it has been shown on here that none of the unique doctrines of the wt/jw religion come from charles taze russell, so the present org.

has no theological connection with him.. the historical connection with him is really a fiction too, what joseph.

f. rutherford did was seize control of the wt corporation, and ownership, and the chief writer and editor positions, of the watchtower magazine.. as soon as jfr got the power he started to sideline russells work, he had to be subtle, those that had supported his coup were still in thrall to ctr, and their support was not without its reservations for rutherford.

What makes JW's think all is "Truth" now ?

c.t russell was, they admit 90% wrong.. ditto for rutherford.. ditto for a lot in the intervening years, wrong and wrong again, so the need for "new light".. what makes them think that the 2012 version is any more right than the previous tripe ?.

how can they know it won't all be dross tomorrow ?.

"good morning i have come to bring you the truth from god's word that may not be the truth at all when the next wt comes out" would be a more honest presentation..

What is latest WT quote on donating blood ?

i no longer have access to wt lit or cd, as i burned all my bound volumes one day in disgust, and don't have a cd.. so could someone kindly post the latest on donating of blood, not simply that it is forbidden, but the latest where they say why they hold this position.. if i remember rightly, it was based entirely on the o.t injunction about "pouring out" the blood of a slain animal, but i need to be sure before i question jw's on this.. many thanks in advance, if you are able to help..

the poster "erbie" on cedars shunning thread posited that really we "subcosciously miss the peace of mind and purpose we had as part of a world wide brotherhood" and that the elders or xelders on here "miss the authority of speech they had in the wt", so they have to post their thoughts on here as an outlet for their ego, is the implication.. discuss !!

Where can I find WT first mention of 1918 inspection ?

sorry to ask, but i have tried searching it on here and haven't come up with the first instance of the expounding of the idea , based on malachi 3, that jesus inspected, and approved ratherfraud and gang in 1918.. i would guess it is first in a rutherford book, and later in the wt ?.

i would like to read the idea as it was first expressed as new light (tm) and any changes to the teaching in subsequent years, can anybody help ?.

this is only academic interest so don't break your neck helping, but it may prove of interest to many to see the basis of the idea, a doctrine that in recent years is never explained , just referenced as fact, a bit like 1914 is..

Is there one Bible Prophecy.....

in the form of a prediction, that can be proven to truly be a prediction,i.e written before the event, and it came true ?.

it would be good not to have time wasters on this thread in the form of the common ones that are brought up to demonstrate the bible's prophetic prowess, like cyrus being named , these have been debunked already.. but does there seem to be a genuine prophecy in there somewhere ?.

as jehovah said to the israelites "you are my witnesses" and was happy to let them get on with things without major interference by him, he must have broadly approved of what the nation was doing, until jesus came and changed things.. for hundreds of years before jesus the jw's (israelites) had decided that the name of god was too holy to pronounce.

had he been upset by this he would have sent a prophet to sort this out, but no, it continued as practice,for 200 years at least,and remained uncondemned by jesus.. if jehovah had really wanted his people to use his name, would not a prophet, at least would not his son, have said so ?.
