Do you think Jesus WANTED to be turned into a religion?
by humbled instuff that has happened to me and people of other religions that i've met and read about--it makes me wonder if the caretakers of "holy writings" haven't bent us with their theology and pedantry.. i don't think jesus wanted us to make a religion.. he offered an experience of faith that was first and foremost an invitation.
the gospels--even if half diluted with error can't dispel the experiences we feel if we accept these words at face value: john 7:17-18.. i can't stay on- going to doctors today.. thanks.
maeve.

Apostates are Perverts!!!
by His Excellency in.
last sunday's public talk was about tools the devil uses to tear down our faith, and as usual; apostacy, false teaching and erroneous thinking came up in the point, and the speaker went on and on, accusing apostates of being perverts and aspiring to live a life of debauchery which couldn't be tolerated amongst jehovah's people.. he further went on stating that if eventually apostates get into the world, they often find themselves not being able to mix up with satan's system as a result of the bible based understanding which they had acquired, and they ended up getting bitter and wasting their lives .
those words were quite frightenning, i never heard it this strong before!!

when you figure it out let me Know.. because I was hoping to go to therapy for just that..
Don't they cover that in therapy 101?
I'm being serious too. I know I kid alot..
My not being able to move on after 20+ years out, lead me here.... It's kinda hard when you've been brainwashed since birth that nothing in this world is worthwhile.. except waiting for god to FIX IT all in his new order..
Please let me know if you have a cure for this

way more.. if you look at COC the first thing Ray noticed when he got to bethal was, The number of baptism and increase of Publishers was way out of skew.. they lose 25% in the first year..
it's a revolving door.. most just move on as a bad experince and never look at it again ..

Long Overdue Observation
by earthfire ini just thought this was funny when it popped into my head this morning.
funny because i should have thought of it long ago and i'm sure that i'm not the first to think this.
the big point comes after my little spiel.. so, god tells noah to build an ark because he has a lot of killing of the wicked to do and only noah and his family seem to be good enough.

straight to paradise ... hunh!! as opposed to the alternate where you DIE and wait to be resurrected, is this paradise in an unknown realm..
and not on the future earth... or do the just go to the front of the line in the resurection order..
I think the Koolaid is currently being served..
think about this .. are there any Cults that ended in a Good way?
I couldn't find any examples .. but, a bunch that end badly very badly

Could this be accurate?
by NeverKnew inis the information on this webpage* regarding the socioeconomic conditions of jws a fair connection to the all too familiar wts quote of 1969?
does the report's statistics appear to be plausible given your personal observations?
*even though many others have copied and pasted the article (including the individual who created the page hyperlinked above), i'm apprehensive about doing so for copyright reasons.

Reason
by dissonance_resolved inso as someone newly awakened, my thoughts have turned to "why didn't i see this sooner?
how could i be so blind?
" part of it is that i never realized anyone may have left due to differences with the doctrine.

my thoughts have turned to "why didn't I see this sooner? How could I be so blind?
Totally feel you there.. I left thinking, they had problems but still had the truth... didn't think it good to teach to my daughter..
then one day while explaining to someone why I didn't celebrate christmas.. " I said God don't any of you people, research where your beliefs come from!!!"... light bulb went off ...I never did for the religion I was born in!!
I like to say JWFACTS showed me they were wrong... The poster on this site Terry showed me they are pure evil...
and now I want to picket Kingdom Halls .. but I'll probably just chase them out of my neighborhood if I see them.. LOL .. no really I will
good luck .. I know how you feel ..

Jesus didn't care about chronologies and bible knowledge--why should we?
by humbled inwhen i read the gospels, i don't find a bunch of numbers.
i loved that jesus talked in a way that left me wide open to respond to god.
"love god with your whole heart, mind, soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself".

I love the dub term accurate knowledge.. was that the key to salvation? or as Ding said secret knowledge..
I left maintaining spirit and truth where enough for me..
It always bugged me all this chronologies stuff ... it blows me a way that people on here spend the time and energy they do on it..
To what end... I love this line from Jim Mora .. you think you know .. but you really don't know .. and you never will

agreed ... when I realised " Does God really expect me to figure all this mumbo jumbo out, to please him? I think he would have made things a little more certain!"
He didn't doesn't care about that.. why should anyone.. I think anyone that thinks they can, or it matters is way out of touch with reality..
