  hi guys.. as some of you may be aware, i'm currently studying in uni part time training to become a therapist and councilor for ex-cult victims.

  my goal is to be the vest best therapist i can be, specifically for ex-witnesses (because i can relate completely), and i plan to incorporate hypnotherapy in my therapy sessions.. i have already trained in hypnosis, however i'm not trained in hypnosis for therapy.

  nor am i licensed to practice it in therapeutic work.. i'm hoping you can help me to change that.

  The conventional course I'm studying already is Psychology With Councelling at the Open University. That's a 6 year course which is currently being funded by my student loan. So all kosher and above board.

  I believe if I went on to do my masters, I'd be studying CBT too. My ex-girlfriend did her masters in Psychology at Chester University and she was fully educated in that.

  This hypnotherapy course isn't funded due to it being a private educational school. I was interviewed by the tutors only yesterday (they dont let just anybody on the course due to it being quite intense). https://cphtliverpool.co.uk/

  First of all, know that there's hundreds of ex-JWs on here reading your post all rooting for you and wishing we could physically help you as well as emotionally. If you lived anywhere near any of us we'd take you in in a heartbeat - seriously.

  The situation you present is unfortunately not uncommon. Congrats to you for seeing the religion for what it is at this stage, some of us wake up at 60 years old or even older and we see how much of our lives we've wasted.

  The only advice I can give is definitely post here more. Share you feelings, your progress, ask questions, ask for help. Definitely do YouTube videos. Other people need to know what this religion does to people and it's quite therapeutic getting things off your chest and sharing your journey with millions of people.

  No one here is going to think bad that you went back to your parents and the meetings. We get it. We know the pressure you're under. How old are you again? If i were you I'd be super nice to your parents, the perfect daughter - but stand your ground when it comes to your beliefs. You don't have to argue about it or make a big deal of it, but simply present what you believe as facts. Facts can never be dis proven. Facts have nothing to fear from lies or dishonesty. I'd even answer up contradicting the Watchtowers theology. As long as you present an answer from the bible how could they disagree?

  But for all that, well done. We care about you and hope to read from you more often. Let us know if you do YouTube videos we'll all follow you.

  Pepperoni is where it's at. No other toppings are needed as far as im concerned. The best pizza's are in authentic Italian restraunts though, not from a "Hut" or delivery service.

  Sex before marriage

  what is your opinion regarding sex before marriage, has your view been influenced since you left?

  in western society, you’ll probably find yourself ridiculed to be an 18 year old virgin so i am curious to hear opinions from here.

  I have more sex now as a single male than I ever did in my JW marriage!

  Did the Watchowerism fuck with my mind after leaving? Yes! It was hard to shake the feeling that i was doing something "wrong" even though I became an atheist and see marriage as basically a modern day sale/contract.

  I'm hoping you can help me to change that. There is a course starting in March 2019 which will last until October 2019 which will train me to be a fully qualified, fully licensed hypnotherapist. With these skills under my belt, coupled with the training I'll receive from my University course, I'll be able to treat anxiety, depression, low self esteem, suicidal tendencies, self harm, traumatic memories and other types of abuse we're all familiar with.

  Watchtower won't beat us. I plan to offer my services to ex-Witnesses for free. Without funding help it'd be impossible for me to fund this course myself - in fact it'd mean waiting another 6 years and then starting it, by which point many ex-members will have come out and go into therapy with therapists who just arnt familiar with what it's like being an ex-witness.

  How were God’s true worshipers to determine virginity of pagan girls?

  in the genocidal instructions supposedly given by god we find this interesting command: “now kill all the boys.

  and kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.” (numbers 31:17, 18).

  in the midst of killing and plundering, how were the israelites to determine whether each girl “has slept with a man” or not?.

  Dueteronomy 22:15-17 indicates a "test". If your bride didn't bleed afterwards then she wasn't a virgin.

  Its likely that in this case if the girl that was raped by the Israelite didn't bleed then she'd be killed.

  a flood of evidence has come in that people are outsourcing their thinking to their electronic devices.

  when you feel you will always be able to look up important information on your cell phone you simply don't remember it.

  At the end of the day, it takes the JW to become fed up or angry at the elders or something in the congregation to jolt them out of it for a split moment. It's at this moment where they may look at this site of JWFact.com.

  When I was in I had an answer for everything to protect the Watchtower and my own sanity.

  Here is a little more research on the incident in historical context.

  Perry, that whole artical is worse than I thought. Women being forced into marriage to make alliances? Was the girls permission or will even considered? Oh but god is "so kind" to put them into a harem (translation: sex slave). How can and all knowing, all wise, all loving, all kind deity have the brain sense of a bronze age man?
