Perhaps, if a married JW brother is not a MS or elder, there is now a "biblical" reason for divorce. His wife could be free to marry a guy who is MS/elder...:-)

US Zone visit: disappointing, depressing, discouraging
by sir82 ini will have plenty of "snark" to post later on, but please indulge me while i get this out of my system..... suppose you are the leaders...yes, the leaders...there are only 7 of you...for the one true religion in all the universe.. jehovah the god of the whole universe speaks to you, you alone, out of 7 billion+ people on teh planet.. you have an opportunity, thanks to the advancements in technology, to speak to 750,000 of your followers "live", and another 750,000 or so within 24 hours.. 1.5 million people!
hanging on your every word!.
this is the first time in history you can simultaneously, or nearly simultaneously, address so many of your adherents.. what message are you going to present for this special occasion?.

Therefore, reducing congregation and personal supplies will allow revised publications to be introduced into the field more quickly. In this regard, we are pleased to announce that revised editions of What Does the Bible Really Teach? and “Keep Yourselves in God’s Love” will be released in the future. Recent adjustments related to doctrinal matters will be reflected in the revised editions. Also, material in the revised books will be updated to contain quotations and references from the revised New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures . In view of these upcoming revisions, it would be good to give special attention to reducingthe supply of the books that may be on hand.
This part is missing in the German letter. So it might be that the books are as usual released first in English because the German revision of the NWT isn´t ready at the moment.

Are we starting to treat DF people differently?
by Quarterback insome may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.

Perhaps they will make a difference between people who are "only" sexual "unmoral" on the one hand and those who are acting publically against the org on the other hand. Hm, maybe they soften their position towards the first group? Just thinking...

The letter was addressed to the congregation service committee and was not read out in the midweek service meeting. Perhaps someone has the english version of the letter.

Will firing the DOs be the first step to a new Watchtower?
by Juan Viejo2 inagainst my better judgement, i've decided to share the following as a response to guy pierce passing and the announcement of the elimination of district overseers later this year.. late in january (2014) i got an email from one of my contacts (a fader) who served at bethel for several years, but is no longer at wt hq.
he still has a lot of close contacts within the service department and in other departments at patterson and knows people in all of the ny offices.
i kept this email set aside on a flash drive and haven't shared it with anyone - figuring i'd publish an article about it later this year when i had more time to do it right.

i was knocked into a deep, deep sleep by the imagined experience of being at several thousand consecutive kingdom halls as the platformed drones spat forth the predictable sludge that, once released, hits and stains white clothing and bleach is useless.. we know that memorial attendance worldwide has dipped for two consecutive years since 2011 when it reached a high of 19,374,737 and for the promised land, obama's usa, the all time memorial attendance high was also 2011 when it hit over 2.5million (2,563,518) but shrunk in shame back to 2,502,055 in 2012 and spluttered upwards a handful or two to 2,504,114 last year.. so, what was attendance at the date-obsessed bore-fest this year in your neck of the woods?

Is it correct to count people who are listening the memorial by thelephone? They are no "observers". They don´t receive the symbols... BTW: In our congregation the attendance was lower than last year.
Sorry for my poor English (i´m from Germany).
