The year 1914

ok...so after this new light came out in the watchtower study over the weekend...a couple questions:.

1. why is the year 1914 still relevant to the doctrine?.

2. what would the effects be in they were to ever drop the 1914 teaching in the future (let's say 20 years from now)?.

The entire July 15th premise is to maintain 1914 as a significant date

The great trib & Armageddon were already pushed out as future events decades ago, so why the change?

1914 was a hundred years ago...what the heck is Jesus waiting for?

well by splitting Matt 24:45 into two fulfillments they keep 1914 as significant but give purpose to the past 100 years.

Now Jesus is not "arrived" and just waiting around holding back the 4 winds, rather he is fulfilling the time period of Matt 25:45 before the "happy is that slave who's master arrives finding him doing so" part

really, NOTHING has changed. The WTS has just made the R&F feel better about a hundred years of nothing

Feedback from study of JUL 15 WT - Tell Us WHEN Will These Things Be

just got back from meeting.

the study today was as expected.

a combination of simple acceptance, formulaic research and mistakes.. there are clearly many who cannot read a reference (to the wt 95) regarding the sheep and the goats and consider the repetition of the the understanding of the timing of the judging as new light.

people don't ask "why" the changes are ocurring, they just accept the change and try to sound smart by answering all the questions as though this all just makes so much sense now.

very few would think to ask "how is it that Jesus 2 part 2nd coming isn't actually 3 parts now but but still only 2 parts but now the 2nd part has 2 parts in itself?"

It took me a while but I finally found the splinter point to affect this change. Math 24:45 is a 2 part fulfillment. JC's arrival in 1914 to select & cleanse the anointed over a 4 year period (1914-1918). The second is when JC arrives to appoint the F&DS over "all his belongings" which is effectively when the anointed are raptured.

Intersting to note, we now just believe the same timeline we did 50 years ago, that is, Great Tribulation, periof of time, Armageddon. Except now we have pushed the start of the GT to a future time by splitting Math 24:45 into a 2 part fulfillment.

this was necessary to make sure the 2nd generation of the overlapping generations would have something to look forward to after all the 1st generationers are long dead.

Congratulations WTS! Armageddon is now on an infinite timeline that is still coming tomorrow!!

i cannot believe the stupidity and gullability of those that believe this garbage. im ashamed to have once believed their trash myself.

JW's say they will sacrifice their life for their child but only if that means a resurrection for them, take away their chance of a resurrection and the baby is toast.

This is such a disgusting use of guilt to terrify parents into killing their child.

Any parent in the world would jump in front of a bus to save their child from death while sacrifcing their own. Yet as a parent, if you make this ultimate sacrifice for your child by giving them blood, that is, if you sacrifice your life (due to disobediece to WTS) in order to save the life of your baby (who is incapable of knowing what is going on) You are not making a sacfrifice to save your child because according to Watchtower you are dooming your child to eternal death.

Where this breaks exposes the hypocrisy of the WTS

Blood vs Rape

Does this mean that if a despicable sexual deviant RAPED a baby that the baby would be doomed to eternal death for adultery??????

i hear you guys constantly mentioning ttatt so where can i go to learn more about this (links please)?

also i've already told my mom that i don't believe in the governing body and she is making me do even more!

its a perfectly innocent question, but you'd be amazed how many JW's have NO IDEA how to answer it, becuase they avoid it and the WTS offers little regarding such in print.

don't go fast with it, just ask her like :"you know what I've always wondered? Why Jehovah created dinosaurs"

leave it at that. Let her think. Every WTS answer will contradict itself.

1 - dinos live prior to 65 million years ago, but WTS say dinos died in the flood, I thought the flood was 4000 years ago?

2 - dinos have never lived while man was on earth, where they in the garden of eden?

3 - animals in the garden of eden lived in peace, archeologists have found dino fossils with dino bones in their stomachs. Why did Jehovah create flesh eating, murderous monsters?

4 - aquatic dinosaur fossils have been found in mountain tops and deserts, techtonic plates move in mm's per year, how did they move thousands of miles in only a few hundred years without the earth tearing itself apart?

the dinosaur question is great!! because it will bug them for days while they try to figure out a way around some a simple question

Seriously though- I need to help my sister get out before she gets baptized which she is planning to in like a few months. I must stop her!! How do I approach her in a way that she will listen.. ._.

you've had a lot of good advice here. I would strongly recommend at 15 years of age to respect your parents and don't buck the system too hard.

Many of us here have been trying to fade and help family for years, even decades. You must face the reality that you may not be able to "help" your family as quickly as you hope.

For you, you need to back down a bit. Your parents know you "doubt" (or at least that's what they call it) BUT - If you start speaking against the WTS they will label you an apostate an then you have WAAAAAY more problems, baptized or not you will be an apostate and your fading dreams will vanish.

as for your sister, if you push her too fast her JW conditioning may kick-in and actually back fire on you.... reinforcing her conviction. You will be a "machination of Satan" at that point and nothing you say or do will ever reach her.

if you want to reach your sister, try asking her "why" she wants to get baptized. Many young people get baptized b/c freinds are or b/c of parental pressure. You can find articles that show that her dedication from the heart must happen first. The actual baptism is a symbol of that dedication she has already made in her heart.
You may be able to get her to acknowledge she is desiring baptism for the wrong reasons, for appearances sake and not b/c of a true whole hearted desire to please Jehovah

Timing of the "new light" study and the upcoming annual meeting

i find it interesting that the 7/15 watchtower will be studied from september 2-29th and then the annual meeting will be exactly one week after.

.

it strikes me as an effort to emphasize the fds and their role before a big announcement.. siam .

actually I think this is a very clever insight. At the very least they will be able to make a big deal about their own centralized authority over the audience.

Then when so many "spiritual brothers" appluade and happily obey the R&F will lap it up and so too be happified.

Sometimes I think that the Apostates are more looking forward to the annual meeting then witnesses :P
