  i just went and filled out the form asking to be visited.

  i hope they come soon so i can work my super apostate magic!

  uh, if the super apostate magic doesn't work, i'll just let my huge great danes out onto the porch and freak the witnesses out followed by kicking them off my front porch... .

  Bumper Sticker Night

  has anyone ever considered going to the kh on memorial night or even just on some meeting night and putting donate blood stickers on a few cars?

  maybe just the elders' cars?

  lol i was thinking about it and wondered if anyone else thought of it or actually did anything like that..

  KM Sermon for April, "We are providing a Public Service"

  just thought about the suggested sermon for the april magazines in the km.

  it suggests that jw say that they are doing a public service.. a public service, is a service that is rendered by the government.

  doesn't that writing commitee know the meaning of such words.. i wonder if they are trying to mislead by using this wording, or, they just don't get it..

  I have heard of it happening in the past. I think they just hold it a month later. Where is the scriptural support for that? In the NEW TESTAMENT I mean.

  The phone rang a few minutes ago. When my wife said, "Hi Daddy!" I figured it was "the Call". "Panchita can't take me to the memorial tomorrw. Tell Lorenzo I need a ride." I was surprised he merely wanted to remind my darling little red haired girl with the alabaster skin that the memorial is coming up tomorrow. She told him she doubted she was going because she is real sick.

  I am hoping that he got the hint last year when I refused to take him. even just drop him off. But I have a feeling he will call later tonight or maybe tomorrow afternoon complaining that the old harpy won't take him and he needs to go. He NEVER goes to the meetings anymore. He is very ill, but the memorial he MUST make it to. I picture a situation like Jim Carrey coming out of a fake rhino's behind gasping and saying, "Must have AIRRRR!" Must - get - to - the ---memooooriaaaal! All the pain he's in just to go and reject Jesus for the 58th or whatever time in his life. So sad to me.

  But I still won't take him.

  5 after showing that children are not free from rendering an account, the apostle paul goes on to stress the obligation of the parents before god: "and you, fathers, do not be irritating your children, but go on bringing them up in the discipline and authoritative advice of jehovah.

  since parents will render an account for the way they bring up their children, the question arises: what is jehovah's discipline?.

  iirc, there were some pieces here (or links) to what life might actually be like after a catastrophic armageddon.

  they read like the scripts of sci-fi post-apocalypse films.. .

  bearing in mind that the whole basis of the jw religion is apocalyptic, do most/any dubs think of the practicalities beyond 'i'd like to live in that big house'?
