The UK House of Commons Defines Parental Alienation as a Form of Child Abuse

interestingly, just this week—on monday 29 june, 2020—the british house of commons amended their pending domestic abuse bill to include parental alienation as a form of child abuse, even calling it “psychological manipulation.”.

the bill is very much in the process and will no doubt go through more revisions before it reaches its final form.

This , if it comes in to Law, will make it legally wrong for J.W's to treat badly there minor children who are disfellowshipped.

Sadly, we already know of cases where minor children in this position have been allowed to live at home, and were "alienated" within the home, and then told to leave once they became adult.

J.W's find ways to ignore the law, and to ignore the "spirit" of such laws, thinking their way is above the Law of the Land.

But I hope this may help some poor kids who become DF'd, if their parents are the more reasonable, and more loving type of J.W.

I was never an Elder, out of choice, but never had a big bag, sometimes I just had a rolled up WT mag. in my jacket, because I had scribbled notes in it on research I had done.

Have You Lost Any “Friends” Because Of Your Political Views?

i have lost a couple of fb friends.

i have had conversations with many of my friends regarding politics and since we generally view politics in the same way, there is little dissension.

however i do have some friends that don’t see things properly, my way, and i still like them.🤗lol....i know of some families that have stopped talking to each other because of something as stupid as political differences..

I don't think I have, maybe the odd person on F.B or similar, but they are not real friends. I generally try to argue in such a way that I still show respect for the person, though I may quite strongly show where their opinion is wrong, and give them the facts.

I never insult the person, I think that helps.

If people have gone because of my Political, or in fact any other ,views, then good riddance ! they have done so, in a cowardly way, skulking off, not giving any good reason for their opinions, which shows they have no good argument.

A bit like when J.W's run off rather than defend their views and their faith, cowards, who know deep down they have no valid argument to offer.

i will try to post a link.. jtg.. australia.. institutions refusing to join the national redress scheme are "doubling down" on the crime of child sexual abuse, prime minister scott morrison says.. mr morrison and social services minister anne ruston have warned institutions they may lose funding and tax concessions if they fail to sign up by tuesday's deadline and will be named and shamed.. "all institutions are doing in not joining is doubling down on the crime and doubling down on the hurt," they said in a letter to 25 institutions.. "we consider it to be reprehensible that you have failed to sign up to the scheme.".

the jehovah's witnesses is among the organisations that has refused to sign up, arguing it does not have the institutional settings of other faith-based institutions that the redress scheme is designed to cover.. senator ruston is set to name the non-participating institutions on wednesday, when she will announce what action the federal government will take against them.. "we urge you to join the scheme not because of concerns about being identified, but because it is the right thing to do," the minister and mr morrison said.. "it is the right thing to do by survivors and their families and it is what every, decent, honest, australian demands.".

Cofty, you read too fast ! I actually said " paying up to $150 Million AUD." Which of course is an overestimate, as probably not all would receive the maximum.

I agree 100% with fade above, that this situation is continuing abuse, simply because the $$$$, are more important to the org than people, and making reparation for the damage they have done to their lives. just Evil.

The JW Org has done its usual callous calculation, no thought, let alone love, for the victims. It is calculating that to lose Tax Exemption would cost them far less over the years than paying up to $150 Million AUD. in compensation, which is rightfully owed to those poor victims, whose lives have been altered forever, and often youth been totally lost.

Added to their disgusting non-reporting, their total lack of a proper Protection Programme for the vulnerable, this move should make them the worst Pariah among the religions in Australia. May they wither away and die there as a "religion".

It may come down to a Class Action by the Victims ? Then let us hope the Courts award even more Compensation, the Courts must have some discretion in this.

Rolf Furuli New Book

for those who haven't come across furuli before , he is a 77 year old norwegian professor and is ( or was ) one of the few "scholarly" jws used by the society and used as a source on various matters ( especially 607 bce ).. however recently he has fallen out with the gb and has published an interesting book - like many recent scholarly apologists , he seems to be going down the road of disagreeing with the authority of the gb but still holding that the jws is the one true religion.

kind of "lions led by donkeys".

whether this view will continue is anyones guess.

footnote on pg. 328 : " 102. I would like to add that several accusations against the GB on the Internet and other places are not true. For example, in connection with child molestation, the GB has been accused of having directed elders to hide such crimes from the authorities. The first time such crimes were known to elders in Norway was around 1990. Since then, elders have been advised to take particular measures to protect children, and always to cooperate with the police. So this accusation is wrong! "

This shows how ill informed Furuli is about the world wide situation, and how fooled he is (possibly) about how it actually works when Elders come across Abuse. He has simply trotted out the " Party Line". I cannot believe that even in Norway, "such Crimes" had not occurred before the 1990's !

If there is anther edition, this nonsense needs amending for sure !

So that shows he is as deluded as the rest of the J.W's. What has always annoyed me about him is that he has no Integrity, he does what all loyal J.W's do, deny Facts and Evidence to suit the JW agenda and the JW teachings.

He must be an utter Laughing Stock in Academic circles.

Same here, I think that a Preacher/Teacher/Rabbi whatever, called Jesus of Nazareth without doubt existed, otherwise why would the writer of the Gospel of Luke have to invent the story of his being born in Bethlehem because of a fictional Census ? If he was making up his story, just say he was born in Bethlehem, but no, people knew he was "of Nazareth", hence the story, so those people that knew he existed would have a reason to believe his birth took place in Bethlehem.

I think Sea breeze above misunderstood what I meant, I said all we knew about Jesus was Fiction, and that is correct, but not all the content of Fictional stories is "false", they quite often contain accurate sections on various events and conversations, so some of the content of the Gospels may be of that nature, but none of it can be claimed as truth, in the sense I am using the word, for lack of corroborating Evidence.

Well, what is Truth ? Truth can only be established by Facts and Evidence that stand the most rigorous scrutiny by real experts in the field under discussion.

jehovah’s witness elder, clifford whiteley, has been sentenced to nine years in prison at the birmingham crown court for sexual abuse offences he committed against a child member of the congregation over ten years ago.. mr whiteley initially denied the offences to the police, despite the fact that he had admitted his guilt during an internal investigation of the jehovah’s witnesses.. during court proceedings, mr whiteley’s defence counsel, sharon bailey, stated that the jehovah’s witnesses refused to disclose the details of his confession to the police.

Clergy-Penitent Privilege has not been a Legal excuse, or tool, in the U.K since the Reformation. Obviously when Elders hear stuff in a J.C. they have a duty to keep it from becoming general knowledge, UNLESS it is a Crime !

We know anyway that all details get out via Elders wives etc, but that is almost beside the point, except they seem to be able to keep it quiet when it is a case of Child Abuse quite often, when in fact, they have a Duty to warn the Congregation in some way.

They still have a Moral Duty wherever they live on Earth to Report IMMEDIATELY to the Authorities, and now it has been underlined they have, in the U.K, a Legal Duty to do so.
