  I never believed any of this, nor the 'two'witnesses' nor anything about 1919. It always struck me as fanciful. I remember saying to my elder hubby that if we have to go through any more of that ridiculous stuff I'd scream! At the time I was fully in... I guess now that maybe I never was fully in.. LOL

  some 20 million muslims live in china, with maybe around 12,000 residents around the niujie mosque in beijing.

  For me it was THE BOOK! It opened my eyes. I started it thinking it would just enlighten me about how the organisation works. I'd never heard of it before until I saw it on Wikipedia under an article about the GB. I'd gone there to find out more about them. I wanted to read this book! I couldn't have it in the house, so I searched the web until I found a pdf. I downloaded it and then read it. I was certain it wouldn't shake my faith. Boy! Was I wrong!!!

  It turned my whole life upside down. I'm not sorry. It was 2 years ago this month. I went on to read his second book 'In Serach of Christain Freedom'.

  I can never ever go back. For me my eyes were fully opened and I knew I had learned 'TTATT'... (The Truth about the Truth).

  What Was Your First Experience In Exposing Yourself To "Apostasy"?

  as a young teenager, i would look at "apostate" books at the city library.

  i was always intrigued as to what was sooo bad and other than a few writings of some that seemed like they hated the witnesses, i would clandestinely look at literature, especially in "christian" bookstores.. it took years for me to finally disconnect.

  i will say that ray franz' books enlightened me the most!.

  For me it was 2 years ago. I was reading something on Wikipedia about JWs and the GB. At the end it said about critisisms and referenced Ray Franz and his book 'Crisis of Conscience'. My curiosity was piqued... what harm would it do to peek behind closed doors? I'd always wondered what was so mysterious about the GB. I read the book, then I read his next one 'In Search of Christian Freedom'. The veil was lifted, my eyes were opened and I saw the man behind the curtain! There was no going back.

  My next foray was on Jwstruggle, a brilliant website for newly awakened JWs. Then of course Jwfacts and here. The rest is history.

  So God communicates things to them that aren't true. Or they heard him wrong. Then they told us that we have to believe every word they say. Hmmm.

  This guy's irony is too good for an apologist JW. He's another Aunt Connie IMO.

  last week friday i was delayed in going to work, for which i am glad.

  it was an opportunity for me to help my gran one last time.

  she thanked me, told me she loved me and that i would be very blessed.

  Bethel... Really the 'House of God'?

  just wondering why they would call the headquartes 'bethel', supposedly the 'house of god'.. what is 'bethel' really?

  the bible tells us that it was the centre of false worship started by jereboam and the golden calf worship.

  (1 kings 12:28-33).

  What is 'Bethel' really? The bible tells us that it was the centre of false worship started by Jereboam and the Golden Calf worship. (1 Kings 12:28-33)

  Also Amos prophesied against it, saying: "Search for me, and keep living. And do not search for Bethel....as regards Bethel, it will become something uncanny." (Amos 5:4,5)

  Interesting that once again Bethel has become the centre of 'calf' worship. We don't need Jesus Christ anymore, as the Israelites didn't need the temple at Jerusalem. All we need is the 'Organisation' for our salvation.
