  Lloyd Evans' New Book - Is It Really Necessary?

  so lloyd evans will shortly be releasing his new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.

  i do enjoy his rebuttals and the stuff he manages to get hold of and leak.

  but i'm struggling to understand what he could possibly write to merit a whole book.. all info on how to leave is right here on this forum.

  Londo111 totally detest some of the made up allegations his opponents have brought up with zero evidence...

  Yes that really was beyond disgusting and I don't mind saying I now have zero respect for Kim Brookes and some of The " Vast Apostate Army" crew who were the instigators of those obscene allegations.

  I dont dislike him. I dont know him as a person so i have nothing to say on that regard. He does seem to have a lot of contacts and access to stuff that we dont.
  

  How can he be making money off his activism? (apart from selling his books). Surely not enough to live on?

  So Lloyd Evans will shortly be releasing his new book How To Leave The Jehovah's Witnesses. I do enjoy his rebuttals and the stuff he manages to get hold of and leak. But I'm struggling to understand what he could possibly write to merit a whole book.

  All info on how to leave is right here on this forum. Hell, it's probably easier and better coming on here because you can ask former elders/COs and our combined experience of the methods of this cult is second to none.

  The book itself doesn't look a pamphlet, it's a proper book. I think we could sum up how to leave the JWs in just one tract. I'm in two minds whether to read it for curiosity. But I still haven't read his first book The Reluctant Apostate due to it being £23.99. The 5th edition of Crises Of Conscience was only £18 and I cant see him topping that.

  Memorial.. To go or not to go

  so, as some of you will know myself and my husband are in the process of fading.

  haven't been to a meeting since beginning of 2017. .

  we weren't planning on going to the memorial, but last week my mother broke down and said that we have to go to the memorial even if it's the only meeting i go to this year.

  As someone else has already said, turning up to the memorial is taken by the elders (and the rest of the congregation) that you "know it's the truth". Those who no longer go to meetings but turn up to the memorial are called "lukewarm" Witnesses by people in my area. Slandered behind their backs.

  I understand you might wish to go to please your mother, if i ever went to another memorial (which i wouldn't) i'd partake. And i'd make it known before hand that im going to. Then maybe mother wouldn't ask me next time.

  Transferring Congregations

  what is included in the publisher cards and other information when you transfer from one congregation to another?

  i was privately reproved and may be moving to a congregation where there are brothers i rather not know why i was privately reproved.

  is the fact i was privately reproved visible but not the reason why?

  What's included in the letter will be totally at the elders discretion. These guys arnt trained in how to write proper letters like say a HR manager or a teacher. All it would take it one incompetent elder to spill the beans on all your private details.

  In short - it depends on the elders you have. Although if i were you I'd state implicitly that you wish them not to disclose the reason for the reproof. If the matter is supposed to be settled with Jehovah then why dig it up? Ask to see the letter before it's sent.
  

  However, whatever it was, count on it that the entire body of elders will know the in's and out's of what you did - as will their wives, likely their kids and certainly the elders wives friends. I'm speaking from experience as a former elders son in law. We knew the details about Judicial Committee's, reproves, spiritual estimations of congregation members.

  a pimo in my last congregation told me that an elder has been removed from his elder position.

  apparently he grabbed another elder by the throat, put him up against a wall in the back room and punched him in on the nose... during an elders meeting on thursday evening after the meeting.. the congregation were running round like headless chickens wondering what to do?

  C'mon! every week p.e. has a new story to tell. It's a continuous soap opera of his family and old congregation that never ends.

  And on that note i'll refrain from posting.

Apparently he grabbed another elder by the throat, put him up against a wall in the back room and punched him in on the nose... DURING AN ELDERS MEETING on Thursday evening after the meeting.

  The congregation were running round like headless chickens wondering what to do? Call the police? Sweep it under the rug? Tell others? Stay silent?
  

  The elder who got a whack on the nose is a total prick though. He was on the JC when i got DF'd.

  The elder who threw the punch is also a total prick. He once gave an answer in the Watchtower which said, and i quote: "Sometimes it's reasonable to hate. I hate some people in this congregation. But that just means i love them a little less."

  The PIMO brother is friends with an elder (my ex-wifes dad) and he was told they were arguing over wether DF'd people should be made to sit in special chairs at the back.

  The elder body is collapsing from within. Excellent news.
