  The more you get to know, the more you realise that you know very little, I have found ! But now my mind is open to all ideas, I find learning a real pleasure !

  My mind is not so open that my brain fell out, so I Fact Check, check the sources and Authorities of Scholars who are referenced, even if I am studying a seemingly good Paper or Book, that is presented as Academics do, I found a Paper a while ago, it looked very learned and seemed to make some sense, but the "Authorities" appealed to all turned out to be of the same "school" of thought, suspicious that ! Academic Books do that too.

  So be careful, use Critical Thinking skills, and the above checks, and a wealth of knowledge that is trustworthy is out there !

  I’m not sure what this means!

  yesterday i was visited by 2 witnesses, and we had a long chat about lots of things!

  one of them named claire took the lead and i instantly felt some sort of connection to her, after we had spoken and they had left i started to have this overwhelming feeling to research her and what she had spoken about but i couldn’t find her anywhere on any website or social media, so i left it and thought nothing more of it all day….

  however the strange thing is i had a dream that night and claire was in it, many things happened in this dream that i was told i was only allowed to speak about with claire, i can speak of the dream to others but the details only me and claire can know!

  I really can't be arsed to watch a Vid. from a charlatan pushing intelligent design and misrepresenting where we are with Abiogenesis at present.

  Vidqun, you need to actually research for yourself where we are with our knowledge now. The process of how life began has been observed and replicated, in other words, in a Lab. it was observed happening.

  There is plenty of accurate Info. out there, easily accessible, one book which is good on this is "Life Ascending" , I forget the Authors name, it is from over a decade ago, so research has moved on since then, but the process described is still the current hypothesis.

  "Intelligent Design"is utter bollocks, this comment from Ken Miller, a Scientist, but a believer in a kind of god, a practicing Catholic, is revealing :

  He had this to say about the ideas of I.D. that they are “ rejected by Science because they do not fit the facts, and for having failed religion because they think too little of God”.

  Ken Miller wrote “ The Falgellum Unspun” about how bacteria developed the flagellum, a sort of corkscrew propeller ??, so as to be able to move.

  "They used to use scriptures to back it up." Too true ! there were a few in some neighbouring Congregations to mine, and at least one in mine, that REFUSED to Report time.

  The C.O on his visit spent one of his talks mostly showing from Scripture why they SHOULD !

  so everyone knows the “big news” of this past weekend, no more reporting of hours, placements, return visits, etc.

  beginning november 1, jws just tick a box indicating whether they “shared in any form of the ministry during the month”.. so there was a brief comment by a redditor that seems like a brief joke “throwaway comment” but after thinking about it….why not?.

  the idea is, what is “any form of the ministry”?

  That was part of the reason for doing it, if over 8 million JW's tick the box, then they can claim over 8 million active members worldwide. Thus making their retention figures look better for a while, The young ones are leaving in droves it seems, so won't be ticking any boxes !

  "Truly, Jehovah’s Witnesses have a bunch of meathead dimwits running this religion!🤣" I agree with that as applied to the G.B, but the shadowy Financial and Legal guys are maybe not the sharpest tools in the box compared to others in "the World", but THEY I'm sure a behind this move.

  As said earlier in this Thread, it distances the Org. from the accusation of "Agency" over JW's responsible directly for Abuse or those who should have prevented it. Therefore liability is denied, and the poor victims do not get their deserved Justice from "Jehovah's loving Org." Or even a degree of Closure, they remain Victims for the rest of their lives. That is both mercenary and Cruel.

  Follow the Money is always a good dictum when they do ANYTHING these days.

  As I alluded to above, I bet some very creative definitions of sharing in some form of ministry are invented !

  Terry, in the other thread on this, has made the reasonable assumption a bit more solid, that $$$ are also behind the move, making proving, in Court, the Org. has responsibility for Abuse within its ranks ever harder.

  I do wonder if Retention, especially of younger members is a reason, 99,9% hate going D to D.

  Perhaps as well , the well justified charge of them being an Authoritarian High Control Group made often by me, and many other ex-JW's, is hitting them. Or they think it is, and they can now say things like : "Isn't it wonderful that our god Jehoober trusts us as his faithful servants to do his work of saving lives, doing us much as our hearts motivate us to do."

  This Control Method of time reporting now having gone for good, I am hoping a relaxing of the Shunning policy follows, that is the now remaining overt Control method that causes people who know about it to reject their blandishments, and rightly label them a Cult. We can but hope.
