the light really is getting brighter, but what kind?
i can think of three types of figurative light in this context:.
1) that which jws refer to and they base on pr 4:18. light on a path... light that gets brighter.
Proverbs 4 v18 says "the Path of the righteous one gets brighter..." it simply means that a Righteous man or woman, as they go through life, see ever clearly how they should conduct their own life. Nothing more.
These proverbs were collected and compiled in to a Book before Scripture existed ! The J.W Org misappropriation of this Bible verse, and misapplication is something they should be ashamed of.
did anyone ever check the doctors who claimed something that backed up the wt society.. .

i remember the watchtower and awake magazines used to have tons of articles on every subject you could think off.. history, medical, science, masturbation, dating, homosexuality, etc.. this was before the internet.
Fact checking via the Internet is such a wonderful resource.
The lies and deception by the JW Org/WT are so easily exposed, they can only get away with doing similar to a degree by NEVER quoting sources and saying things like " A recent Study says..... " or " A Scientist says " etc etc if no sources are quoted they simply could be making up what they say, or more likely, quoting sources and Scientists who are doubtful and certainly not qualified to pronounce on the matter in question. They really are devious Buggers. which begs the question, : " If you have the Truth, why do you have to lie about it ?".
kim and mikey made a youtube yesterday claiming that a business called watchtower property co. was connected to the watchtower.
they used a recording done by youtuber smurf girl of a call she made to a julie at the company.
i believe the call was doctored as it has her saying that (no) "we're connected to the jehovahs witnesses directly.

True, but it is vital that before Posting something that will be seen by JW's as an attack on what they believe to be "the truth" we need to do proper Research and make 100% sure what we are saying is Rock Solid.
Posting unsubstantiated rubbish just reinforces the concept of "Apostate Lies" and may halt, or at least postpone, a person's finding the Road to Freedom from the JW mental prison.
People like Mike and Kim, Rick Fearon etc can do more harm than good by sloppy work.

i find the movement that engulfed my entire family fascinating.
Joseph sent me a long Paper on his ideas entitled " Beyond the Trinity" , that was interesting to me, to see his reasoning, though personally I was Beyond Belief by that time.
He was a clear thinker. His prose was a little strange, I wonder if his first language was not English ? But it was very readable.
If I can track down the Book I would be interested to read it, as again, Joseph's thought processes about leaving the WT will interest me.

I was PIMI when I first started to allow myself to explore the Internet with regard to JW teaching. Yes. I was not a 100% believer, I was born in, but never in all my nearly six decades in was a one-hundred percenter.
But, I still believed some basics, so class myself even at that time, a year or so before I actually left, as a PIMI.
So, if you are a PIMI JW and feel able to, introduce yourself anonymously, don't give many personal details, especially any that would identify you, and discuss whatever you wish with us, we are very gentle and understanding !

interesting find through a book "inside story of jehovah's witnesses" (1967) by w.c. stevenson, supposedly a former jw circuit overseer.
it's an interesting "apostate" perspective written prior to the wts 1975 debacle.. anyway, at a certain point, there's a quote from a book called "the four cults", by professor anthony a. hoekema (1963, william b. eerdmans publishing company), a calvinist, which makes some sharp remarks about the way jehovah's witnesses teach the dead coming back to life:.
1) in the case of those "resurrecting" for everlasting life on earth, one asks: if the soul is extinct at death, and the body disintegrates and its components are integrated into other forms of life, what is there to "resurrect"?
The JW Org's view of being " Spirit Directed" is as muddled as their view of Resurrection as explained in Scripture.
Perhaps we could have a Thread sometime on their ludicrous view that they are imperfect, not inspired, can make mistakes over and over, but are still "Spirit Directed."
I was interested to hear of your path through your research DJW. When I was an active JW, and particularly when I was giving Public Talks, I frequently used Bible Commentaries to get to the heart of what a Scripture was about, as the JW Org's resources were quite pathetic usually, and certainly they edited and adapted a lot from the same sources, to make it fit their own Theology and Interpretation, but in the process often lost the power and truth found in the original.
This was where I first became aware of their "Quote Mining" where they would only quote, or use as a source to help along their own writing, parts of the Books they were using.
This all added to my cognitive dissonance, until I honestly woke up and acknowledged to myself that the JW Org does not have a clue how to read and interpret the Bible, and is also wilfully dishonest.
im not here to start a debate.. ive heard the above expression countless time over the past year and a half and genuinely want to know what it means.. if you feel this way, do you mean :.
a. there is no covid19 virus?.
b. covid19 is real but not a threat of any kind?.
" Obviously Covid is real." Yes!
But people in this "Post Truth" World would rather believe nit-wits on the Internet than those who really know what they are talking about.
Some are even still denying it is real with literally their dying breath, saying to medical Staff that are caring for them. " I cannot be dying from Covid, it isn't real" , how dumb is that ?
They are probably ones who fell for the Anti-vaxx message too, well, it shows the danger of being either too lazy, or too stupid to check Facts and Evidence, to not do so properly can be Lethal !
yep, i never heard him use profanity------ever.. a couple of us were invited to lunch, which in my case never happened before covid because i never got baptized.. but now i’m being invited by most of my jw family to family cookouts.
and we never talk about kingdom stuff.
they always ask questions about politics.

This made me really laugh! it is just SO funny when someone who doesn't normally swear does so !
I remember my sister in law swearing, I had never heard her do so before, though she was never a JW, but one day she said to her husband " You're a fucking weirdo!" It cracked me up !
But the reaction of the others to your Uncle's statement is, sadly, typical JW, focus on something else, the "bad word", rather than face the Facts and Evidence presented to them, and come to the same honest appraisal as your Uncle !
