  Loved Jerry Lewis as a kid. Most kids in my school had never heard of him so i got to be funny be ripping off old time comedians jokes.

  I read somewhere that he used to visit Stan Laurel in his home and get advice on comedy writing.

  Yes the JWs are told to "Keep in expectation!" (WT Aug 2015)... so by expecting it, they're actually delaying it.

  Women in the bible are never regarded as anything more than something to have sex with or something to sell.

  The so-called demon possessed people in the New Testament are very clearly suffering from mental illness or epilepsy. People back then wouldn't have known about mental illness. The Jews believed that sin causes people to become sick, the ancient Greeks thought that the gods influence human behavior.
  

  There's no mention in the bible of the Americas, North or South poles, Australasia or Northern Europe. You'd think an all knowing God would inform his people of this, and most likely want to speak to and guide those people too.

  Every miracle in the bible apparently took place in a relatively small part of the world. From Egypt to Italy, and Iraq to Turkey.

  It is indeed a toxic "religion". Turns decent, kind human beings into delusional, paranoid, guilt trippers. Im sorry to hear of the passing of your fiancee. Its sad that your mother reacted that way.

  My mother tells people im dead, i found the best thing to do was to write her a letter cutting her off from my family. I've felt a lot better since doing this. It's taken away the power she believed she had on me by her shunning me.

  Im not gonna tell you what to do, but none of us need toxic people or things in our lives.

  that's what i've been told by a family member (elder) who went to one of the regional conventions in the north of the u.k lately, who told me the 300 or more disfellowshipped who returned to jehovah by attending show that the end is so close, just like the final talk says..

  i go to the local mcdonald's for a strong latte and raisin toast and i perched my feathers on a corner seat noticing a older european guy in a suit sitting by himself, so i move next to him and said it was warmer this chair.

  i say you on business matters mate, he says ya but seemed only interested in his news paper.

  i knew he was jw because jw assembly hall is not in a business district.

  I've found this too, they don't like engaging in an actual bible conversation. They just refer you to their website. It's getting more culty by the day. Just keep the flock stupid and ignorant and the big boys in Bethel will tell you what to believe.

  born ins are in a unique position in that we never knew any other way of life.

  no birthdays, christmas and overly superstitious family just seemed normal.

  when my parents talked about their pre-jw life it seemed like they were talking about completely different people (actually, that's true, the cult had taken their real selves).. so i'd be interested in hearing how your parents were indoctrinated.. my dad.

  i would like to state publicly, on this forum, i no longer hold the views i had a year ago.. with much thought, research, study and logical examination i have come to a better understanding of my beliefs and where i stand on all these issues.. i'm very happy to announce i have returned to healthful teaching of the holy scriptures and i firmly believe that the governing body of jehovah's witnesses is the faithful slave.. sorry if i have contibuted to any kind of stumbling and know that if i can turn things around then there's hope for all who come to there sence.. phill4:6,7.

  Interesting, Governing Body doesn't appear in the Holy Scriptures.

  I hope you find what you're looking for. I think you're making a big mistake, but i sincerely hope you're happy in your future.
