  so yesterday evening i get an invite through facebook fro a name that was familiar, but i couldn’t place the face.

  after clicking on the page i saw a close-up pic to realize it was a friend of mine from 15 years ago at bethel.. when this guy arrived at bethel he was big time.

  he was in early 20’s and had given up a job as an engineer at what was one of the largest electronics companies in the world.

  2nd Pedo In My Old Congregation Has Been Discovered

  i learned today that a "brother" from my former congregation has been arrested.. the rumor mill was in overdrive (you know how the jws are), my ex-wife and a pimo member filed me in just an hour ago.

  both gave 95% the exact details so i take it as legit.... when i used to do sound desk there was a brother in his late 40s/early 50s who for some reason always had a tan and always sat at the back of the hall.

  he was a loner, i used to feel sorry for him so would make small talk while i was setting up the sound desk and he was sitting there.

(Im very tempted to mention his name but i wont, but this is in Liverpool, England).

  From what i remember he was quite friendly with an old couple that had adopted their 13yo granddaughter and 8yo grandson. Always got a lift to the meetings with them, lift to the conventions etc. Well it turns out that he went into hospital last week for some tests, stayed there a few nights. He called Brother so-and-so (the grandfather) and asked if he'd go into his flat to feed and walk his dog. The brother is happy to. Next thing you know he's called the police after he found some "items" in his flat involving the13yo girl. Im not sure exactly what all of the items were yet, but both my sources tell me he found a letter, some adult photos that had had the girls head photoshopped on top.

  The girl is in bits terribly ashamed and has told her grandparents that he buys her things and they share secrets.

  I'll update the more i hear but this is the 2nd pedo in that congregation since i left just 2 years ago.

  i find it almost too difficult to bear.

  my mother now in her 80's does not miss up on an opportunity to preach.

  in fact most of the time the opportunity does not exist but she mentions something anyway.. she is so blind it's embarrassing.

  My mum is 60... not that old really, but she is exactly the type of person who'd swallow a pill if the GB dished them out and told her they're from God. To be fair, she grew up in foster homes and found "the truth" when she was 15 and it basically became her family. She'll never leave.

  She also see's nothing wrong with preaching to grieving families in hospitals about the resurrection and "they're sure to get one because they died before Armageddon". She's perfectly at ease standing at a JW cart right next to a homeless person asking for spare change or food and has JW Broadcasting on literally every waking moment.

  I think these people are better off in the cult. The real world would eat them alive and she seems genuinely content. It's just a shame that one son is dead to her (me) and she has no pension or savings to rely on when she retires this year.

  A Little Direction Please

  i'm an active elder, cobe, just got home from the meeting where i handled the treasures part and concluded by announcing a friend of mine has been d/f,.....blah blah blah...and over the last year have woken up.

  i simply cannot spill my guts to my wife and children as it would be family suicide.

  i have zero desire to bash, spread my feelings, or become an "apostate".

  I would drop little comments while we were doing the dishes or something. Like:
  

  "Have you noticed, it's impossible to leave this religion with your reputation in tact?"

  "If it came down to it, i dont think unbaptized children should have to refuse blood. They're not witnesses."

  It doesn't have to lead to a full blown discussion. It's something that your wife will no doubt think about throughout the day.

  I'd also encourage her to make friends with non JW neighbors... slowly, slowly.
  

  My wife and i are now separated but that's another story. She's secretly awake now but cant leave due to her living with her elder dad and family.

  How many watchtowers do the witnesses receive each year?

  my question is how many watchtower and awake magazines do the witnesses receive thru the year?

  my mother and i stop going about 30 years ago, my sister does attend still, and she says that they will receive 3 watchtowers and 3 awakes a year.

  is that true?

  My parents had a huge stack of them piled up in the laundry room.

  Everyone had a stack of magazines. The Watchtower promoted the fact that the printed millions of magazines every week - they attempted to create the image that the magazines were the most widely read magazines in the world. However, most of these magazines went no further than the proverbial stacks found in each publisher's home. This is a classic description of a fraud scheme called "channel stuffing."

  I remember this. As a kid my parents had, literally, cupboards full of Watchtower and Awake magazines going back like 15 years. They'd be an apostates wet dream to get hold of nowadays.

  I myself when i left home had shelves in the shed full of magazines. Somehow it seem disrespectful or sacrilegious to throw them away.

  i threw some cloths on and headed to first “morning worship.” gilbert said i could sit on his table since there was an extra space there.

  Facing My Mortality And Becoming A Donor

  this thread is quite morbid so i apologize in advance.. a few days ago i was having a conversation with my girlfriend in which she mentioned in passing that she's signed up to donate her organs after her death.

  i was quite surprised because she mentioned it like it was no big deal.

  i asked her which organs.

I was quite surprised because she mentioned it like it was no big deal. I asked her which organs. She said "everything". Heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, corneas, marrow, skin.

  Then it hit me... i thought i'd faced my own mortality and wasn't bothered by it. But then i really started to think about it. One day i wont be here. My body will still be there, but it wont be me. Life will go on, people will still wake up and go to work, go the pub, marry, haves kids etc but i wont be around.

  Then i started to think "should i donate my organs too?". I'd have no need for them. It wouldn't make sense to cremate my entire body if organs can be used to improve or save lives. I read online that a single person is capable of improving the lives of 50 people. 50! So i decided i'd do it. I've signed up.

  The more i think about it, for me personally, there's no reason not to. My parents often joked that i was "an accident" - so if you think about it i wasn't supposed to be born in the first place. If any good can come of my eventual death i'd like to to be saving the life of another person.

  Granted, It's not nice thinking about it. But i'm glad the subject came up and forced me to think of it.

  have any of you heard some theories from jws that are not based on scripture?

  i have, in the past few days, heard a couple that have me shaking my head.. first one is that since satan was around during the creation period and probably watched on as things were being made, it is possible that he is responsible for the creation of some of the more hideous and nasty creatures that live among us.

  surely god wouldn't make horrible things.. second one is that satan already had a bad attitude before the creation of adam and eve and was collecting followers among the other angels early on and stirring trouble.

  How about the theory that Satan and his demons listen in to your conversations and remember things that you're afraid of or doubting about.

  Or the one that demons like to live in 2nd hand vases and your dads old shirt?

  born in 1955 jacko was baptized at 13 years of age in 1968.his life story, printed in the august 2015 watchtower doesn't state the year in which he married, it's fairly general when talking about it.

  hmmm, i wonder why?i've come across a recording of an interview with jacko at a hall dedication in another part of the us in 2009 which provides some further information.he married his first wife, jenny, in 1974 at the grand old age of 19. no wonder they didn't want to print it in the watchtower.unfortunately his first wife, jenny, was diagnosed with cancer in 1999.in 2003 jacko was sent a letter from the gb stating he was being transferred to hq and his wife would be given appropriate work.

  he initially didn't know why they were being called to hq as he felt they were being very productive in their fijian paradise, he states that they brought 75 people into the truth.

  Which poses another question... if your husband goes to heaven, can you remarry in the new world?

  I wonder if Jeffrey Jackson was just a normal MS in the KH, would she have looked at him twice? Who knows.
