little kids in suits.
praying out loud at the end of the meeting. especially up on the platform. i hated it.
The thing about giving the prayer was, we're all trying to "pad out" the prater to make it sounds really good. When in reality the prayers in my head were to the point and direct.

by a split second rescuing our handicapped son from being pushed down the stairs by a flood of sisters rushing out to see as the drama had started.. the main offender being a special pioneer..
Manchester City stadium 1991. I was about 8yo. It pissed down with rain and if you were one of the silly people to have sat in the front few rows that weren't under the shelter you got soaked. And that was just in the opening song!
yes, my family had been one of the silly ones. I still remember sitting on a wet plastic chair completely soaked and my books all wet too. My mum and her sister under an umbrella.
yesterday’s watchtower talked about how by becoming a jw it enabled “worldly” people to ‘strip off the old personality’ and make really significantly good changes in their life.. paragraph named 4 individuals (anonymous names of course and probably embellished tales)) sakura, ribeiro, stephen, and hans.
their lives changed for the good because they found god or because they became jw’s---right?.
so on the way home from this wt meeting, my wife commented to me how wonderful our brotherhood is and how it helps people who would otherwise be ‘lost’ n this world.
Scientology apparently has a drug addiction course that works too. As do the Mormons. And I've heard many testimonies from Born Again Christians that tell me they recovered from drugs or pornography.
All it takes is for someone to replace their addiction for another one, or for them to hand over their thinking abilities to an organization that will tell them what to think, feel and believe.

only just noticed on the jw borg home page that matt 24:14 is quoted with a full stop instead of a comma after the word earth then the closing quotation marks.. isn't that incorrect?.
I have a suspicion that the JWs are in for some new light in a few years. Perhaps many are starting to realize that the 1914 teaching was built on sand. That maybe armageddon isnt gonna happen in their lifetime.
The convention video about 1975 stated "i remembered that i was serving Jehovah, not a date" (or words to that effect).
Next it'll probably be "paradise is an internal state". Or something like that.

I cant believe people leave the JW and actually still believe in Jesus, or God.
This is the same guy that said:

i believe that many witnesses are tired out or at least tiring out.
i know....... because i am tired out!.

I was terrified of looking up JWs on the internet. I remember i'd read a news article and get really angry inside as if was being attacked personally.
i asked the question on quora "how do jehovah's witnesses feel about the announcement that the public edition of the watchtower and awake!
magazine is being reduced to just 3 issues a year and the number of books, tracts, and online content are being discontinued?".

Were you actually expecting active JWs to put in writing how they may really feel about it? The act of writing becomes a serious filter for those living in high-control groups.
I knew they'd put a positive spin on it. I was hoping they'd give me an indication of how they personally are processing it positively. I remember when they reduced the pages of the public edition of Watchtower and Awake! and my uncle (an exJW) asked me about it before it was even announced. I told him it'll be a lie made up. Then the announcement came and i defended Watchtower saying "it'll be so much easier for interested ones to read!".
Yes, i was a mindless Watchtower drone.
But i think if i were in now even i'd have seen the writing on the wall here.
