BBC: US tries to Boost Patriotism, Faked Rescue: Jessica Lynch

british broadcasting corp. documentary concluded after interviewing iraqis that the rescue was a hollywood-style stunt designed to boost patriotism at a difficult time in the war.

washington post, richard cohen says that their reports were not accurate.

the post initially said lynch was shot and stabbed as she fought off her attackers "gun blazing" until she was taken prisoner.

There always has to be some knuckleheaded reporter who wants to make a name for himself that will say whatever to make some headlines. And then theres always those who choose to believe in these stupidities and try to prove that the Gov't. is "hiding something".

The reality is that Yeru is right. No self respecting Spec Ops team is going to take the credit for something they did not do. We (they) live by a certain code:

Loyalty

Duty

Respect

Selfless service

Honor

Integrity

Personal courage

Which is more than most people will ever live by. I would no ever, ever lie about a rescue mission that did not take place, I'd rather get articled 15nd that lie about such things, as Im pretty sure that those soldiers involved feel.

Believe what you choose, thats what makes this country great.

Latest recruitment effort in NYC

changing the channels last night, i came accross the spanish broadcasting station- "telemundo".. they were airing a commercial made by the jdubs!

the narrator asked the viewer if they were feeling depressed due to the recent changes and threats that we live under and pointed to the bible as the only way out of these troubled times.. of course it then pointed to visiting your local congo., accepting a visit of the dibs or calling a 1-888 number that i didnt get because i was so perplexed.. i talked to my mom today being that she is always watching the spanish soap operas and she said that those commercials have been airing alot lately and that there are several different ones.. she said there is even one showing a disitrict convention in progress and it gave the # again.

she said she called (she used to be a dub also and was curious) and that the person she spoke to said that they were not aware of any commercials airing.. i asked her if it was the society that answered the phone but she did'nt know.. funny how they would use "satans eye" to promote their cause.. .

I tried to re-enlist myself in October and the Docs doing the physical said I have flat feet!!

Shit, flat feet? So I told my recruiter to "hook it up" but it doesnt seem to be going anywhere.

I was in during the Gulf war 82nd Airborne 1st brigade 501 Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR).

"The devils in baggy pants". "You call, we fall". Deployed anywhere in the world in 18 hours.

But I guess I have to leave all that for the younger folks.

Still I would have loved to go back....nothing like breathing the desert air which is good for me. (sinus)

With your education I dont reccomend you join. You'd only make about $500 a month if you're single!!

But as long as we're talking about war let me take a moment to remember Sgt. Checo who was the latest casualty of the war on terrorism. He was only 22 years old. He grew up in my neighborhood and his funeral was held several blocks from me here in uptown Manhattan.

He re-enlisted after doing his initial 4 years. He, like many others before him, did not join the armed forces to become rich or famous, he joined becaused he felt that it was his duty.

Like an Army Cadence goes:

..........Oh hail, oh hail, oh Infantry, Queen of battle follow me. The infantry life is the life for me, 'cause nothing in this world is free.......

Yes freinds not even freedom is free.

Here's to you Sgt. Checo, I'll see you soon...*

BTW if you decide to join the Army you wont get stuck doing laundry. Everything is by contract now, so lets say you want to go Special Forces, you sign and the Counsler signs and thats what you'll train in. If you want to be an air traffic controller, you sign they sign and off you go.

Thats the way it woks now. Of course you need to take the ASVAB test so they can grade your intelligence for certain jobs, but I dont think you'd have a problem there.

in my scenario i see the lawyers flitering cash out and creating legal manuvers to protect the players ( like any other corporate "legal theft").

how you guys doing?.

sorry if this was discussed already but i havent been around lately.. my sis and bro in law had some of their witness family fly in and visit them last week.

they decided that they wanted to visit bethel here in nyc.

I'm tryting to get a hold of my sister. They also visited the WT "educational facility" in Patterson and found it almost empty compared to how it use to be swarming with workers and visitors.

Most of the tour was directed to just walking up and down the hallways opening one or 2 doors and saying something about what goes on in there but without actually letting anyone in.

I mentioned several months ago of how my good freind who at the time was the P.O. of his Congo. took his visiting relatives to the Bethel complex in Brooklyn. When they came up on a door marked I.T. , one of my friends Bro-in-laws who is an elder asked the tour guide if they could see what goes on there, to which the group was told that they could not because that section deals with "sensative information".

Everyone was astonished so the guide went into the room and opened one of the Blinds up a little so that the group can take a peek through the glass.

Needless to say everyone walked away with questions as to why the WT would keep "sensative information" that their own "brothers" can't see.

Sorry if this was discussed already but I havent been around lately.

My sis and bro in law had some of their witness family fly in and visit them last week. They decided that they wanted to visit Bethel here in NYC. (They went just this past Friday)

To their astonishement, they found the factories (or printery as they are now calling it) 3/4 empty. All the conveyor belts have been removed and there were hardly no personnel.

As if that wasnt enough shock for them, when they tried to visit 360 Furman which is the shipping "Central", they were told that the building was almost empty and that the property was up for sale.

The reason was that it was no longer feasable for the Society to ship to other countries being that most already had their own factories.

They were pretty disappointed not to find the "busy brothers" at work like you see on the WT videotape.

Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll sell all their property in Brooklyn!
