  My friends son just got disfellowshipped ?

  one of my very few jw friend rings ( he knows i’m an apostate ) and has chat about life, then he said i would be sad to here that his son has been df , my response was it’s the best news i’ve heard all day.

  his family are first generation jw of about 30 years in org.

  but the scales are falling as we speak, i use my most genuine persuasive arguments over months, his wife loved coconscience.

  i’m sure we all remember those really weird, awkward magazines we were expected to place in service.

  and it was before we are had the website or the thing on the back to fall back on.

  imagine being a 12 year old girl, and having to place magazines on god’s view of pornography, sex, homosexuality.

  The pornography one instantly sprung to mind when I read this. Just shows how out of touch with reality the Watchtower writers are. All of my girlfriends since leaving the cult either enjoy pornography too or couldn't care less if I have it.

  Notice how lovely and multicultural and gender equal the room is. There's even a stereotypical chinaman in the background there next to the naughty man smoking a cigarette. (Even though smoking indoors, especially on government property, is banned in most countries).
  

  Samuel Herd, how up yourself must you be if you really think that all these countries are going to have YOU on the TV screen as someone worthy of interest?

  Even if they were trying to get you, the first thing they'd do is take down your broadcasting channel.
  

  8 million JWs? How many are even active? How many are PIMO? I reckon the number of true believers is more like 5-6 million.

  Russia=King of the North, USA=King of the South? New info coming in from Annual Meeting 2018

  it was announced in this year’s annual meeting that they believe that the king of the north is russia and the king of the south is us/britain.

  for me this is the first time hearing from the society actually identifying the identity of the king of the north.

  very interesting times!

  Asked the question on Quora and a JW elder has assured me that the society wont speculate.

  I think you are misinformed. There are still questions over the identity. We just had a convention. One symposium was on what we do and do not know.

  Some people speculate it could be a “revived” Russia, some consider it could be China. The Society won’t speculate. We do not know. We have to wait and see.

  You watch, in 40 years they'll blame all this on the rank and file and there'll be a Watchtower video set in 2018 where they say:

  "At that time, some were looking to Russia as King of the North. I'll admit, I was eager to see the end of this system. But i remember what I'd learned in our publications "not to make speculation about types and anti-types"".

  Will Jehovah’s Witness be discouraged from watching any tv at all soon?

  i know it sounds kinda stupid and dramatic, but lately there’s been a lot of suggestive content about not watching tv.

  the broadcast was telling people that watching tv snares you into getting an attachment to characters, (the one where the crazy sister prayed for a tv character).

  and today this watchtower telling people that the only news that should be watching, or even interested in watching is the broadcast or on jw.org news room.

  'It was mentioned in the DC that time for preaching the good news is over. Now it is time for preparing to watch the destruction."

  The preaching of the "judgement message" is the final act for JWs. Even if they do end up doing this, something tells me that this preaching of the "judgement message" will go on for decades or even another century. It'll actually be a self fulfilling prophecy for them. It'll make them just like the Westboro Baptist Church which will ensure that they really are universal hated... which is exactly what Watchtower wants.

  So let me get this straight... they're scrapping the simplified mags and making the regular mags simpler with big letters?

  So in reality they've just scrapped the normal mags and made everyone read the dumbed down version.

  They sure are going out of their way to keep the rank and file stupid and spoon fed. This would have been infuriating for me when I was in, I was a deep studier.
