  100 Years of Disappointment on the Horizon

  even as an elder, i had doubts as to this being "the one true religion".

  i personally had chosen 2014 as one of those "make or break" dates.

  fortunately, i left years ago.

  it was for me, I was out, yet still in mentally.. It was a future date I had set for myself to look at the religion I was brought up in...(2014)

  I had quit smoking in 2007 and I thought I could get reinstated .. put off looking till 2009 .. WOW !! then put off again till 2011.. WOW again ..

  I thought they would die with Freddie Franz.. because in my brief stint at bethal in 1984, I thought .. "they worship this guy".

  even if they bust up, a new one will takes it's place, some people don't want to think for themselves.. that would make them responsible. and that's more than some wish to bear.. I'm afraid

  Why a day behind Passover? Weren't the apostles celebrating Passover?

  First mention of "new light" may appear in July 15, 2013 Watchtower

  a trusted source informs me that the "new light" about the faithful slave is to make its first printed appearance in the july 15th watchtower, which should be available for download online three weeks from now, on around april 15th.. i'm led to believe that the references to the new understanding are made in such a manner as to suggest the "new light" isn't that new at all, which suggests to me that little or no effort is being made to explain the doctrinal connotations.

  my source and i are hoping to get a key paragraph posted at the earliest opportunity.

  So from their standpoint, it makes more sense that a group directly involved in the publication and dispensation of such 'spirtual food' would be those who actually had a part in it rather than some old woman or man who partook but did little else

  .

  then shouldn't that include all at bethal .. not just the self appointed cracker crunching CEOs

  Examples please; How does the WTS 'bait and switch' after Baptism...?

  i was wondering if there is a list already on here that presents the key 'game changers' or 'bait and switch' points that will happen once you get baptised?

  this can include behavioral changes by the already members towards the newly baptised.. i've read somewhere about the 'love bombing' and how that stops, heard a bit about the time-in-service reporting, and that pressure to attend the meetings goes up (esp.

  if missing a few).

  I was bombarded with it's the END.. any day.... AHHH AHHH!!!

  Then the day of Baptism the guy who got the "credit" for studing with me slapped me on the shoulder and said, " NOW YOU HAVE TO ENDURE"

  HE explained that 'That's what his guy told him!"

  So at that moment everything changed .. and now the end wasn't quite as NEAR.. and I NEEDED to tone it down.. on the END stuff.. I felt totaly manipulated ..

  IT was like WTF.. I was out less than 3 years later

  There was a knock at the door....

  or more like a thunking sound really, which set our little dog into a fit of barking.

  i crawled out from behind the fridge where i was doing a repair on the waterline for the icemaker, so i could go see what all the commotion was about.

  i fugured it was going to be my neighbor returning my ladder but instead it was jw's handing out memorial invites.. the woman and the young man (her 20 something son) were people i had known but hadn't seen since we faded 4+ years ago.

  they go Door to Door to tell people they are RIGHT and YOU are wrong ... appologize for nothing .. if they don't want to hear it.. they should stay home and mind their own buisness..

  The reason they like to highlight the suffering of Jesus at the memorial

  is so they can then use it as an excuse to make the congregation work even harder.

  surely if jesus had six-inch nails hammered through his hands you can do more in field service.. if jesus could die of slow asphyxiation on the torture stake you can get to the convention even if you have four kids and two jobs or are 93 and nearly blind.. you are letting jesus down and making his agony count for nothing if you don't give until it hurts.. this is why they talk about a man being tortured to death in graphic detail in front of little children as i once was at the kingdon hall.

  this is why i dreaded the memorial..

  The same reason The Passion of The Christ out sold every other Christ movie by like a billion to one......

  It's a horror story.. he didn't just die for us .. he had to suffer too.. so it seem a bit more than a balancing of the scales.. but an instalation of fear..

  If it was a life for a life , why couldn't it have been a merciful death? how does the fear and horror balance the scales "better" ..

  The koolaid sipping aint far off now....

  so today after the meeting an older pioneer sister was outside as people were talking about the wonderful experience from the yearbook of the family in nigeria or wherever that went to the meeting and the plane destroyed their neighborhood.

  but since they were at the metting they lived..... .

  so she says, "you heard about the ones that died in a bus crash on the way to the convention????
