It's hard being bisexual and being a jw

i've been bi for a long time but i know it's wrong if you want to be a jw... .

Your sexuality and feelings are absolutely normal. Christianity has it's roots in Judaism, which started as a desert tribe made up of men dominating women... how coincidental that their God just so happens to be ok with men marrying many women, invading other lands and forcibly taking their women, and death to anyone that would jeopardize that.

Your beliefs are also yours alone, and not to dictated to you and monitored by any organization. Please read up on JWFacts.com and learn the many things this religion has taught and tried to cover up. You'll be glad you did.

Don't you find it strange that the God of the bible would be ok with slavery, rape, genocide, infanticide, and testing imperfect humans but he's so bothered about who we fall in love with or who we have sex with? Humans that he created for no other purpose than to worship him?

I look forward to your future posts. Nobody on here will ever reject you for who you care for.

Bought My First Christmas Tree Last Night

last year i didn't bother with christmas as it still felt like a "nothing" day to me (thanks watchtower!).

this is the 2nd christmas since waking up and leaving the cult and i've finally bought my first christmas tree:).

i have no idea what to do with it though.

I told my friend I got a Christmas tree. He asked, 'Did you out it up yourself?' I told him, 'No. I put it in the room.'...................................crickets and tumbleweed...........

LMAO!!

My girlfriend and her little girl are gonna help put it up with us. Then we're going to their home to do it all over again with their tree.

I keep asking my little one what she's going to ask Santa for? So far she only wants a flower! Obviously im going to give her more than a flower but isnt that sweet? Im just dreading when she's 16 and wants a Playstation 7 or whatever they'll have by the point.

Questioning the leaders of the religion he was born into

Calling those leaders "vipers", "sons of the devil" and "Hypocrites"

He had a beard

He didn't wear a suit

He got kissed by a man in a garden at night

He stepped in to save a prostitute from judgement of the religious leaders

He spoke to a woman at a well in a secluded area alone with no chaperone

Jesus would be called to JC, and if he didnt turn up would be DF'd in abstencia

Bought My First Christmas Tree Last Night

I have no idea what to do with it though. How to decorate it. When to put it up. Where to put it? But i suppose that's part of the fun right? I'll enjoy the time spent with my little girl putting it up and decorating it together. She's 3 and is excited for Christmas although she doesn't really know what it entails... just that Father Christmas brings toys if you're good. In fact, we're going to see Father Christmas tomorrow;)

It's so nice to finally celebrate this festival. And i dont have to look over my shoulder in shops when i get Christmassy things.

a new book has just been published called the oxford handbook of the bible in america.

in it is an article by michael gilmour, professor of new testament at (the evangelical) providence university college in manitoba, canada, on jws and the nwt.

that's chapter 41. but that is not the only time jws are brought up.

Gutjahr ought to get his facts right, Jehovah's Witnesses did not exist in the 1920s and therefore could not have "invented" Bible paper. There is a faint possibility that it was a Bible Student who was also a paper technician who developed Bible paper according to the demands of external publishers. Did the Watchtower Society even print Bibles back in that decade? I don't think they did.

Well spotted Half banana. Bible Students and even JWs didn't have an agreed upon bible until the New World Bastardization was published.

Finally some concrete usefulness from the silver sword, the light gets brighter and brighter with each drag!

It actually gives you a slight sore throat. I think it's the ink. But the paper burns fine. The first one i lit up was Psalms 83:18. That was a good smoke.

i have thought long and hard about this, you know in those midnight hours.. you will probably string me alive in what i say, but here you go-.

i feel that the jw's do have the truth.

i do agree with the doctrines and biblical exgenesis they propound.i do feel that they have the 'truth' i do understand they are imperfect, and i think they have had to 'refine' their teachings as time has gone on-and change accordingly- i see nothing wrong with this.

Then theres nothing to discuss.

You agree with shunning those who merely disagree with the Governing Body.

You agree with shunning ex-members no matter what the reason they left or were disfellowshipped.

You agree with slavery seeing as the bible has never condemned this barbaric practice.

You agree with the subjugation of women.

You agree that of all the people on all the earth, THIS man is one of seven personally chosen by God almighty to lead 8 million people:

You do understand that in another 10 years what they're teaching now will most likely not be considered "the truth™" and will be old light right?

Seriously, you do what you want. But you cant have read Crises Of Conscience and still be thinking they have "the truth™"???

Since when did God need to trickle information down to his people?

P.S. I openly blaspheme that impotent god Jehovah on a daily basis. So far no harm has come to me... why, it's almost as if he doesn't exist.

Pale.Emperor Meets The Mormons

when i was a jw i was fascinated with the mormon religion.

i never believed a word of it of course, but i was interested in their religion like most boys were interested in star wars.

i’ve read the book of mormon, doctrine & covenants, pearl of great price, book of abraham, watched their videos, read critical books by ex mormons etc etc… (strange at the time that i never did this with my own religion!

In fact - the more I look at Mormon material , the more it looks like the Society have copied their methods for their publications and JW.Org videos ( albeit the WTBTS isn't as professional as the LDS. ) The similarities are almost uncanny at times.

Im absolutely convinced they've copied many of their things over the last few years.

Family worship?

Choir?

Livestream sermons?

Even the overhaul of their website to produce JW.borg

You watch. Next they'll bring in tithing.

Deceptive comments or lies that you have heard from platform or brothers & sisters?

ok, so what are the most deceptive comments that you have heard from your experience in congregations?.

my top three are;.

1) service overseer during the ’ how did we do?’ annual talk, twisted the figures to such an extent that it looked like the congregations ministry was in tip-top shape.

Why did they have to stop their book Studies? Must be more to it.
IMHO it was to stop unsupervised socialising among the dubbies. Lots of negs surfacing over the last few years, too easy for an exchange of doubts at such get-togethers.

I think it was to curtail people starting their own little study groups.

I can speak of one example i personally know about. My uncle was single and so he and other single brothers arranged their own little study group round his house every week with pizza and other snacks. The brothers really wanted to delve into the deeper things of God and give good answers for the Sunday meetings etc. and so used outside resources like bible encyclopedias, Wikipedia, Biblegateway.com to compare over 150 different bible translations etc.

Other groups popped up after his one for the sisters. Then things like this were happening in more places. The CO went nuts and put a stop to it. It must have been happening on a global scale because next thing you know Bethel makes independent study groups "a sin". Imagine... studying the bible outside of the Watchtower magazines is a sin!
