Is heart breaking to hear how these people wasted a lifetime in this organization & now doubting when they could've used that time in better things that brought more happiness in their lives instead of the burdens that your never doing enough... so they read a letter asking for more money yesturday? I didn't go to mtg this past week....

Why do people follow demonstrably False Prophets?

It's the illusion that keeps many JWs blinded no matter how much you prove to them many turn a blind eye... the WT has used many clever adjectives in justification of their false prophecies & using words like "false prophets", false teachings, false expectations when referring to themselves is not among them... honestly I've asked myself the same question & they are just "captives of a concept" like Raymond Franz stated.... many like to stay in that "dream of a Godly organization" that doesn't exist... they don't want to awaken & the few of us that do its because we don't dare to turn away from facts & the real truth no matter how difficult it is. -

by What Now? injust looking for some rebuttals to 2 john 10, specifically when it comes to shunning family.
we essentially admitted to our families that we do not want to raise our kids as witnesses and do not believe what jehovah's witnesses teach.
predictably, they use 2 john 10 to justify shunning us, specifically the portion of the verse where it says "if anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him".. since we are apostates (according to the jw definition), and no longer "bring this teaching", would our family be correct in interpreting this verse to mean that they should shun us?.

As you know jws equate leaving the WT as rejecting God himself if you can reason with them explaining & establish you don't reject God but want to worship him how the bible commands it and not how men want you to worship him... read the whole account first in context so u can defend your position first as to what it was talking about. -

Is it true? Heard a rumor WT postphones Disfellowshipping until further notice!!??
by Olivia Wilde ini am not sure if it's true but i heard from a good source that wt has given instructions to elders to postponed disfellowshipping members from wrong doing/gross sin until further instructions given by headquarters.
i heard some jws were just reproved either privately or publically.
has anyone else heard anything like this recently?

Lostwun: I wonder if the WT is getting challenge that it is violating "freedom of speech" laws in the USA & that is why the elders were told by the org to leave it be, because just expressing doubts or speaking could be covered under the freedom of speech?? Just a thought! -

A question about fading....
by Tornintwo ini understand that many on this forum are undertaking a slow fade, over months, years even.. can i ask what is the benefit of that instead of a fast fade?.
as i understand it, the elders only have to deal judicially with people who are still active witnesses, known in the community as witnesses, having contact and influence with witnesses etc.
so surely the sooner you stop attending meetings the better.

I don't have family in so I really don't have that to loose...I'm slowly fading just to deprogram my child, we already stopped going to the weekly mtg & i don't want them to start asking me questions since I already have plan to completely fade begining of this year with the excuse of moving to another cong. & I'm changing my #, i never gave them my home address.... i think if you don't have family in & ur friends in the org are not really "friends", with their clicks & conditional friendships & u have mostly "worldly" friends which in my opinion are better friends anyway, I see no reason to stop going cold turkey, i would!! -

One elder commented in the paragraph abt exercise that we should think abt going to a gym because of what people wear & being around "those people that dress not appropriately ( tight pants) & being around pple who do not worship God, not good for a jW" my mouth dropped & disgusted with that comment, ok that goes with work, shopping at malls & grocery shopping etc.... mediocracy at its worse .... arrogant people living in a WT BUBBLE...

Hubby says we are living in a "matrix" like life & that it explains the many Dejavu moments we experience & when we die we go to another demension... he runs at a high IQ, ... i have wonder if we are reliving the same lifetime over & over & it goes in cycles, ends at one point & restarts again, hubby swears we were together in a different lifetime...
I must admit I do experience many many Dejavu moments at times the same scenarios or completely different ones & i can tell what's going to happen next, I can't explain it... i do wonder how many people experience this since I spoken to some & they say it has never happened to them... must have been all the fish mama ate while pregers of me

Who comes up with these songs? This organization is unrecognizable, they know many people are drifting away and that is why Sanders went thru that article that about it being a mistake thinking the great tribulation is many decades far away, my goodness it's been over 100 years the same thing.
