  to this vary day if you say that the "new system" could be 20-30 years away you would be counseled for a bad attitude.

  after the last generation change this point was clearly driven home at our CA by our CO. TO paraphrase "we would NOT conclude that the new system could be 20 or 30 years away, that would be very dangerous to think such a thing"

  as many of us are aware the wt society has done quite nicely in a material way for themselves.

  the sales of properties of the former " bethel " in brooklyn amassed them millions of more $$$$ .

  they have relocated into upstate new york and are building like wildmen.

  I quit a job b/c I was going to be put on afternoon shift which meant missing meetings. This was literally the single best employer in my city and extremley difficult to get into.

  The look on people's faces when I told them I actually quit my job there was complete disbelief. If I had stayed there I would have had a full retirement with benefits indexed to inflation for life by age 48 !!! (30 years and out baby!) Now I will work until I am in a box.

  because i was raised a witness, i don't think i was "uncomfortable" knocking on strangers' doors.

  (weirdo).. but as i got older, i simply didn't want to bother anyone so i was at there door for no more than 30 seconds.

  at the end i hated being there..

  If you were in a crappy car group, you knew where you were on the Theocratic Ladder!

  so true!!!

  I remember a buddy of mine was out on a weekday with his family and a bethelite couple visited our KH that week. 2 Elders and their wives crammed themselves and the 2 bethelites into a 6 seater van and sent my buddy out with just his family. they were so discouraged when they were driving to the territory they just drove home.

  oh the theocratic ladder is alive and well!

  i did it and I was okay at too, but I hated every second of it... even when I pioneered I loathed it.

  I used to long for the paradase so I would never have to knock on doors again. oh yes! that WOULD be paradise!

  to me, this is what I expect to see more and more of..... elders love bombing inactive ones to either

  a) bring them back

  b) motivate the inactive one to clearly state they are out (ie: DA)

  c) after a some effort has been made (perhaps over 1 year) with no response, announce that so-&-so is no longer a J-dub

  I sincerely believe that this is going to occur if not already started. The WTS has laid the ground work for this already in WT articles over the past couple years

  Continuing in the Kingdom-preaching work in these last days requires faith in Jehovah’s timing. The changing world situation may call for some changes in how the disciple-making work is carried on. The organization may occasionally make adjustments to address the needs of our activity as Kingdom proclaimers. We demonstrate faith in the God of “times and seasons” by fully cooperating with such adjustments as we serve loyally under his Son, the “head of the congregation.”—Eph. 5:23. - Emphasis added - w12 5/15 p. 20, para. 15

  nothing is really being said here. While I agree the WTS likes to "set the stage" for change(s), this is already occuring (16 page awake, study/public WT, lots of tract work, etc)

  This really could just be a reference to the changes that have already ocurred. Will the D2D work ever end? NEVER !

  D2D will absolutely never end. this is what makes the WTS the power house of a cult that it is. Without D2D the WTS dies. Period.

  If there are yet more changes planned for "the needs of our activity" it will be more tracts and less magazines, more brochures and less books, there will be another "6 months and out" campaign which will then be lovingly scaled back to allow slower ones to ease into the "truth".
  we may even see more TV Commercials by the WTS, or certainly more internect presence and downloads such as our recent sparlock saga. This is all easily explained away as "adjustments to meet the needs of our activity"

  i think this will be just another elder school no different than any other. IF this was indeed an "emergency" planned school it will only be optics for the courts to butress their ridiculous claim that candice conti created caused the WTS to change internal policy.

  there will be a bunch of direction on how to fill out paperwork and call bethel regarding any kind of abuse case.

  Thats it.

  Although I love the part about "Yahweh's Witnesses". that would kick ass

  i was reading this news article and it brings out that nasa is planning a manned mission to mars.

  nasa plans to work with other countries on this mission, and not just go it alone.

  it turns out that the obama administration has set a goal for nasa to have this done by the 2030s.

  A huge waste of money. tens of millions of children are malnourished and living in abject poverty but the US et al wastes 100's of millions of dollars on fantastical boondoggles that don't help a soul. Shameful.

  very short sighted statement. The advancements in food preservation alone for the Mars trip could keep millions of people from starving one day. NASA is preparing shelf stable food rations that can last up to years or more unrefrigerated and taste delicious and be nutritional.... even meat has been kept and eaten after 8 years on a shelf at room temperature.

  It is these huge undertakings that propell technology to levels unnatainable through market based companies.

  Trillions on military spending, billions on drugs, billions on pornography, take money from these and feed the hungry. Don't limit the progress of space travel.

  besides,,,,, it won't cost hundred's of millions, this will cost hundred's of BILLIONS of dollars. Every lbs of food alone costs $1,000,000 to send to Mars and it is estimated they will need 22,000 lbs of food to last the trip (which could take 2.5-3 years).

  Even today it costs over $60k to send 1 litre of water to the moon

  The impression I've had for years regarding Elders and also CO's is that they just want us to function, that's all. Don't be inactive, turn in your reports every month so nothing seems out of the ordinary.
