"Other sheep"
Looking back at it now, how derogatory to allow ourselves to be called sheep. A farm animal that's fleeced and lead around.

I couldn't believe the elders being called to the stand hadn't even bothered to follow to proceedings of the investigation. If it were me being called to court for something so serious you can guarantee I'd have read everything and watched everything even taking notes.
But then, I actually care about the welfare of children.

I love your post, but I swear I lose brain cells for each sentence in a Watchtower that I read.

Are the younger generation taking on roles in the Cong?
by purrpurr ini notice that several of the congs i've been to seem to have a majority of the male roles performed by older men.
very few young men are wanting to be ms or elders etc.
it also seems like very few young people are being pioneers either.. would you agree with this?

In my last cong it was a recurring "local needs" talk. One particular elder was always banging on about the younger brothers not reaching out. It used to piss me off when I was a believer because i really was doing all I could and other young brothers said the same. The forget that I was working full time, raising a newborn baby and was the stand-in talk guy. The only thing was my ministry. It would do an hour on Saturday and that was it. What more did they want? Sacrifice my time with my wife and baby to count pennies from the contribution box or kiss elders asses?
Fuck that shit.
I never wanted to be a MS or elder, more work, more bullshit.

I am a proud Jehovah's Witness Defender
by Matthew Jefferson inmy name is matthew j and i have just ended my study with the jehovah's witnesses.
no, i did not stop studying because i believe the jehovah's witnesses are a 'cult', i left due to the minor beliefs that i hold that remain separate from the organization.
i called my elder who is still an amazing man and great counselor, affirming that i do not wish to continue my studying.

I have had 9 months of the a great honor and privlage to be associated with such amazing people and to aid such a phenomenal organization. I am, and have stated to my friends of my Kingdom Hall that if anyone were to harm the organization, I will do anything to my ability to come to their [the organization's] defense. I have said, ''If their is a 'watchtower', I will be a gaurd in it to aid in defence of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
And yet you wont join.

My ex-father in law is an elder. He'd discuss judicial committee details at the family dinner table "for fun". We used to while away hours after dinner drinking wine and talking about brother-masturbator and what his favorite porn is, sister so-and-so who's been on a vacation with a non-JW man but assures us that nothing happened or brother and sister X who video taped themselves having sex and confessed to the elders.
It happens - 100%.
Not gonna lie, it was intriguing learning about the brothers and sisters in the hall. You'd never look at "poster girl pioneer" the same way after you've learned she has a dildo collection.

Did you actually read the bible end to end?
by Ultimate Axiom inin my ten years as a witness i never read the whole bible end to end, what with four magazines a month, the book study, meetings and talk preparations, there just wasn’t the time.
i knew all the important references to ‘prove’ the various jw doctrines, and the cherry picked chapters that help foster the idea that it’s a good book, but that’s not reading it.
well after nearly forty years out, i decided i would do it.

I did at least twice. Leviticus was one hard slog I can tell you.
I also read the Book Of Mormon and the Koran. They were easier to read as there's less there. But the Book Of Mormon was more fairy tales.
