  i remember about 20 years ago it got really ridiculous with the seating attendants. I know cause I was one at the time.

  it became a big issue that attendants were saving seats BEFORE the main doors opened and "the friends" were complaining that the best seats were being taken by those with priviledges so attendants were instructed that any books or cases seen on a seat before 8am was to be removed eventhough an attendant could place them there at 8:00:01am and beat the herd anyway.

  As ridiculous as this was/is some attendants were militant about this. At one assembly the week after mine I heard that attendants were told they had to stand in the hallway until 8am, and not only this they had to stand at the opposite side of the hall so they would have to cross it to get to the stairway in the stadium. INSANE.

  I heard there were attendants being total dicks about it. I actually was walking with an attendant that was blatantly insulting another for not allowing us to cross the collisium floor - meaning we had to walk around the entire stadium

  I guess when you have a thankless, menial job 50 hours a week cleaning shitty toilets at minimum wage it makes you feel pretty special to boss people around at assemblies.

  whenever the wts/jws face being banned or limited in activity the wts is quick to turn to the courts for support for their right to worship as protected under various human right organizations.

  They would respond that sure, you have the right to whatever religious thought you want. . . You'll just lose all of your family and friends, that's all.

  you even have the right to accept a blood transfusion but the same applies, you just lose all your freinds and family and no JW will have anything to do with you whatsoever.

  what the greece government should do is say it is your right to not attend the military but if you don't you will not qualify for any government financial aid for unemployment, retirement, health, etc.
  Oh it's your right to do as you want, but we will not have anything to do with you if you do.

  See how well that goes over with the biggest hypocrites on the planet (that would be the WTS if you don't get sarcasm)

  but we all know better. And the JW subconscienciously makes this connection too.

  im a born-in and Ive never felt that I could socialize normally.

  as a JW kids in the hall HAD to be my friend, it wasn't till I was older that I realized who actually liked me and who didn't.

  Now that I am mentally out but still trapped by the cult by way of my family, it is very hard to speak with people, even those that know I am out mentally because I can never do anything with them with my family. I can't make plans or anything because my JW family is too good to lower themselves to associate with worldlies (also worldlings)

  To this day I am still gullible and not intuitive at all about what is going on around me in a social setting. I just have the "I hope they like me" drama that I should have gotten over as a teenager.

  I used to when I believed the JW horse shit. When I was a kid my mother always talked about "demon attacks" because of my music collection or some such shit

  why the hell would demons attack my mother becasue of my Nirvana CD?

  of course I experienced an episode of sleep paralysis and thought it was Satan. then I read a book other than a watchtower magazine and now I am not scared of demons, Jehovah or the WTS.

  funny how I was scared of demons but it was Jehovah that was gonna kill me for touching myself. I'll bet those demons would have been nice about that sort of thing......

  How Do JWs View Gluttony?

  in my county, some of our appointed brothers and sisters are suffering from obesity, eating disorders and heavy drinkings.

  what is the best way to approach brothers in charge, who are morbidly overweight, don't care about their physical appearance?

  i asked a couple elders once if one could be DF'd for gluttony. They hummed and hawed and then nodded yes.

  I then asked them if they would like to be on that committee... lol - of course neither wanted to be!

  I was once told by a sister she was glad I was at her 'get-together' because a sister's UBH was coming and he thinks all JW's are fat and out of shape. Well since I am not waiting for Armageddon to save me from my impending high cholesterol heart attack, I take good care of myself.

  Little did she know that all the JW's in that room WERE fat and out of shape since I am actually an apostate.

  i am no longer one of jehovah's witnesses(well mentally that is)---however i am a christian...i recently started reading different translations from www.biblegateway.com...jesus is so different to how the jw's teach....and god...i mean, i still am learning and confused about certain things but i am in love with them.... it's obvious that the jw's are not an organization of god.i don't think god is working through an organization but through individuals...however i am going to speak to an elder tomorrow about my issues---all of them---and i'm going to tell him everything--what i've been reading,where i got it from---everything!!

  i'm not hiding anything!

  i have done no wrong....i just want to be a true christian and if they disfellowship me for seeking answers then this is not where i need to be.

  but be warned, even if you were convinced by their answers you will be disciplined, so not being convinced you will be DF'd - but that isn't exactly a bad thing for you.

  ive always viewed the option to write a letter as less of an appeal to 'fairness' and more of humble test for those disciplined.

  basically along the lines as what Billy said. they are beating you into submission - the BOE doing may not directly realize that this is the case (since they are brainwashed) but that is what the WTS knows they are doing and why they do it.

  if you accept your discipline you are humble, if you write a letter then your not humble. Simple
