i've recently watched the jw cartoons centered around teaching young kids the doctrines of this faith.
while i no longer practice any faith, i am well versed in this one.
i must say, these cartoons are in bad, bad taste.
Welcome FinalFlame. Interesting reasonings, but JWs (and other bible thumping zealots) would claim that homosexual love is not really love but an abomination.
Its much easier to take a step back, look at the universe and human nature and say "Yh, there probably is no God" and just love who you love and be nice to people.
Taking the bible and watering down its gay bashing, misogynistic, slavery condoning genocidal, rape approving, infantcidal message is just pointless.
i remember that some years ago there was a message with information about watchtower, was owner of home depot, and sold it.. question: was this true?

I've heard a few JWs claim they're the fastest growing religion. That can't be true surely? The videos they're making would drive away even the most deluded person. And as for the things they're teaching now...

2) How can we fulfill the law of Christ when unseen by humans? Don't look at porn. Watching porn starts by viewing swimwear ads. Those ads pop up when a person surfs the channels on their TV or the internet. So don't surf channels or the net as that is the first step.
Wow, straight to the porn. No mention of smoking, drugs or alcohol? I guess porn is still a persistent problem in the religion. Not surprising seeing as they've banned even masturbation.
Song and Announcement(s) Just one announcement. Jehovah loves a cheerful giver. There are boxes for you to put your contribution in. Make checks out to Jehovah's Witnesses and if you don't want to write a check there are two convenient ATM/Credit card machines you can use.
My grandfather would be turning in his grave. Credit card machines in "Gods house"? It's become a televangelist drive like Peter Popoff or Benny Hinn.
4) What makes the law of Christ superior to the Mosaic law? There were over 600 law in the law of Moses. Christ law is better because it is much more comprehensive, covering EVERY aspect of our lives. Christ's law is all principles. Remember like a traffic light, laws are red and that means STOP! Principles are yellow, that mean you have to think. (Then stop. I guess they never heard of a GREEN light! I'd hate to be behind these nitwits if they were driving)
And yet the Watchtower society have added even more laws upon those laws - exactly what the Pharisee's were condemned for by Jesus.

Experiences: Some young female bragged about pioneering right out of high school because she had the "perfect" circumstances. She only worked part time one day a week, and lived at home with her parents. She had a hard struggle to keep pioneering as the years went by, but by only working that one day a week, still living at home, and now DEPENDING ON HER HUSBAND and praying she was able to keep pioneering. (What a leech!)
What a leech indeed. Working one day a week? If she lived in any other country she'd have starved to death long ago.
And the "conductor" spouting off how witnesses have happy lives, happy marriages, happy...happy...happy.
The bottles of Valium in my mothers medical cabinet suggest otherwise. As do the cabinets of many, many JWs who've been in for a long period of time.
6) How can you fulfill the law of Christ at school? School is full of pressure from wicked people. They will pressure you to follow Satan by dating, playing school sports, or by experimenting with homosexual sex. Don't text pictures of yourself in a swimming suit to a boy who sent you a selfie taken at a gym.

The "branch" big-wig gave an experience about a flood in Texas (USA) where an entire street of homes were totally demolished. One elderly JDub widow had her home completely gutted and restored even better than new. They even added an extra room.
In case anyone wasn't aware, JW's DO help in cases of natural disasters... they just dont help non JWs. And even if they do it's not materially, just spiritually. Even the dog got a roof over it's head. They obviously have never read Jesus parable of the Good Samaritan.

Few things here. First of all, they're doing exactly what the Mormons did back in the 90s. I used to see adverts on TV inviting us to call for a free DVD or Book of Mormon. Seems they're that desperate for converts now.
Secondly, is it just me or has the society been featuring primarily non-white actors now? The Remember The Wife Of Lot video focused on an Asian family, this video features all but Caucasian members, and lately the literature is featuring a lot of Asian people.
Don't get me wrong, it's all good they're mixing it up - but it looks deliberate to me. Could it be that they're focusing on minority groups or immigrants now?
there are over 8 million jdubs and i would venture a guess that at least 20% to 30% are pimo.
in my opinion, the kingdom hauls are only half full for two reasons....many have left but the majority are pimo and any little excuse will keep them home and they will report their token ghost hours in service.
all it takes to stay home is being tired, too much school homework or i will go next week, no doubt many have taken part-time jobs and the fear of working the second shift and the guilt of missing meetings is gone.
I think they're planning some new shite light that will cause a stir. But it will be accepted as "wonderful" by the drones. What it is i don't know.

It's a shame. Since leaving i've lived so much more in just 2 years than i ever did in 31 years!
in 1991 we build a 250 seat hall and had 125 publishers so about 175 in attendance and filing fast.. just spoke to someone from my old congregation they now have 50 to 60 publishers and 100 in attendance on a good day.. very few pioneers.. seems this is happening everywhere.. karter..
SBF I think if t they reversed the shunning policy and completely dropped the the blood ban it would give a little increase and they'd be back to the norm in a couple of years
I dont see that ever happening. The blood policy sets them out as "unique" and the shunning policy keeps them controlled with fear and guilt.
A cult needs fear and guilt to keep control. Just ask any of the Hateful 8 in In Warwick.

it struck me today how the lyrics to kingdom song 81 "the life of a pioneer" sound almost like a slave song from a plantation or something.
what's also sad is, if you read, you'll notice that they sound not only like slaves, but slaves that are admittedly tired and worn out yet grateful to serve their governing body overseers master to prove their devotion to him.. very sad indeed..
