in these days of the great cowboys preparing for the man-hunt, here are some lines telling what the mediterranean/european sentiments are, as published by a political commentator.

Your comments reminds me of the kind of reasoning that went around the same time as the vietnam era (according to my Dad, I was too young to remember).
It was thinking like that that left him and his squad out there by themselves. Out of 15 only 3 came back, him included.

You think thats what we want? You think kicking Iraqs ass was out of line? What about Yugoslavia? Somalia?

It's easy to criticize while we sit back at home and watch everything on CNN as most of the people do. Put on a flak jacket and kevlar, load your M-16 and jump out of a perfectly good aircraft at 3500ft. into a country so barren and where your greeting party is armed with hate and ak-47s and you just might have a different view of things.

See frankly the US needs not the sympathy of other countries. Our greatest allies will always back us-thats enough.
This is a mission that will take time. Of course people will start to lose interest and countries will think that enough is enough, but again and with no disrespect, we will say thanks for your help anyway.

Being prior military, I can tell you that Yerusalyim is right. I can almost guarantee that Spec. Ops is in place and conducting
Recon missions. They will seek out targets and "tag" them for our Air force to destroy. This is done to minimize unnecessary casualties.

The "Chief cowboy" might make statements that you don't understand, but then again you don't have to. Try to run a country of this magnitude and you just might understand.

This has nothing to do with feeling "cow-boyish". This has to do with eliminating a possible threat that endangers our way of life. We will not stand for it, no matter how long no matter what it takes.

Society CD ROM vs BOUND VOLUMES

several years prior to the release of the first edition of "the watchtower library" in england on cd rom in 1994, the society made an announcement that back-issues of bound volumes of the watchtower and awake would be available (for sale) by ordering through the literature desk.. many in the congregation had wanted a complete library of watchtowers for years and there was a frenzy of orders placed.

i, myself, ordered the complete collection.. however, upon receiving news of the cd rom becoming available, i wondered just why the society had made so many old re-prints available when they must have known about the future release of the cd.. this also coincided with the rules changing in england for the charging / donating for literature and i distictly remember a talk by an elder saying how much we should donate for the cd through the new donation process... something like "a comparible encylopedia on cd rom would cost 30 to 40 in the shops - so how much do you think we should donate for this treasure of god-given knowledge".. it just struck me that the literature sell-off was a last ditch attempt at making money, for fear that the cd rom combined with the new donation programme would spell disaster for the societys income.. any thoughts?.

i need a more recent copy of the cd rom if anyone has one?

Hey Ballistic,

I remember a cong. in Man. NYC that when the society switched to donations, had an increase of orders for cd's and videos. Anyway apparently the bro's were not contributing the "recommended" amount of $$ so believe it or not we got a letter from the society which said that basically we ordered so many cd's and videos and the total donations to the WWW (worlwide work) was such and such amount and get this. that WE OWED THEM A TOTAL OF 2 thousand some odd $$!!!

Gee talk about receiving free, giving free.
Maybe they should have stopped bulding the extra wing at Patterson (in those days).

Donations my Ass

i think we should all objurgate those who boast about donating to the sep 11th fund, red cross, or any other loser fund.. that dumb ass mayor giuliani is the worst thing that could happen to ny, he absolutely fettered the rescue work to a grinding halt.

the hard working, almost indefatigable rescue workers could have accomplished something with the billions of pounds of rubble, if only that asshole epicene giuliani knew what he was doing, and was capable of coordinating and directing a massive rescue mission.. all the dollars you are pulling out of your pockets are now wasted because of that ass.

there are no survivors left (because of that ass).

First of all Guliani is one of the best the city has seen. He has gotten things done that others just talk about. If you live in NYC then you should know better. If you don't, then again, you don't know jack.

It is not the Mayor's job or position to coordinate a "massive" rescue mission. This is left to Federal authorities. Like FEMA and the FBI an the criminal side.. The Feds call all the shots retard so at least try to sound like if you know what your talking about. We are all out of it. The Mayor is given reports and updates out of professional courtesy-thats it!

As far as the money is concerned, are you that stupid? Who said the Mayor gets and let alone controls the money?

Spoken like a Jdub. People died, many people died, including my co-workers and your talking about sending YOU money?

No matter what kind of point you're trying to make..do yourself a favor and don't fuck around with comments like that.

ACK!! Son Wants to Rejoin the Army!!

he just told me this today.

he only received his separation papers a few weeks before the attack on the wtc!

he says (due to his past training and rank) if they guarante him ranger,he will return!

I know we're supposed to make you feel better but I feel the same way your son does. I can still go in but I'm right on the age limit there. Of course they'll subtract the number of years I served so I can re-join with no problem.

IF you wan't you can tell your son that if he re-enlist they have to guarantee a Ranger contract if thats what he wants. See Today's Army is not what it used to be. If for some reason he doesn't get a slot in ranger school and they guaranteed it in his contract, then the contract is null and void and he'll be back within a few weeks. Then again Ranger contracts is for a minimum of 4yrs. Does he really want to go for another 4? I'd go maybe 2 but 4..that's alright, I'll leave it to the young bucks!

Of course they won't go through all that if they can't get him a slot. Sooo, if thats what he wants..he'll have no problem getting it.

if i may... and may you all have peace.. at risk of chafing some... uh, 'positions' with regard to the current 'situation' facing this nation (u.s.) and a good part of the world, i have to ask:.

just now, i was watching the opening of president bush's address to congress.

as he entered the room, bush was given a grand standing ovation, whistling, cheers and great applause.

9 months being president of the USA is a lifetime for some.

Although I got tired of everyone applauding every 2 min. with a standing ovation, you have to realize that people admire him becuase of the tremendous task that he has undertaken.

He did not have to do what is now being done. What he proposes is huge and "risky".

I don't think that there is anyone who would want to be in his shoes right now. It's hard enough trying to run the country without having the likes of Bin Laden screwing things up.

I think this is why everyone gave him his "props" when he entered. Heck...I didn't vote for him and I applauded from my living room.

Maybe he's not the best, but he's what we got now and he'll have to do.

many have emailed me regarding donations for the victims of the terrorist attacks in new york and washington d.c. others have expressed concern and would like to help with donating money.

i have found a way to do that.

i have signed up with several programs that pay for leads.

Anyone who wants to donate can just do it to the Red Cross or to FEMA or any orgs. which scroll through the bottom of the reporting networks like CNN or MSNBC or Foxnews.

There is nothing worse than to donate money to a "cause" and have a portion of that, line someones pockets.

Thank you Tatiana, and everyone for your kind words, ...I'm almost in tears here.

I went down today (although I'm not up until Thurs.) just to take a stroll alongside the area,just to mingle with fellow New Yorkers, and I can't say how sad I am.

Today the Mayor said that it is the chances of finding someone else alive is very,very small. Something that deep inside we were always afraid of but never confronted.

Many of the victims families were crying holding up there pictures to cameras and to the workers who would come out to be replaced by others.

You can't even find the words to tell them something positive.

I mean can you tell them that their loved one went peacefully? Can you tell them that everything will be alright? Can you tell them that we'll find their brother,sister, friend? What can you say when scores and scores of people rush to you hoping that you have some good news for them?

Many of the people were pulled out in pieces..what is a family supposed to do?

My dog is injured-not seriously but maybe I should just rest with him..I don't know, maybe I need to but don't want to say it.

I love you all for your freindship and your encouraging words--thanks again to you TATIANA..
