What is Nature's most perfect food?
by compound complex ingreetings, gourmands of the forum!.
i agree with garfield, but mayo comes in a close second.
slathering my pasta with an inch of best foods real mayonnaise (hellman's, east of the rockies) is close to heaven for me.

What have been some of the funniest local needs talks that you have heard?
by DaPriest ini remember once in berlin south germany there was a local needs part for the men only, and how they should use the toilet.
in all seriousness for ten minutes a retarded nigerian was going on about how men need to sit down when using the toilet.
no mention of anything else.. it transpired that some little kraut boy from an "interested" family would aim for the side of the toilet and leave a great big puddle for others to clean up.

There was a local needs over 10 years ago about how anal and oral sex is still sex and courting couples shouldn't be doing this. Cant remember what scriptures he pulled out of his ass to tell us this. But he kept on and on about anal sex and then remembering to add oral sex (as if it was a side note and that the anal bit was the issue).
A week later my sister got married in a hotel instead of the KH. Never put the two together until years later.

Was there really a specific request for money in this week's meeting?
by stuckinarut2 ini have seen a few comments about this week's meeting.. was there actually a part that specified an actual per-publisher amount that should be donated regularly?.
can this be confirmed please?.
i truly cant believe just how brazen the society seems to be getting - and how desperate they are!.

Thanks darkspilver
I very much doubt that all this money is going in the "Global Assistance" pot. I wouldn't put it past them to be simply cashing in on a series of natural disasters.
Then again, paying off a child abuse claim could be considered an ""unexpected event” that could affect the organization".
Even keeping that £24 million in the bank would incur interest for the borg.

If You Question The Governing Body, You're Like Korah
by pale.emperor inanyone who questions the governing bodys authority is labelled as an apostate and almost always they bring up the story of korah and his revolt against moses.. watchtower august 1st, 2002, the article loyally submit to godly authority paragraphs 8-15.. https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2002563.
in not so subtle hint, the gb likens themselves to moses, and those who disagree with the gb are korah.. paragraph 15 is actually quite damaging to the gb's argument though:.
it was so unnecessary for all those people to lose their lives.

We had a body of 10 elders once cancel our regular meeting schedule and play the old Korah movie so as to fish out he baddies in the cong. Then hey created an open judicial committee, the criteria for appearing before the JC was if anyone in cong had heard anyone say any criticism against the elders . It was truly a witch hunt.
I remember reading that story Chook in one of your old posts (i went searching for it after you mentioned it before).
Truely a culty thing to do. Heaven forbid that people could express their own opinion.

I have a few PIMO JW's on my FB who say here in England they were asked for £3 each.
The Americans were asked for about $7. Can our American friends confirm this?
Dont know if this means per week/month/year or what but with 8 million JWs that would bring in about £24 million for Watchtower in just one meeting.

by pale.emperor inas you know, this week the human race has been hit with hurricanes and earthquakes.
natural disasters which happen almost everyday, but this month we've seen them cause massive damage and a huge loss of lives.. as you can imagine, theres a whole host of jws positively wetting themselves with anticipation over this.link here: https://jwtalk.net/forums/topic/25884-earthquakes-in-one-place-after-another/.

How do the foreign language Congregations find people to call on?
by UnshackleTheChains inok. i had a fascinating conversation with one of my polish colleagues at work.
she knows i'm a jdub and an activist as have filled her in warts and all about watchtower.. she came up to me today explaining how a couple of polish witnesses came to her door.
she was curious as to how they knew to call on her door knowing she was polish.

I was in the Polish group here in Liverpool. It was very successful but the CO decided to end it after about 18 months. Never did get told the reason why.
But our ministry was working in areas with a high Polish population. You'd get the odd English person or Romanian but mostly they were Poles. They tended to take the mags/books simply because they were impressed that you bothered learning Polish.

Anyone who questions the Governing Bodys authority is labelled as an apostate and almost always they bring up the story of Korah and his revolt against Moses.
Watchtower August 1st, 2002, the article Loyally Submit to Godly Authority paragraphs 8-15.
In not so subtle hint, the GB likens themselves to Moses, and those who disagree with the GB are Korah.
Paragraph 15 is actually quite damaging to the GB's argument though:
It was so unnecessary for all those people to lose their lives. If only they had reasoned matters out.
But no one is allowed to "reason matters out" with Watchtower. Try, and find yourself in the back room with arrangements being made for a JC to shut you up.
They could have asked themselves such questions as: ‘Who appeared before Pharaoh at the risk of their lives? Who demanded that the Israelites be set free? Who alone was invited to ascend Mount Horeb after Israel’s deliverance to speak face-to-face with God’s angel?’ Surely the remarkable record of Moses and Aaron gave proof of their loyalty to Jehovah and their love for the people.
Yes, in the Australian Royal Commission, who was it that turned up to face their accusers? Was it the GB? Gerrit Losch denied even being a member of Watchtower. [http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/i-do-not-answer-to-watchtower-stunning-gerrit-losch-declaration-revealed].
Jeffrey Jackson has to be dragged there, and even then only appeared by video link! They let their lawyers take the hit and even then they lied on the stand and twisted words.
Rutherford tried to curry favour with Adolf Hitler before WWII, and only when he was rebuked did he become anti Nazi. [https://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/hitler-nazi.php].
Did a single member of the GB try to intervene in Malawi when the brothers and sisters were being butchered, raped, imprisoned and tortured?
No. Their own words condemn them. They dont do, and never have done, any of those things like Moses supposedly did.
No signs. No evidence. Nothing.
As such, any person is perfectly justified in asking for the GB's credentials. Korah, apparently, had seen the credentials of Moses but rebelled anyway. How are we in any way imitating Korah when we have zero evidence for the GB's authority? -

The Key Text on JW.Org Leaves Out The Most Important Part!
by steve2 inperhaps the one scripture most often quoted by jws is matthew 24:14: "this good news of the kingdomwill be preached in all the inhabited earth and then the end will come.
" even after decades away from the kingdom hall, i can still rattle off that verse.
i daresay all 8-plus million "active" jws can also recite it, plus the untold millions who have left or become inactive across the decades.. it is among the top cornerstone texts used in jw communications.. but now there's a significant shift in the use of that text: jws often focused heavily on the part of the scripture about the end coming.

This image is forever burned into my consciousness. I had left only 2 months previously and couldn't believe they actually pulled this one. It's one more embarrassment to the Watchtower legacy.
