  Adding the simple word “other” solves this translation obstacle, so after 60+ years with with a parenthesis around this word, the unknown translation committee boldly removed this parenthesis, hoping no one would notice.

  got a link for a zoom meeting and thought id share my experience about the mid-week meeting.. guessing about 100 - 120 in cong.. 50 on zoom, only 8 with cameras on - all elderly.

  watching from a detached point of view it's so obvious at how it is nothing but a glorified sales meeting, all designed to promote the org.

  inspirational videos about how everyone can/ should do more to help with projects, in particular how to look after the kingdom hall, complete with bar charts showing levels of achievement to aspire to.. interestingly, tonights book study is about alcohol..

  Meetings are now mostly just a boasting session that is so repetitive, that more and more seem to be just Lip singing their way to paradise. The meetings are so routine,most are losing their misguided zeal to show up, and zoom is their excuse to stay home and connect but just zone out. Zoom is a boon to the elderly, and I’m guessing also to a few to enjoy psalms 104:15 to the fullest.

  the problem with putting out a message like that is what to do when nothing happens.

  remember the made up stories of witnesses in djibouti,africa where they had to walk 2 days in alligator infested waters with no shoes in the blazing sun to attend the meetings?

  they made it to the meetings in these terrible conditions.. talk about made up stories!

  here is a field service experience that was told at yesterday's public talk which would fall into the made up stories!.

  The latest fabrication is about floods in Brazil where large groups of brothers and sisters clean up their own individual homes. As a neighbor watches she comments where did all these helpers come from, and she was told from the local KH. She replied never has anyone from her church come over to help clean her house. These stories always throw mud at other religions, making Jehovah s witnesses appear superior.

  they were positioned in a walk way and i had to go right pass them.

  i tried to keep walking but my legs went straight to them like they had a mind of their own.. they pointed to john 17:3 on how to get saved.

  I at times brought up a question from 30 Years A Watchtower Slave, which no JW has ever given an honest answer to me . It started out with a statement first: You agree that it was one of satan,s lies that people are conscious after death and are tormented. Then why did Jesus knowing that it was satan,s lie, use this lie in the rich man and Lazarus parable without ever explaining it to his desciples?

  happy birthday 2 me!!.

  sunday is my 76th birthday and i know that you want to know how it "feels" to have outlived my usefulness, to have lost my natural beauty (being reduced to wrinkles and flab), and constantly walking into a room not knowing why i'm there.

  you also are curious as to how i can continue to find a reason to live since none of my kids think my opinions have any possible value, most of my facebooks friends i wouldn't recognize if i tripped over them on my way into starbucks, and my monthly expenditure on bird treats exceeds u.s. spending on the military.

  Happy birthday! Now find a 1957 movie “Untamed Youth” with Mamie Van Horn and notice that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Saw this on TCM recently, which reminded me of “Heritage” the Watchtower put out in the 60’s.
