I think this is the closest to an admission and an apology that we're going to see.

Notice how these statements were "published"... who published them Mr Watchtower? Remind us???

I was explaining to one of my friends recently about how the Watchtower society uses it's members to make them money every day without them even realizing it. Unbelievable? Then let me explain...

Imagine you need a new Kingdom Hall. Your congregation saves and saves and finally they have the money to build a Kingdom Hall. Let's say about £90,000.

They find the land and the Watchtower society send them the approved plans on how they would like the hall to look. Then, they buy the materials and they start building.

Who does the building? - You do! Yes, it's all very jolly, encouraging and up-building but it's also hard work. Why, finally, even the sisters can do something the men do!

As this is going on, food is provided for the workers. Who buys and prepares the food? - You do!

As you're not paid workers, you're not employees - therefore if you hurt yourself in any way you're not entitled to make a claim against the Watchtower society. Oh, and the medical staff on site? Yes, they're JWs too and are there for free too (volunteers).

The Kingdom Hall is finally built. Hooray!

Then a few years later, your Governing Body tell you to merge halls with another congregation. And they sell the Kingdom Hall you built. Who gets the money? - Not you! Not your congregation who actually provided the money and did all the work and upkeep... no, it goes to the Watchtower society.

So you move into another congregation, and you're told to like it. And if you dont like it you're labelled as "causing divisions".

Remember this video from the 2018 convention?

Whether is makes sense or not, im going to support that arrangement.

There's a reason they want you to just put up and shut up and not ask questions.

Because they're fleecing you...

Creation, evolution, ???

was on the bus today and got into a discussion somehow with the driver and ok be ood his work colleagues about whether there's life in other planets, evolution and creation.

the driver believes there must be other life out there, i agree with him that life can't be unique to this planet out of the billions that exist.

his colleague who i think might be a jw by his attitude and reasoning skills thinks we're the only planet with life on it and it was made perfect and exact purposely for humans.

Or you can reject his offer, argue about the severity of a death penalty for sin, etc.

Oh I'm all for a big of girl-on-girl lust, god needs to take a look at himself.

This the same god that sanctions killing babies, stoning, slavery and child rape. I seem to have higher morals. So let it be known here and now I that i do reject his "offer".

Be his slave or burn? - sounds like quite the tyrant.

Dinosaur bones aside, if his best evidence is providing a book of fairy tales that contradict eachother then he aint no god I'd want to know.

Bumped Into One Of My Best Friends On The Carts This Morning

so this morning i'm walking to my office and there's the jws on their carts outside as usual.

and old sister, a brother in his 20s and an elder i instantly recognized from my jw days.

one of my best friends of about 20 years.. i genuinely just wanted to say hi as i havent seen him in 3 years.

Oh, and i forgot to add, the Awake! magazine he was holding was called "12 Secrets Of Successful Families".

Bumped Into One Of My Best Friends On The Carts This Morning

so this morning i'm walking to my office and there's the jws on their carts outside as usual.

and old sister, a brother in his 20s and an elder i instantly recognized from my jw days.

one of my best friends of about 20 years.. i genuinely just wanted to say hi as i havent seen him in 3 years.

So this morning I'm walking to my office and there's the JWs on their carts outside as usual. And old sister, a brother in his 20s and an elder I instantly recognized from my JW days. One of my best friends of about 20 years.

I genuinely just wanted to say hi as I havent seen him in 3 years. Walked up, he saw me coming and his posture shifted. I said his name with a smile and stuck out my hand and asked how he was. He kept his hands by his side and said "I cant talk to you". I said "cummon, lets leave religion aside for a sec, I just want to say hi". He then said "come here a second..." and took me aside away from the cart.

What followed surprised even me. He was always the elder I pointed to when I wanted people to know what elders should be like. He was always warm, approachable, friendly and kind - today he was the opposite.

"There's only one way back isnt there? And you know it's the truth!"

Nothing more infuriating for me to hear that last sentence. I replied "no it isnt. Anyway, how are you?"

"You've destroyed your family and upset a lot of people - how do you feel about that?"

Me: "No, my ex-wife and I and her partner are all good friends. My daughter is happy and healthy and lives with me."

"No. I mean your real family. Your mum and brothers and sisters in the truth".

Me: Real family? I haven't heard from them in three years.

"And who's fault's that?"

Me: Well, the Watchtower society obviously. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi. You know I love you right? Do you guys still do door knocking?

"Of course we do!"

Me: I haven't had a knock in 3 years, and i've moved twice.

"Come back to Jehovah and fix your life"

Me: It is fixed. My life is actually perfect right now. I have real friends, real family and no reason to shun anybody.

I stuck my hand out again, he refused it. I was raging inside but tried to stay calm.

I ended it with "cummon I'm just being friendly. Who's being christlike here?"

And with that I walked away.

Such a shame what the cult has turned him into. It was like a whole other person. But you just know he's gonna put on his smiley cheerfull front to everyone else as soon as im gone.

Watchtower really does train them to put on the "new personality" after all.

so i got my results in on sunday and my bloodline is mostly from great britain and italy and greece!

not what i expected at all but it does explain my love of italian and greek foods.😎.

Im tempted to do mine. I traced my tree back to the 1680s but that took about 15 years! It's nice to get messages from people i'm distantly related to who's tree's overlap.

i guess you can be physically out, like in a huge way, but definitely mentally in.. serena williams claims she won't be celebrating her daughter's first birthday.. i did know people like that, raised as a jw but never actually baptizing.

that didn't mean they were not messed up in the head though..

I cant believe how backward that is. Thinking Jehovah is ok with her having a baby before marriage, but loses his shit over a birthday celebration.

Wonder how many JDubs will lap this up regardless?

Since waking up from this cult I find it highly ironic that there's a Jehovah's Witness magazine called Awake!

Eldub BIL, and Df'ed Kid's!!!!

my super fine eldub bil, has a son that's been df'ed for a long time.

last month he deeded off 1/4 of an acre of land in the back of his pasture, bought a small local built used tiny house, and got it all set up, for his son to live in.

to everyone of the jw's in this area really look up to him and his stand on having nothing to do with his df'ed kid's or grandkids.

This is actually good news. Hopefully he'll wake up rather than being a hypocrite though.
