take them to the park, let them swing on the monkey bars... they'll decide for themselves when they are old enough... why would you want to predisposition them..
let them grow up first for god sakes ...

Do Individual JWs Pay For The Publications They Distribute?
by Joe Grundy inexcuse my ignorance, and i've read on boards about the us not selling/inviting contributions issue, but do individuals jws in effect pay for the publications they give out?
if so, is that only for their magazines or for hardback books as well?
how is this organised, please?.

thanks for the bump... I've been curious about this for some time...
when I was a child it was always watchtower and awake 15cents... and i remember we always took money but never more.. it was just to cover the cost of printing .. and we were not on a donation campaign.. but if they didn't pay we wouldn't place, we needed to know there was real interest... it was a to seperate people who would take stuff just to get you off their porch.. that was what i was told...
then when the change was made, i remember being a Bethel on a 2 week construction deal and M.E.P.S had just came out recently I was told that when the society asked IBM to write the program, they were told that's imposible... so the society with Jehovah's blessing did it... and sold it back to IBM .. and with the royalities.. they were set for life.. and that is why they no longer asked for donations, I never paid for any thing after That.. but I was kicked out shortly there after.. and always wondered about the inside info I had been given, I noticed it's never been repeated on here..
DID anyone elese hear this.?

my marriage failed because of the Borg... I was disfellowshiped for sex and felt I would never get reinstated if i didn't get married, which was never pressed in all the JC's I had prior to the big one.. I married a girl 6 months after meeting her.. and i never went back to meetings either.. so then I was like why did I get married .. any way thats my storry
i was thinking you were leaning towards those who got married for sex in the truth and then realize they don't even like this person... the circumstances for everyone will vary greatly on this one for sure thanks for clarifing... wasn't sure if belief keep you together/ though incompatible... hadn't considered when one leaves WT...

got to actually help someone today
by finally awake injust ron and i spent a few hours today helping clean up tornado damage in ridgway.
i never got to do anything like that when i was a witless.
my field circus hours were never deemed high enough to participate in quick builds or disaster relief work..

why would they care about hours to participate in that.. we had a 2day hall in 84,, every one got in on that, it gave the people who didn't have alot of hoursa chance to participate... man they really push the field circus...
glad I got out in 87...

Does the Watchtower magazine carry more weight than the Bible?
by Sour Grapes inlast week as i listened to the public talk, i noticed.
that several times the speaker referred to the watchtower.
as the source of authority.. he said that "in the july1, 1980 watchtower page 15. paragraph 4 it says".... it is like he was looking up a bible.

I did some research on cults... found out it doen't have to be one human leader either, though the brother who brought me in kept repeating that and I quote " every thing about Jehovah's Witnesses is like a cult, except that they have one human leader.... so we can't be a cult"
A system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.... here's a definition I just looked up... don't tell me you don't venerate the Governing Body ..
Oh and by the way counting your time on here is completely unscriptural.... you are never supposed to talk to us, and never about scriptural matters or have they changed that? does the society want you to talk to apostates ? and count it as preaching time ..
WE've already heard the good news and made our choice ... you are doing a disservice to all the meek hearted ones who need the message .. is jehovah directing you here...
