@onager ahaha
when you start humming you can use the following daft punk song which fits perfectly
first of all, sorry if i cannot correctly express the original expression used in my native language to ask for the "spiritual condition".. a few years ago some member of the family asks my wife directly how is her "spiritual health" (for me it's one of the many strange vocabulary used by jw like "the slave says...").
she was catched by surprise with the direct question and says that everything is ok... and luckily someone call them for lunch.. my question is: do you have any good answers for that question?
you can be ironic/use some humor because the question is a little bit anecdotical .

i saw this on reddit:.
https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/5mlgsm/2017_yearbook_of_jehovahs_witnesses/.
overall the numbers are better than last year (1.8% growth compared to 1.5% last year -- as i predicted ;-) ) with an increase in all major figures including 1300 more congregations (i assume this is not physical kingdom halls?).
@slimboyfat
I notice two of the countries contributing the most to JW growth, Brazil and Angola, are Portuguese speaking. I wonder if there is a shortage of online and print material exposing JW history and practices in Portuguese? If so I wonder if this might be a gap to fill. If JW growth in those two countries halted there'd be little or no growth left overall.
If you notice Portugal have another "zero growth". In Portugal the apostate community collaborates with a major tv channel on a prime time documentary which exposes the organization (it was the most viewed documentary of the the year).
the explanation for the Brazil and Angola is simple... unfortunately they aren't a fully developed country where to be part of a cultish religion is highly stigmatized. On a recent political development on Brazil we saw the rise of a group of evangelicals politicians on the Brazilian government. Angola is very poor country with a lot of uneducated people with a strong Christian presence, so it's a "easy" territory for the org. You can fill up a Kingdom Hall with a bunch of kids only with the curiosity to saw some org lame video production.
november 1, 2016 to all bodies of elders re: using and maintaining kingdom halls.
table of contents.
ownership .........................................................................................pars.
Nice leak, as always!
I specially "enjoyed" the internet access policy, let's revoke the passwords for the "spiritual weak" not access apostate sites
we all know that education is severely demonized in this religion.
and that the elders are appointed based on how many meetings they attend, hours they put in on the ministry and general attitude to other elders (as apposed to, you know, actual theological training and counseling) - so my question is, what were your elders occupations outside the kingdom hall?.
in my old congregation our elders consisted of:.
I heard a lot of the "window cleaner stereotype" but I didn't know any elder with that position, also I didn't know any window cleaner worker (maybe it's a unusual job on my country).
Some jobs for the list:
welder, warehouse worker, shop owner, common factory worker, cars seller, constructor, retired, barber...

i heard through the grapevine about a forthcoming book:.
together through the great tribulation - come to jehovah's mountain.
still awaiting solid confirmation though.
I'm waiting for the corrobation of this rumor to. When I saw the book cover my first instinct was towords to the fake rumor. The cover design looks outdated and very different of the current standards, also this diagram wasn't new. Many years ago my dad give me a photocopy of a similar diagram translated to Portuguese...
for those of you who are still in because of family circumstances, what do you do about field service?
do you still go regularly, sporadically or not at all?.
if you do still go, how do you manage?
If it's impossible to avoid all the invitations the above suggestions are useful. Do the minimum, try to stall in every occasion and PLEASE don't convert anyone ;-)
In my current situation, me and my wife put every month 2 fake hours and some magazines on our monthly report. It's enough to don't have some elder to ask us about our service report and to not trigger the "inactivity" alarm.
When we successfully fade away we can stop to continue that lie.
