwigs or G.B. had all the luxury items a person can ask for!
