  Does becoming (or remaining) one of Jehovah's Witnesses result in Poverty? Pew Research results differ from Watchtower claims.

  "raised in the truth" during the 50s, 60s,and 70s i repeatedly read and heard from the platform how reading the magazines weekly "was the equivalent of a college education" and how many had turned their family economic situation around by being "trustworthy" and giving up expensive bad habits most "worldly people" had.

  sounded good.. what is the reality?

  how does avoiding higher education, and then spending up to 20 hours a week getting ready for, commuting, and then participating in meetings and field service affect family finances?.

  So many older and younger men are scurrying around trying to grow a beard in Wash towel land, that this time next year, they will resemble a congregation of Amish and unknowingly and unwittingly so. Wonder If they will start wearing a corn grown hat to match. Maybe a collection box for unused razors is in order. They can’t see how predictable they have become, trying to be the first to follow their leaders down the yellow brick road.

  My fur babies celebrate every time I come home and jump up and down as if I was Jesus walking on water. I hug them and they lick me as if it’s the last time they will ever see me. Dogs can’t talk but communicate through pure affectionate love that humans could learn a lot from. They have taught me to celebrate daily this one way journey through life, so Merry Christmas to all!

  lett has announced in the latest video update that jehovah has dignified the brothers by now letting them to choose for themselves whether they want to have a beard or not -.

  One reasoning I’ve heard is calling your birthday, an anniversary of your birth , day. Because everyone has only one birth…day, the day of your birth. Geeze, how pharasidic of them , calling this an anniversary.

  a long, long time ago, when i was young, i became a 'special' pioneer.

  it meant that i had to spend 150 hours a month, and i received a small allowance.

  i was then assigned to a small country congregation, in western nsw (australia).

  I finished up with over 1500 unplaced mags. When the Circuit Servant came for his 6 monthly visit, I asked him what should I do with the old ones. He looked at them and snapped at me, "Place them, of course." Yeah! That would've tested even Jesus' miraculous power
