  Was anyone basically 'imprisoned' as a teen by JW parents?

  so in my mid teens i finally refused to stop all jw activity naively thinking i may be able to live a more normal life.

  (i was already taken out of school at 14.

  ) after this i wasn't allowed to go outside even a few feet in front of the door by myself.

  dirty trick at the meeting re facebook

  my daughter told me about last weeks service meeting part on facebook.... the brother doing the parts asked for a show of hands who had a facebook account.. apparently a number of elders did.. (she did not put up her hand...in fact recently deleted all jws off her friends because she doesnt want them to know anything about her life).

  i thought that was a dirty trick to pull.. oz.

  Net site for ex-jw dating, any out there?

  i was thinking about this because it appear that so many.

  young ones are coming out.

  person i would want to date was a ex-jw.. i look at the young lady my son is dating and they have.

  ya I think it's a bad idea now .. I considered it because I've had trouble in the past in relationships.. I was shunning Holidays which can be a sore spot for wordly people.. my Mom say's she quit going to meetings, because she didn't want to wait for an elderette to die to get a new mate..

  Her last boyfriend broke up with her because she wouldn't celebrate Christmas.. he just wanted to take her to his grandkids.. to see the Joy of the little ones.. she wouldn't budge... the one before that broke it off because she wouldn't vote , she let me read the letters , I thought they made good points..

  My last GF was my sweetheart from JR high, I bought her a ring when we were 12, we hooked up on FB, then she moved in, Iwas prepared to celebrate everything.. I told her I loved christmas... lied .. then the first holiday that came up was Mothers day.. she said you have to call your Mother.. I started to explain.. she DIDN"T Believe me, she thought I was making it up, to get out of calling.. I started a fight.. Iwish I would have just called now and offened my Mom.. LOL anyway she is Gone now for other reason, and I am alone again..

  I don't know where I'll find my soul mate I'm interested in a girl now who is buddist.. I know I could never be with anyone real religious..

  Ex JW is still a consideration... but not to keen after reading some posts on here... Just sarted reading CCMC.. so I have some work to do with me first, my doal is to become a new me and find 'true love'like in the Princess Bride..LOL

  it's a great idea.. they have JWdating sites .. one you have to know the songs in the latest KM to enter .. another I saw . read a few post it was hillarious .. an elderly woman looking for someone to walk arm and arm with into the new system.. get real.. ha ha

  most ex-JW's want to forget they were.. though..

  What is it with you plp on the subject of janitors & window washers?

  I bet I will make more money this year commercial cleaning than alot of you yanks who are now on patheticly reduced wages & in real currency (Australian)

  never said they didn't make money or it was bad... it's that alot of JW's are ... it's a fact.. you read too much into it ..

  Social networks a huge no from the service meetings!

  ok so i sort of tie in and listen to the meetings.

  the elders blocked my number lasy fall but then they let me back in???

  not a clue what that was about.. so anywho these last two service parts have been on social networks.

  I hate the Holiday's too ... but I'm sick of not celebrating as well.. I don't go out of my way, either way.. I do like being social .. and that is important..

  But I'm more tired of my Mom calling me before Thanksgiving, Christmas and saying "well since you have the day off and their isn't alot to do since everything is closed.. I'm thinking of having you and your brothers over for dinner.. would you like to come over for dinner?"

  Me 'OK"

  Mom "is there any thing you would like me to make"

  Me "Turkey stuffing would be great We've never had it"

  MOM " OH NO! I couldn't do that and you know WHY"

  me "OK nacho's !"

  she hasn't be to a meeting in a least 20 years.. because she claims she didn't want to wait around for some elderette to die to feed an old man his last few bowls of oat meal.. mean while every worldly guy she's dated has broken it off due to her stance on holidays ..

  I say go back to the Hall or get with the rest of the real society

  or do what ever you want, but quit crying about it
