Hmm... it almost sounds like a cult doesn't it?
Following you around? Taking photographic evidence to convict you? Elders in a backroom confronting a young woman?
Have a think. Which person in the picture below is imitating Jesus?
hey, i would like to share my experience, it is kind of long but i really appreciate whoever reads.
last year i was a devout pioneer sister.
well, i am naturally an imperfect 20 year old women.

oh, deary me........this is quite a sad story.. make of it what you will..
why would the dubs call in a gang of 5
i think it's most likely that 2 called on the door and the rest came to intervene when the fatty went nuts on them.
It was rare that we seen angry or violent people when witnessing but it's bound to happen from time to time. I do feel for them here.
ok guys and gals.. let's have them.
as horrible as this may be i really want to see a few examples.
all my life i was taught that apostates just spread lies and falsehoods.. yet since i have left the organisation and looked deeply into apostate articles.
I used to hear that "JWs have a secret Satanic black mass ritual" which I later discovered they meant the memorial. To evangelical Christians I suppose they could misinterpret them passing the emblems and not partaking as "rejecting" the body and blood of Christ.
It's a bit far to call it a black mass tho.
i am just 17. many of you here are much older than me.. i do feel that offering advice here is like teaching my father how to fuck.
but seriously, i do see the problem here.
we are focusing more on the problem than the solution.. i have been reading mind power books for quite some time.
Damn, i wish i woke up at 17.
jws often point to this, to show outsiders they are allowed to read the bible on their own without the publications.
although, as we know, the org still teaches that you will never progress along the road to life without the pubs.
and, i would imagine that what they learn/conclude from their own bible reading, must remain within the confines of current wt teaching, even on the most minute points of doctrine.
I used to read the bible daily without the Watchtower to hand. I remember that i could not for the life of me read Paul's epistles and come to the conclusion that all Christians weren't going to heaven. I had to constantly dig out Watchtowers and WT books to convince me that he was talking only to a select group in those letters.
greetings, fellow lexophiles:.
last night, i watched a cool road movie, the trip, with steve coogan and rob brydon.
they were counseled by steve's dad to take an "anticlockwise" route home, rather than the clockwise one steve had proposed.
I think other languages have better words than English for certain things.
We use the words "full stop" rather than "period" for the little dot at the end of a sentence. I think us Brits have the better term than the Americans on that one. But I do prefer the American pronunciation for evolution, here it's generally pronounced "evil-ution".
I think the German nein is much better than our "no".
I like the French word parlais (speak) and think it's a beautiful word.
hi - first some context - i have been pimo for about 20 years now and so have been to a lot of assemblies in that time.
last weekend i went to a circuit assembly and for the first time afterwards i was able to talk directly to someone who knows i'm out.
i realised then that although i didn't agree with any teachings (i sat picking holes in the arguements as usual) the experience of being there had affected me - the way of life started feeling normal as did the overall way of viewing the world.
Whenever i find something of theirs to be persuasive i stop and remind myself that this religion requires a lot of mental arithmetic, date shifting, downplaying failed predictions, adding to scripture and covering up child abuse.
Any religion that requires all that cant be true.
Plus, if it were true, it should be churning out happy people left right and center who go on to do wonderful things for their community and their fellowman but instead it takes in people looking for answers, uses them, chews them up and spits them out.
hello everyone, i have an on and off again ex who is a jw.
each time her family gets involved and she's gone again.
i'm debating biting the bullet and doing the work to become baptized, so we can follow through with our engagement.
Getting baptised is not a minor formality to progress your relationship. Once you are baptised your life is no longer your own.
My advice is - do not get baptised under any circumstances.
Good advice.
Obviously her family are giving her a hard time about you even though it's none of their business. Sounds to me like she is used to being controlled and told what to do. You both are old enough and mature enough to have your own kid each, so she should be old enough and mature enough to live her own life on her own terms.
If it were me i wouldn't be standing for this shit, make her an ultimatum. Either you're together or you're not. If she wants to let her family control her relationships then let her leave and you find yourself someone stronger.
If you got baptized you're handing your control and your balls over to her family AND the Watchtower Society. Baptism in this religion isnt like any other religion were you can walk away later without reprisals.
And think of your kid. Your kid will be expected to live in that mental prison too.
i remember an elder questioning a woman who had admitted to giving and receiving oral sex from her unbelieving mate.
he asked her the most intimate questions which clearly flustered her.
interestingly, she “confessed “ to the elders because her conscience bothered her.
I used to love hearing demon stories. One of my ex-gf's dad claimed that he knocked on an occultists home and when the man put his hand out to accept the magazine, chains suddenly appeared on his wrists and pulled his arm back.
Bull - shit!
