by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara ini was a thriving regular pioneer, doing all thr things wholeheartedly, had 16 bible studies, 7 attending meetings regularly, 11 magazine routes and 100's of rv's.
you can imagine i was always runnin out of literature and always a good list of books to order every month.
(not bragging, just stating facts.all this is wasted anyway).

Faders Needing a Great One Liner
by Solzhenitsyn inso our family fade is well under way.
we changed congregations as regular attenders and left in good standing with those giving hugs and kisses simply knowing we "needed a change".
we moved to a neighboring congregation that is out of our original region knowing we would see no one and the two boe's wouldn't really have immediate dealings.

woah, woah, woah. First of all...
lots of debauched teens and single moms that dress like whores that keep them incredibly busy
Which cong is this again? I may pay a visit.
As for the one liner, how about "I heard some apostate teaching about an overlapping generation or something? This contradicts the religion I was baptized into."

It's not hard to fudge the numbers of preaching hours in the stats. All you have to do is let them start reporting even increments of 15mins - those 15mins all add up you know.
Then let them count preaching hours PER PERSON even if they're just standing next to a literature stand.
Oh... wait...

The gullibility has no bounds with these people
by nowwhat? intalking to a couple old friends and like many are not too pleased with the k.h.
selloffs and being squeezed into another hall.
" oh well the organization needs the funds to build all the k.h's in africa where all the growth is".

I sometimes get "well, what can YOU offer that's better than what we hope for?"
As if im supposed to give them a new belief system... and tell them what to believe.

Reminiscing about the Manchester JW Scene
by Farmer Jim1 ini’m sure like many of you that use this forum i sometimes think back over the years as a jw and recall the funny, the strange and then the downright bizarre things that happened within the organisation.
i grew up and settled in a densely jw populated area of manchester which was filled with the usual jw drama and nonsense.. if you were from the area and have any memories or stories please post them here.. one of the things i clearly recall (and i’m sure this wasn’t just a manchester jw thing) was the massive drinking culture within the jw community.
i didn’t really pick up on it until i started questioning things but looking back i can remember my parents taking about an elder in the hall that drank a can of beer before going to the thursday meeting.

Every ex-Bethelite i've spoken to have all confirmed the huge drinking culture at Bethel. I suppose you'd need it living there with your roommate wanting to sit on your lap and your pillows going missing. -

Should I be with someone who's had lots of pervious partners?
by Jxvi inthanks for reading (i'm sorry this is a little bit of a sensitive topic, though i'll try to be gentle.).
a little back story.
i have been working so hard to build my faith this year, and i am finally at the point where i am beginning to trust god and i want to build an unbreakable relationship with him.

Look mate, having “lots” of partners doesn’t = not respecting oneself. People enjoy sex, some more than others. It wouldn’t bother me one bit if my gf had been with hundreds before me. It’s not really anything to do with you.
what matters is right now. If she actually wants to have sex with you that’s a good thing, it means she’s into you. Have her previous partners been “just sex”? Probably. But again in the real world there’s nothing wrong with that.
You think you got problems now just wait until you become a JW and you’ll be required to ask the elders if you can or can’t do this or that position (I’m not joking).

Do you celebrate Christmas?
by LovingLifeNow indo you celebrate and how long have you been out?
.
3 years for me and yes i do..
-
pale.emperor
I celebrate Saturnalia. Exact same thing. Only my daughter calls it Christmas. It's also a good comeback when smug JWs tell me I celebrate a pagan festival. My reply is "Yes. I openly celebrate Saturnalia. My ancestors celebrated this festival thousands of years ago. You know as well as I, Christmas has nothing to do with christianity".

There was an occasion where a pub in central Manchester had put a sign up saying ‘no Jehovah’s Witnesses allowed entry’ during convention time at the Manchester Arena. I think this was linked to a booze-fuelled fight between two or more witnesses immediately after the Saturday convention session. (Would love to hear more about this story if anyone knows about it).
I know about this!
It was my cousin and his mates. One of his mates who was only in "the truth" for the friends and the girls - he was from a tough family. Those in Liverpool will know him, his last name was Morgan.
Anyway, my cousin, his best mate Bro. Morgan and a few others went to the pub after the convention and ended up getting into an argument with non JWs. I've been drinking with this Bro before and he loves confrontation. He likes to be the "alpha male" in every room. One thing led to another and he bottled someone (Liverpool slang for he smashed a beer bottle over someones head). A fight ensued and they were all thrown out.
Not sure if police arrived or what but the young brothers in my congregation were individually grilled about it asking what we knew, were we there? If not, where were you?
The CO lost his shit.
Our Hotel had a fire alarm Sat night & we arrived back to our hotel (The Renaissance) at 3am to find our elders and families in the street in dressing gowns thanks to some plonker JW cooking in their room.
I remember hearing about that at the time. Didnt the hotel ban JWs during convention time? Or at least started asking for a deposit or something? Something came of it anyway.
