Passes for Ground Zero

starting tomorrow the only way to have access to the viewing platforms that were built in order to let visitors have a "closer" look at the ruins at gz is by obtaining a "pass" being handed out every day early in the morning.. this to accomadate the large crowds and demands to view the ruins.. if you dont get a pass to be able to go up the 13ft.platform which can accomadate about 400 people at a time, then you have to view the ruins from the perimeter established.. i wanted to post this info.

in order to keep showing everyone that the wt boasts of having jws walking "around the debris" talking to others about the "truth" is a lie.. as you can see the closest that you can get is only through one of the viewing platforms-and now only with a pass.. and no freddy, i'm not talking about standing next to the bank and streching out your neck as far up as you can.. mav.-

What do I do?.......

i'm so upset the more i read and find out about the society.

its all hard to take for me but i'm accepting it more and more.

the problem i have is that i want so bad to tell my mom what i have found out.

HI Flower,

I know its tuff we've all been in that type of situation. But I think that it will be incredibly hard to convince your parents of any wrong doing on the WTs part.

I'd hate to say it but its been my experience that the older a person is the less they are likely to WANT to reason about anything.

Remember that you'll basically be telling her that she has been living a lie for the past 57 years and that her life was wasted on the WT. Many have gone into deep depression or even attempted suicide after learning the "truth" after so many years.

You also risk getting shunned by the Cong. and your parents. You'll be an apostate in their eyes.

Exodus who post here from time to time was a P.O. for many years because he did not want to hurt his mother by leaving after learning these things. But eventually he decided to tell her little by little and sooner or later people started getting the "feeling" that something was not right with him and eventually he was DFd for apostacy.

Its crazy, I know but if I were you I would have a place of my own before talking to your mom, because it could get ugly. Their first reaction might be to get the elders then it will be downhill from there on.

In any case I wish you good luck and hope the best for you and remember that you have many freinds here.

Bible characters and the makings of a pop band

how many thousands of bible characters did we have to learn about?

now out of all of them, if you could pick and mix, which ones would you like to see together forming a pop band of their day, what tracks would they be performing, what genre of music and dare i ask for some lyrics, though i'm not sure if thats a permissable question, (oops, sorry god).

Im curious as to why you don't recommened us going "back" to Jehovah and you would just counsel us on getting "a life".

If those are the requirements for witnesses to be "saved" then I can go for that. Is that your new brief under 30 second door-to-door presentation to people?

our congregation never once did a drama at an assembly.. my wife's congregation didn't either.. but some seemed to do them every year!.

was this favouritism or 'simony' do you reckon?

I remember that as well.

I remember that in the District Conv. it was always the same cong. from Virginia doing the dramas.

It was funny when an elder friend of mine moved down to virginia (I did'nt know which cong.) and wound up having the "lead" role in the following years drama.

It was incredible. As if to point out that the only way we would ever have any part of that was to move down there to a "spiritual" cong.

everyone wants to find meaning and purpose in their life.

people who have been taught to believe in the bible seek stuff in the bible to give them meaning in their life.

some people make up stuff supposedly based on the bible to give them meaning in their life.. the watchtower society goes one step further: they make up stuff supposedly based on the bible to give their corporation meaning and importance in life.. far too many true believers have a difficult time accepting what should be obvious to any rational human: the bible meant exactly what it said.

Thanks for the walk through, it really is quite amazing how the WT puts 2 and 2 together. Geez.

But it reminds me of one of the last meetings that I attended, the WT study included an article that explained how "Babylon the Great" NOT only fell in the ancient times, but how it fell Again in 1919 when the WT heads were released and denounced false religion.( basically by preaching the falsities of secular religion Babylon fell....ah,ok)

But as if that were not enough we can look foward to the ULTIMATE fulfillment when all religion will be destroyed in the bright future ahead of us after the great tribulation.

To think that I fell for that...damn Farkel pass the 40....

i have been very busy lately but i had to stop for a few and write this.. it is beyond me why the wts has the need to not only lie but to keep making stuff up as they go along.

the latest being an experience related to the jws at my local hall (a friend of mine who still goes told me).

was visiting this week and related the following account:.

The C.O.s name is Jorge Melgoza a true company man;

the perimeter was set up by the 4 construction companies that were contracted by the city to clean up..the date was more or less around the weekend of the 21-23 if I recall correctly. But even b4 an actual perimeter was established, the national guard and police were not letting anyone in.

It is beyond me why the WTS has the need to not only lie but to keep making stuff up as they go along. The latest being an experience related to the Jw’s at my local hall (a friend of mine who still goes told me). It seems the C.O. was visiting this week and related the following account:

“There is a cong. in midtown Manhattan that decided on a Saturday morning that instead of going out to their usual territory they would go down to “Ground Zero”. This being about 3 weeks after the attacks. Well off they went, about 8 of them, to go and preach the good news of the Kingdom to the rescue workers. They paired up and started talking to the workers amongst the rubble.

The results were amazing. Not only were a total of 131 magazines placed, but so were 39 books. But the best experience was that of a sister who had been praying to Jehovah about not having any Bible studies. It turns out that She just happened to talk to 3 people who live within the territory. Immediately 3 bible classes were started.

Such was the interest of one of these workers that he insisted on only working part time at the disaster site because he wanted more time to study the scriptures. He went from taking the studies once a week to 5 times in just two weeks. He progressed in knowledge to the point where he was teaching his wife and 2 sons what he was learning. He immediately began going to the meetings and answering at them. So much was his progress that he was allowed to get baptized last week at a circuit assembly!

Now the sister who did not have a study, now has a “recommendation card” with another 2 on the way! This teaches us how we really need to find those who “lament” of the things that are happening today and how we can’t hold back of preaching under every circumstance.” (Crowd breaks into about 2 minutes of applause)

How completely ridiculous!!! If ever there was a lie!

There is NO WAY that these Jdubs could have had access to GZ. NO WAY!! The closest that you could get is to a 5-block perimeter that has been set up since the attacks. Unless you have an official ID..And I mean OFFICIAL you cant get passed the perimeter. And even if you did have the proper ID you still have to let the Commanders in charge know that you are coming. You just can’t show up. Everyone needs to be accounted for, no matter who you are. Not only that..but these guys are WORKING!!

I guess that the WTBTS desperation is showing. But they Mucked up. They should not be telling a lie about something so close to home where it can be verified.

To all those in different states and countries please know that all these “experiences” being told to you by the D.Os and C.O.s from GZ are absolute lies.

Then again that’s the WT way.

Amazing: It's funny, I remember when I was told repeatedly by the elders that I could not "progress" spiritually unless my wife stopped wearing skirts and dresses that ended on or just above her knees. They said that it could make many stumble and can be viewed as "following the worldly trend"

Unfortunatley, my wife and I had many arguements about it. It took alot of "counsel" for her to give into wearing dresses down to her ankles.

It's incredible how the Jws let even something so small be dictated to them by the WTBTS.

You said Dangerous?....I could not agree more.

In your professional opinion, do you believe that an ex-suicidal person can get over learning the truth about the deceptions of the WT or of any religion for that matter.

In other words survive that episode twice? Whats the likelyhood?
