anyone know what has happened to freemind.org website?

it's still up but it looks like a shell of the site i remember back five or six year years ago.

if i am not mistaken, i think randy may have taken ill over the years.

backhanded compliment to Sunday speaker

a couple years ago we had a speaker, better than average, give the talk.

since i was still pretty much a believer, i commented to him how i enjoyed the talk, and how it was "entertaining".

it was, but he got mad as it was one of the beat the fear of god (governing body) into you talks.

How Would You Console A Witness Who Has Lost A Loved One?

let’s say that you haven’t been around a kingdom hall in years and everyone knows you are not a “true believer “ anymore.

yet a tragedy strikes and you want to give a real heartfelt expression of your feelings— what would you say?

would you acknowledge the resurrection hope that the witnesses entertain or say something very different?.

No it’s not time to “get even”

And when the roles are reversed it’s not time to preach.... but we all know how that works

imagine a JW in the home of a deceased DF’d sibling, imagine the uncomfortable silence from him, that silence would scream “if he wasn’t DF’d he’d have the resurrection, he knew better”

Unfortunately Most JWs enjoy when a DF dies, gives them a real sense of validation

2017 Annual Meeting

this just in from the 2017 annual meeting:.

1. watchtowers and awakes won't be released regularly, at least three watchtower and awakes per year.

6 magazines a year.. 2. a new book is being released: remain in god's love, more of an update like how they did for the what does the bible really teach book.

my family hasnt signed the blood paper but still say no blood (well the adults do).i overheard a elder taking to my aunt about the blood papaers she needs to fill out.but he also aid she needs a make a small little letter saying i wont take blood.some times i wish i never heard that talk.. even tho i knew i would have to stand up for me being hable to have life.now i just zone out and think will i die for something thats a lie?.

im going to try not to think about it for a little my head hurts after this..

my dr did axactly that

staff knows too that if they view a patient file it’s logged, and if done without authorization they will likely lose their job

My dr told me this cause there was jw working in same office

In my hall we had talk recently about blood cards, said Cong. only had 4 blood cards on file from over 100 publishers. Pretty obvious the “friends” don’t want big brother policing their personal medical choices

and i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.

but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .

how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?

Another example of the smothering and high control nature of JW husbands

i have noticed another popular pattern of behaviour amongst witnesses in recent years.. many, and i mean lots of ones with instagram accounts have closed the wife's account, and have started a "couple's" account instead.

also, for families.

the children's accounts have been closed, and the husband starts a "family account".. it is mainly on the husband's device, and seemingly under his control.

I disagree with you completely

families members are being more and more isolated by "private" social media. Creating family accounts would encourage family time, conversation and a better sense of family

All families should do this, JW, catholic, atheist, Muslim or otherwise

You should stop letting anger control your life and quit looking for the "bad" in everything.
