If you're bothered by god murdering innocent children, you must have a "critical heart"
by OneEyedJoe inthis week's book study contains this gem:.
the way in which the bible is written serves to test what is in our heart.
hebrews 4:12 says: the word [or, message] of god is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit .

That is batshit insane. They weren't even trying to be subtle that their god is basically hitler. -

The overuse of adjectives tells me they don't understand a thing.
by Rattigan350 inthe w 3/15/2015 page 8 para 5 says:.
"one faithful anointed brother with a record of decades of loyal service commented: i just read the book of job in the new edition, and i feel as if i understand it for the first time!
" many have made similar comments.".

It sounds like an essay you'd write in high school. I know we all extended most of our sentences just to fill up the pages. -

Pagan Origins
by tinker ina currently active jdub acquaintance occasionally stops by to say hello and we share a wee dram or two.
after the general small talk of new cars, exotic vacations and sports we often get into the "why" we are xjubs.

The calendar and wedding rings are definitely an easy one to use. I was told by a brother once that at one point in the organization's history they considered using a different calendar but worried that people might think they were too strange. Looking back, it was a really messed up reasoning. They claim to not use/see anything pagan in origin but are excused when they do unlike every other religion. -

Early Morning Informal Witnessing, Yay!!
by kairos inhow many of us would get up and "start your time" by 6:00am or earlier?.
i sure did my fair share and convinced many others to join me semi-regularly.. we'd stand out in front of "somewhere/something", you remember?.
donut shop, 7-11, liquor store ( genius ), driving to laundry rooms or coin-op's, etc... anyway, this past sunday i was pumping fuel for the long trip home early in the morning out of l.a. to norcal, when i spotted a young, energetic version of myself 20 years ago.

Seen smoking a cigarette
by Godsendconspirator ini won't say i got "caught" because that would imply i was keeping my habit hidden.
i'm tired of constantly doing that with these guys.
yesterday, my friend and i were waiting for some people and decided to smoke a cigarette to pass the time.

I'd rather smoke a cigarette than enter Jdubs version of "paradise". Regardless, it's not much of a habit as it is something I do occasionally when I'm out with friends. -

Proud JW.ORG Photos everyone needs to see! The Watchtower Sanctified the Internet for Preaching!
by Trailer Park Pioneer ini am proud to be a jehovah's witness in the last days, what religion has done this much to proclaim the message about the organization?
other religions are preaching about jesus, some wear the crucifixion, other's wear shirts with fishes but we wear shirts with jw.org!
no other religion has our courage!.

I won't say I got "caught" because that would imply I was keeping my habit hidden. I'm tired of constantly doing that with these guys. Yesterday, my friend and I were waiting for some people and decided to smoke a cigarette to pass the time. 2 jdubs walked by and saw us. these 2 are always preaching together and I guess they were out for some street work. Normally they would stop me like they always do, ask how I am, say they "miss me" and I'd try to be polite as possible to leave the conversation. Instead they said hi, shook my hand and left. It was the funniest thing to me how a little cigarette that I bought from the store for 50 cents scared them off so easily. I saw that they crossed the street and started walking the opposite direction. My friend said that one of them kept trying to look over to us. That same one passed by us again in 10 minutes, this time: no eye contact, no words. Exactly how I wanted.
I'll behave how I want in my own freaking neighborhood and it's nice to feel that freedom again. I wasn't born in but lived in the same area my whole life and it feels liberating to feel like I have complete control over my life again. I'm not nervous over any shepherding call that may come. Luckily I have no family in the organization and was able to built up my friendships with people I almost threw away years ago and able to let go of the friends I thought I had in the borg.

To all my congregation Elders :
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthank you for coming to my house so often because you were so concerned about me missing so many meetings.. ( actually, the only time you visited was when the circuit and district overseers were in town.
you really showed them how concerned you were about your sheep.
i now know that it is more of a duty than a concern.).

Every single witness I see on the street.
Them: "Hey, we've missed you."
me: "You can text me."
Now I don't even say that. I'm tired of saying that. It's now more like this:
Them: "Hey we've missed you."
me: "yea" -

WTBT$/JW's = AMWAY/MLM Schemes
by Darth Fader The Sequel inall of the wts tactics and procedures are based off of your most basic mlm (multi-level marketing) schemes.
take your pick of amway, or any of the other vitamin or financial mlm's.
they all work the exact same way.

I remember attending a few Amway meetings. I got the exact same creepy feeling as the Jdubs. The lovebombing, the talks, everyone in suits and loaded language. It felt exactly the same.

A duffle coat. First time I ever walked out in 30 degree weather and feeling completely comfortable.
