Lenna, t's so good that you found out all of this before you got baptised. You still have a way out and they won't be able to D/F you and cut you off from people you love. I hope you can rebuild your relationships that you had before. Keep up with asking questions, even if you don't find all the answers. It's good to keep looking and keep searching. You will eventually find a place inside yourself that you feel happy with. Just don't let others manipulate you and tell you what all the answers are. It's something you need to find for yourself and not because someone else told you.

All I can say is that my heart goes out to those parents and I truly hope they find the right treatment for their little boy and that there can be true cooperation between them and the medical people. They just seem like a loving, caring family trying to do the best for their child. Doctors don't always know what's best, even if they think they do.
I've had my own issues with the medical profession, did my own research. Found an alternative treatment fortunately still on the NHS. They tried to talk me out of it but I went ahead and went to another county for the treatment. It was highly successful and meant I didn't end up having needless surgery.
If this family want to fund private treatment in another country for their son then why shouldn't they be allowed to do so?

This is a loving family that just want what's best for their little one. Doctors think they are gods! Why couldn't they have accomodated what the parents wanted, which was the best possible medical treatment there was. Is it because that treatment was in another country? This child is nothing to those doctors but he's everything to his parents! Now the parents are being hounded like criminals!

AnnOMaly- I like your thinking, wish I could have thought of it at the time!
OUB- Spot on!!
JWdaughter- yes, you're right, it is Birmingham UK. The Gujuratis were eating their lunch outside in the sunshine mixing happily with everyone else, as we ended up doing ourselves. Such a shame the powers that be didn't get their own way segregating everyone!

The part of the country this venue is in has a very large asian community. Personally I have nothing against them at all and actually quite like the diversity in our country (as long as they try and fit in). I felt it was very wrong to segregate them, even though they formed the 'foreign language' group. I'd have been more than happy to share this area with them. What really annoyed me was that by doing this they sectioned this area off, that was perfect for eating our lunch... and the whole time it remained empty!! It was really badly thought out, jobs-worth, red tape and totally ridiculous. It's still getting to me- a week later! Thought maybe by venting here I could forget about it.
I think what really gets me is the fact that someone made up this rule, forced brothers to implement it (the brother that moved me on asked for back up because he couldn't handle it by himself!) and then ended up with an empty area that could have been used by everyone!

I went to the RC last weekend (for my hubby). It was at a new venue. A large arena usually putting on music concerts. At lunchtime we went to have our lunch. While hubby queued up for our cups of tea I went and found us a seat at a table, next to a window. I sat down pulled out my sandwiches and started to eat and a brother came up and told me 'sorry sister, you can't sit here, it's reserved for the gujurati brothers. You can go over there in the middle'... pointing to a large dark area already packed out. I looked around the area I was sitting and couldn't see a single gujurati. All the white brothers and sisters were told to move. We were all unhappy about it. Hubby and I went outside and found a bench down by the lake. Walking down I saw several gujurati brothers and sisters outside, looking back I saw through the window where I'd been sitting, no gujuratis.... coming back after lunch, the area was still empty. Not a single gujurati was sat in there. Room for about 100 people... empty.... because they didn't want white brothers mixing with asian brothers? Hubby told me not to get upset about it, but it just seemed so ridiculous to me!
Just felt like venting...

I'm with all those that say he's having us on. Read his early posts when he first joined. He's probably sat with a big grin on his face because he's stirred everyone up.
